The Swamp

by James Oliphant

The Chicago Tribune's sister pub, RedEye, has compiled a list of words we will all be glad to see fade from scene once this campaign has ended.

They include, as you might guess:

"Maverick"
"Game-changer"
"Hockey Mom"

Here's a link to the rest.

I too will be happy that the world Maverick will return to something that matters - my son's middle name. McCain bastardized the word only to have Palin jump on the bandwagon and screw it up even more!

How about these words: "Change we can believe in"?

All well and good.

But let's keep this zinger from the AESmith Memorial Fdn. dinner:
"I have never put lipstick on a pig, or on a pit bull, or on myself. This one's for you, Rudy Guiliani."
