ABC's Brian Ross has gotten a hold of a campaign ad that Sen. John McCain refused to air that involves the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, President-elect Barack Obama's former pastor. As McCain's prospects turned increasingly bleak prior to the election, many in the GOP were clamoring that such a weapon be deployed. It apparently got off the drawing board.

Comments
Rev. Wright's mouth is NOT Obama's and furthermore, HE IS NOT OBAMA, SO GIVE IT UP!!!!!

What's up with the Swamp lately? What are you trying to prove by rehashing all of the failed rightwing lunitic fringe propaganda?
Ayers, Obama birth certificate, Rev Wright etc etc etc etc etc....you'd think Obama lost the election if didn't know and you were just depending on the Swamp for all of your info...

Hey Swamp, the election is over, don't you think it's about time you move on.

Wonder whether they'll be posting about going bankrupt?

I agree with the Obama supporters who want the Swamp to cut out the Obama critiques. The Swamp and the Tribune ran only pro-Obama stories during the campaign. Don't think you're going to gain any credibility by running critical stories on him after the election. Journalistic credibility is at an all time low. Might be one of the reasons the Tribune just filed for bankruptcy - and why the New York Times is about to follow suit.

I saw the ad today and it was powerful but the media would of claimed that John McCain was being divisive in using it.
McCain should be praised for putting the Country ahead of his political ambitions.

and what you have said about Palin since she felt it fair game?

Yes, swamp, your news is all old news lately. You are drudging up far, far right wing old mud to increase your postings from the idiots that quite posting here. This has been VERY noticable to the reguolars here, and maybe it is because you are trying to ramp your numbers up for a sale, or a loan, as I read in another *news*paper today that the Trib is filing bankruptsy. If you are using the auto industry as a guide to running your business, then keep up the *great* work.

Sorry Bemused....due to the CRAPPY delayed filter *service* here (which I am sure is costing the SWAMP precious $$$), your post was not up when I was typing mine.
I would like to tell you that I agree with your post. It is completely obvious to us all that there has been some sort of policy change at the swamp, and like many of the decisions being made on their end, does not seem to make sense either. SWAMP......enough with the stupid high tech human filters you employ and save yourself some money you fools!

What would be interesting to know is what, if anything, Obama had in reserve in case he was down five points with two weeks to go.

Here's some news that you apparently missed:
The Rev. Wright commercial ran over and over on Foxxx cable news in Chicago the day before the election (and possibly on election day).
I suppose it was really aimed at Northwest Indiana.
I don't know why it is repeatedly stated this was an ad that was suppressed. It ran in Chicago.
As to "old news": the Acorn and Birth Certificate dead horses are being flogged because they are not really dead yet:
They are leftover talking points the right hopes will "delegitimate" Obama.
Every little bit helps in their view
Too early to start blaming him for the ineptitude of the White House since he's still in Chicago.
So for the interlude, intermission music they're going to play those old tunes over and over:
Acorn, Raines, Ayers.
Birth Certificate.
The Acorn Raines Ayers theme is to try to blame Obama for the fall of Lehman Bear Merrill AIG etc., before he even takes office.
Interesting that Clarence Thomas wanted to hear the Birth Cert. cases.
Since the good Justice is so interested in such historical explorations, perhaps we should revisit Anita Hill as well.
O, I forgot. That was a "high tech lynching". The Justice didn't like it.
He prefers a run at infanticide based on Barack's birth certificate. That, he favors.
Strange Justice, indeed.

Here's a great quote from yesterday's sermon from Obama's former spiritual mentor - hopefully he wasn't BO's history tutor also - Remember, this was from a prepared script:
.
"Any preacher who dares to point out the simple ugly facts found in every field imaginable is demonized as volatile, controversial, incendiary, inflammatory, anti-American and radical," Wright said, taking time out to note the thousands of Japanese civilians who died 67 years to the day when American warplane dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima." (Actually, Dec. 7 marks the day when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.)
.
Rev - go back to retirment.
