It's all things Obama for much of Chicago which means that even his choice of pizzeria is an object of fascination.
Turns out he likes a South Side Chicago joint called Italian Fiesta Pizzeria located in a strip shopping center. WGN-TV sent a reporter out to do a fun little story about the pizzeria owners being invited to Washington next week for an exhibition of food that will be part of President-elect Obama's inauguration festivities in January.
It looks like decent enough thin crust pizza but when I think of great Chicago pizza it's deep dish that comes to mind.
I'm wondering how much pizza Obama really eats? His thin frame suggests he doesn't eat much pizza, or anything else for that matter.

I'm fit, and eat lots of pizza. Thin crust crispy is the only way to go.
Deep dish is, well, not really pizza.

Regime Change = Bruce,
Dubya's policy has been to screw up the federal government so badly that no one can fix it; then, the fatcats that backed him will have a field day in a world without federal laws to regulate them.

I'll admit it. I voted for Obama because I'm white and I felt guilty.

Isn't pizza nearly a perfect food? Something from each of the major food groups: grains for the crust, dairy for the cheese, fruits and vegetables for the tomato sauce, the onions, and the green pepper, and meats for the sausage and pepperoni. It's a whole balanced diet in one bite!

DaveB,
Right you are,
and if you had to eat one type of food every day for the rest of your life, wouldn't it just have to be Italian??

Why no deep dish? That's easy - BO is not from Chicago to begin with.

The worst pizza I ever ate came from Gino's in Chicago, twice in fact.

Deep dish ,, aka "Chicago Style" is as authentically Chicagoan as Obama is... which is to say, NOT AT ALL.
.
It was invented by a guy from Texas (who owned Pizzeria Uno) and who marketed the pie as "Chicago Style" when his place was the only one selling it. There was no such thing as a "Chicago Style" pizza until this guy from Texas came up with the marketing gimmick and it caught on in the 70s.

Re his :thin frame": that's probably where his daily exercise in the gym pays off!! and at 190, I wouldn't exactly call him THIN!!...it's just that he's TALL, but he looks very nice in his clothes.

He's not the only one in the house - remember the pizzas when his daughters had a sleepover for their friends? I expect the girls talk their parents into ordering pizza as often as they can.
