WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- In the struggle for the Jewish vote of South Florida, we've made note of the edgy work of comedian Sarah Silverman, who has voiced in a popular video with some over-the-top word choice the fear that traditionally Democratic-voting elderly Jewish voters could cost Barack Obama victory.
As one activist here in Florida says, the condo crowd will be seeing a lot of Joe Lieberman campaigning for John McCain in the remaining days of the campaign.
But we overlooked the rebuttal which the Republican Jewish Coalition, fighting for a bigger than usual share of that vote this year, made to Ms. Silverman.
In the video work of one Jackie Mason, senior comedian -- His response to the "Great Schlep'' of young Jewish Democrats calling on their parents and grandparents in South Florida to stay true to the party:
Silverman's a "Yenta'' for trying to tell people how to vote.

Please report on the preachers who crossed the line of church and state and also the new video out about the reverend at rally invocation. We need to strip the religious of their tax breaks because they have become nothing but political entities.

Jackie is a comedy legend and Sarah Silverman is just a loudmouth. I love it!
If I weren't a McCain supporter I would STILL love it, you know why? Because FINALLY someone has the guts to tell Sarah Silverman, Matt Damon, Barbra Streisand and the entire Hollywood lemming crowed what they can do with their dumb argument of "if you don't vote for Obama you're racist"
EVERY american should tell the Obama lemmings this and watch in stunned silence as they try to come up with one thing the junior senator has ever accomplished. There isn't one.

The right seems to treat "hollywood" the same way they treat Americans. Damon, Silverman are hollywood lemmings............Jackie Mason....hey now there is a "real" American. GEEEEZZZZ!

Another Bigot for McCain. They're really coming out of the woodwork now. Check out Mason's article "Time to Threaten Arabs with Mass Eviction" where he recommends that every Palestinian be forced out of Israel, the West Bank and Gaza. He suggests this massive uiman rights violation and action of ethnic cleansing not in a comedy piece but in a seriuos editorial. He is a war crimuinal at heart. McCain must be proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with a man of such deep hate and bigotry..

I think that the greatest thing about this video as a response to the Sarah Silverman video is that is showcases exactly how out of touch the older generation of Jews are with us Gen Next/Millenials. On one hand, you have Sarah Silverman, a very bright and well read (listen to her NPR interview) younger Jew, who uses the crude humor of the 'new Jew' vs. Jackie Mason's extension of the 'old Jew' Yiddishe momma kvetching. It just doesn't resonate with the same audience.
Most of the Anti-Obama campaign is based on fear that somehow is he is less American.
Most of the Anti-McCain campaign is based on fear of an older and sometimes erratic personality backed by a women whose views are not shared by the vast majority of Jews (particularly young Jews)
I have to say, though, its great to see the interest and dialogue that these pieces are creating.

Younger are voting McCain/Palin. As well as religious jews.
Older generation secular jews have tended to vote democrat. Less so with Obama.
