As we Americans prepare for our Thanksgiving dinners today, it is with fresh awareness that evil is no respecter of our traditions or sensibilities.
The terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India have riveted much of the world and cast a horrible shadow. We are shocked but not surprised at the carnage caused by a previously unheard of group that apparently styles itself the Deccan Mujahadeen.
On this day of prayers, our thoughts and prayers include the people of India and the many victims of the mayhem, both Indian and Western.
After 9/11, a French newspaper headline said: "We are all Americans" in solidarity. Today, we are all Indians, especially we Americans who have experienced epic terrorism too.

Does the timing of this attack seem at all fishy?
Does the timing of the 'be very afraid, NY' see, at all fishy?
Right when there is a movement to block Bush's pardons.....

My thoughts are with the Indians going through this awful time, as we did a little over seven years ago.
I'll be interested to see what their response is to this attack.

Epic terrorism indeed, Frank.
I hope we'll look at EVERYTHING with a much more skeptical eye.

And, does it just strike ME as strange that India's chief of anti-terrorist police was killed in yesterday's attack?

Okay--one more thing---the Bruce Ivins stuff is being reviewed in the press again---and we have more attacks and warnings of same.

A reader made a comment to another Swamp entry that congratulated Bush for winning the war on terror. Some victory.

Pakistan is living in the past, they need to wake up and get with the program. The majority of their citizens live in poverty, while the government spends billions on the military to accomplish ghastly endeavors such as these. I live in the US and always believed that you cannot paint people with a single stroke, but I think I no longer feel that way. Islam teaches intolerance, mayhem and murder. All the conflicts in the world have some aspect of muslim involvement. Its sad for me to say this, but all muslims are alike with their fanatic agenda. What will these people accomplish with violence, just hatred towards their people and their religion.
