We just received very sad news. Christine Ann Durbin, age 40, the daughter of Illinois's senior U.S. Senator, and a wife and mother, died today from a congenital heart problem.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Christine's family and friends. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

SENATOR DICK DURBIN'S DAUGHTER PASSES AWAY
[WASHINGTON, D.C.] - Joe Shoemaker, Communications Director for U.S. Senator Dick Durbin issued the following statement on the death of the Durbin's oldest daughter.
"Christine Ann Durbin, daughter of Senator Dick Durbin and Loretta Durbin, passed away today from complications relating to a congenital heart condition.
"In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Marty Johnson and son Alex; brother Paul (and wife Jamie); sister Jennifer (and husband Michael).
"For sixteen years she worked in the Emerging Markets Division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington.
"Chris Durbin, 40, fought a heroic lifelong battle with heart disease and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Durbin family.
"Funeral arrangements are pending."

What a tragedy for any father to experience. I hope and pray for Senator Durbin and his family, that their grief will be brief and their memories of their dear daughter, Ms Durbin, will help them through this very trying time !! God bless Senator and Mrs. Durbin and their entire family !!

I am so sorry to hear it. My daughter passed away at the age of 33 two years ago, from the effects of epilepsy. I understand the pain they must be feeling and will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
