As President-elect Barack Obama sets about organizing a Cabinet - with names such as Hillary Clinton hanging in the air - most Americans appear confident that he will get it right.
Among Americans surveyed last week by CNN and Opinion Research Corp., 43 percent said they are very confident that Obama will "make the right decisions when it comes to appointing people'' and 34 percent said they are somewhat confidence - adding up to a fairly high level of overall confidence, 77 percent.
Not surprisingly, for all the attention paid lately to the possibility that the senator from New York is being considered for secretary of state, the Cabinet post which most people say "will matter most fo the country's future'' is that of the Secretary of the Treasury -- 41 percent calling Treasury the most important pick, 25 percent secretary of state, 24 percent secretary of defense.
The survey of 1,246 adults was conducted Nov. 6-9, 1,246 and has a possible margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

My hope is that President-elect Obama makes a strong statement, by way of a cabinet appointment, in support of the unions of America. They have, through their blood, sweat and tears, comprised and sustained the middle-class, here in America. In some cases, they have given their lives, so their fellow workers would have it just a little easier, in their work day. This happened, year after year, decade after decade and America became stronger. The union workers and their families prospered and developed into good citizens, college-educated and family-orientated, but along came that oligarchy and their hatchetmen, the Republicans. The rest is history!! 35 years of a concerted effort to destroy the reality and the idea of unions, by the Republicans and the Corporations. It wasn't enough that their greed was being satiated, and them some, but they had to destroy the middle-class in the process !! Now, they want American workers to work at slave-wages and be happy about it. No more college for their children, no more decent public schools for the children, let them work at menial jobs and like it !! America will not be right, until the unions are allowed to flourish like they were in the 1930-60s. then, you can be certain, that America will be on the right track again. Every strong union job has been farmed out, steel, auto. In some cases, it has been reduced to a caricature of its former self, our Railroads. I will not even explore the damaging effect, this " get the unions " attitude, has done to our infrastructure. I think, you get the picture, without the unions, America is going nowhere and you know where, going nowhere can land you !! Just ask, Senator Stevens and Governor Palin !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

Inky, please tell everyone here in The Swamp which unions have caused the financial crises in Wall Street that will cost the American taxpayers over $700 billion dollars in the bailout.
