The Swamp

by Jason George

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- At Gov. Sarah Palin's Sunday rallies, she's earned big responses by repeating the line that an independent organization has found that Sen. Barack Obama's proposed policies "would destroy 6 million jobs over the next decade."

A quick search though finds that the only thing destroyed is the truth in that statement.

The facts: The "independent organization" Palin cites is actually the Center for Data Analysis, which is part of The Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank.

Further, the figure is what the Heritage Foundation believes would be the amount of potential jobs not created if Obama changes tax law (including repealing the Bush tax cuts.)

Why doesn't that surprise me !! She's a Bush-McCain Republican and she has nothing positive to offer the campaign, other than lies and distortions, like any other Bush-McCain Republican !! They have disgraced the Republican Party and themselves, but, I don't think it matters to them !! They have to win, at all cost and if that means debasing our democratic process, than so be it !! They have turned into the Hell's Angels, in a Republican disguise !! Let's show most of that wing of the Republican Party, the highway, and let them roam America, seeing what their hypocrisy has done to her !! That is the most we can do for such hypocrites and incompetents !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

I'm wondering if she even knows what the Heritage Foundation is...but truthfully, anyone at her rallies has already decided to vote for her.

Jason George is the one mis-stating the facts. Not Gov. Palin. Palin accurately cited the source. There's NO mis-statement here.

On the larger issue, the Heritage Foundation is just as much, or as little, an "independent" organization as the many left-wing organizations the Swamp writers routinely cite as "independent" or "non-partisan".

For example, in an article this week a Swamp writer cited a study from a group he labeled "non-partisan"--CREW, which is as Democrat as the DNC.

The Swamp writer once again uses a double standard to aid his candidate Obama.

Typical. Nothing real to say so just make it up.

This woman is the culture warrior's trophy candidate. Just like Cindy McCain is John's trophy wife.

Hopefully after this election the baby boomers vapid fascination with other people's bedroom issues will fade from our electorate.

Is there anything that Bible Spice can't get wrong?

IDIOT......

what facts...we don't need any stinking facts...

Some reporters will have to ask her about her campaign lies and misinformation at her next press conference.
hahahahahahah

oh and Sarah, your medical records? what are you hiding?

Palin scares me to death - well not Palin herself - but the idea that she might live at the Naval Observatory. We will either have an Obama Nation or an abomination. .................

Only Bruce could claim the Heritage Foundation as an independent organization.

Their mission statement from their website:

"Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is a research and education institute - a think tank - whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values and a strong national defense.

They are mostly responsible for pressing the dummy in chief into the Iraq war, having promoted a middle east democracy for decades.

Feith, Perle, Wolfowitz....The brass of The Heritage Foundation and architects of the Iraq war.

Or, as Bruce knows them: "independents".

CREW: citizens for responsibility and ethics in washington

CREW mission statement:

Crew is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to promoting ethics and accountability in government and public life by targeting government officials - regardless of party affiliation - who sacrifice the common good to special interests. CREW advances its mission using a combination of research, litigation and media outreach. CREW employs the law as a tool to force officials to act ethically and lawfully and to bring unethical conduct to the public's attention.....

Marilyn....Great point! Where are her medical records? What is she hiding?

My mother is eight-five and she makes more sense than Gov. Palin. .............

Fact: the Heritage Foundation has more Democrats working for it than the Swamp has Republicans writing for it.

If the Heritage Foundation isn't "independent", then The Swamp isn't either.

Look, she thinks Hustler's "Nailin' Pailin" is a documentary about her candidacy. (From the prank radio call yesterday, FYI.) What do you expect her to be? Smart?

How can *anyone* seriously consider putting this woman in a position where it's even *remotely* possible (and frankly seems quite likely) that she'll end up in the Presidential seat?

*shudders*

This woman is all kinds of stupid wrapped around disingenuous and liberally sprinkled with corrupt.

Looks like disusted has been totally debunked. the Hertitage foundation is a conservative think tank and says so in its own literature. by definition, it is partisan. CREW is not partisan and says so.
Jason is correct - Disgusted is just plain wrong.

Ah, yes, the HERITAGE foundation--the same people that told the news media that Ron Reagan would be good for America.

Thr truth of the matter is that the Heritage Foundation is extremely partisan in its message...no doubt.

As far as Obama being socialist or tax and spend liberal as the neocons suggest, I'm still trying to get over George H.W. Bush's "read my lips, no new taxes" mantra. If my memory serves me, McCain promised no new taxes early on in this campaign...I think we can expect the same result from him. Just look at his health care plan. I sometimes get confused about who taxes and spends? The Republicans say its the Democrats, but my recollection is that under Bill Clinton we had record surplusses and didn't do much saber-rattling around the world. Now we have record deficits and are rattling sabers whereever and whenever we get the chance. Just look at the attacks in Syria as proof of that, a total disregard by this neocon administation doing whatever the hell it wants. It's high time the American people speak up and let the world know there are consequences to such actions...Lord knows they are watching.

HEY!! If a Republican says a source is Independent, then it's Independent. What need have we to check up on their statements? Fox News? Independent. Heritage Foundation? Independent. RNC? Also independent and totally non-partisan.
*
Democratic sources, however, are automatically to be considered Communist rags.
*
We need to learn that Republicans are NOT required to anchor their reality as the rest of us are. They can re-invent any fact or statement they want to, at any time, and they can also alter history. STOP QUESTIONING THAT, as it's most inconvenient for people trying to get their guy elected to have to take time out of their day to explain to you why it's the truth. Just start ACCEPTING what they say as automatically true, and they'll have a much easier time of things, which will mean that capitalism will be up and on its feet again in no time, jobs will be plentiful again, housing will be secure and low-cost. Terrorists will also be running away in -- well, -- terror. See how easy and comforting that is?
*
WHY do they have to keep explaining this to you? Do you not realize what a nuisance you're being?
