JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Hank Williams Jr. hit the high notes for the McCain-Palin ticket today, appearing here at a rally with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Williams performed the "National Anthem" and then segued right into "McCain - Palin Tradition," a song he wrote earlier this month that uses the melody from his '70s hit, "Family Tradition." Here's the first verse:

The left wing liberal media have
Always been a real close knit family
But, most of the American People
Don't believe em anyway ya see

Country music is pretty prevalent in Palin's recent events. She walked on stage today to Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" and she campaigned all Sunday with Gretchen "Redneck Woman" Wilson.

yep...she's just one of those ordinary people. Gosh....if I had a nickel for everyone of my redneck friends who could fly their family around at the states cost...........or wear a 150k outfit..............or get paid 100 of thousands to live in their homes....or fly my family to watch ol' daddy snowmobile cause he don't have a job.....I'd be broke!

She can have Hank. We've got Springsteen.

Who cares???????Go home Palin!!!

After a while you actually have to have some substance underneath all of those down home colloquialisms.

If she wants to garner all of the support of the "rednecks" or cowboys is fine, but sooner or later you have to realize that over 80% of the country lives in the cities and suburbs.

I think she is in danger of narrow casting her message.
