To all the veterans out there, thanks for your service and many sacrifices. While many of your compatriots may seem to not appreciate what you've done, many do and understand that more needs to be done to, as President Lincoln said, "care for him who shall have borne the battle."

Thank you, to all of the men and women, who have served our country, in our Armed Forces and a special thanks to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. We are eternally grateful.
One, concrete way, we can show our gratitude is by taking care of them, better than we have been for the last 8 years. Give them the medical treatment and rehabilitation facilities they need !! They didn't hold back, when we asked them to serve in our Armed Forces. Give them the G.I. benefits package that they deserve and let it be known, that we will not tolerate any more character-assassinations against Veterans, who are running for Office. Any politician, him or her, whose supporters do not vigorously denounce such tactics should be heavily fined, and defeated at the polls. There can't be any toleration of this kind of treatment concerning anybody running for Office, but especially, a Veteran of foreign wars !! Let us, not let happen again, what Saxby Chambliss and his supporters, did to former Senator Max Cleland ! A true war hero, who lost his two legs and an arm in action, in Vietnam and was defeated, by way of character-assassination. They questioned his patriotism, by putting him in pictures with Bin Laden !! Can you get any more low-down, than that !!? I don't think so.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all veterans, but especially those coming back today's wars. They seem to be mostly forgotten and have to fight tooth and nail for what is their rightful medical care, education, housing, and mental health care.
I am almost in tears when I think about friends I have lost in today's war in Iraq. Where the president of the United States cannot be bothered by going to their funerals and honoring those that gave the ultimate sacifrice.
I too served in the Armed Forces duirng the Vietnam Era but was fortnuate to never have been sent to Vietnam. I came back and was spit upon while in uniform.
We must honor all veternans, of all wars. We must provide quick and complete medical and social benefits without long waits to see if they are really qualified to receive these benefits. So what if we in the process give something to someone who might not be qualified but shorten the waiting time from four years to 90 days for those who really need the assistance.
I salute all veterans of all wars, whether they served in combat or not. They went where they were needed.

Don:
The voters of Georgia are starting to see through Saxby Chambliss.
But it is indeed a sad story that John McCain, who in 2002 stood by his fellow Viet Nam Vet Max Cleland and blasted Chambliis for the ad you talked about is now coming to Georgia to CAMPAIGN for Chambliss!!! And, Jim Martin is also a vet!!
Chambliss is another one of these great Republicans who have no problem with sending other people's kids off to die, but was too busy to serve in the Armed Forces when he was that age. Just like Cheney and the rest.
