Supporters of Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain were getting an 11th-hour pitch to call Colorado households on his behalf.
An e-mail to supporters contained the names and phone numbers of 10 Colorado voters, along with a script to make the sales pitch.
Polls have shown Colorado leaning toward Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois. Denver is where Obama accepted the Democratic nomination.
"Today is Election Day, and John McCain is the only candidate with the experience we can trust to bring real change to Washington and get our economy back on track," the Arizona Republican's supporters are supposed to say.
"The race is shaping up to be extremely close, and your vote will make a difference. Can we count on your vote?"
