Bush at Union League small.JPG

by Frank James

President Bush evidently tries to keep a sense of humor about his low popularity with most of the American people.

In Philadelphia Saturday to attend the annual football classic, the Army-Navy Game, Bush also made a stop at the venerable Union League Club on Broad Street where his portrait of him was unveiled to go along with those of the other presidents.

He opened his remarks by saying:

Good morning. Welcome to my hanging. (Laughter and applause.) Thank you for coming and thank you for your warm welcome.

Later, he said:

I found it interesting that the League was founded in 1862, to support President Lincoln in a time when his leadership was deeply controversial. (Laughter.) I know how he felt. (Laughter.)

Clearly, Bush and President-elect Obama both share a thing for Lincoln right about now.

I'd like to see Bush's "Legacy" be the same as what he gave to so many and have it visited upon him. I'd want us to do it here domestically but I wouldn't complain if some foreign nation were to utilize extraordinary rendition on members of the BushCo crime family.

The first post - love to hear from the compassionate left.
.
No torture of Gitmo terrorist, but thedeath penalty for our president.

The 'victimizer' has become the 'victim' ?

Self pity ain't pretty.

Ahhhh, poor wittle Terry...

Everybody's pickin' on his hero, W.....:-(

Worst President ever!

"Welcome to my hanging." We can hope and petition for justice.

I don't think there will be much effort on the part of the professional political community to rehabilitate the GW Bush legacy. Currently the debate seems to focus on exactly how bad was he? Simply an incompetent fool or an actual malevolent force? Simple minded boob or war criminal? Simply incompetent or actively corrupt.

It seems pretty certain that his place as America's worst president ever (worse even than fellow Repub Prez Nixon) has been sealed. What remains to be determined is the margin of "victory" for the title of "worst Prez ever" he'll get.

I want Bush's legacy to be the first US President ever tried, convicted, imprisoned, humiliated, etc for his crimes. Put the man through everything he and his minions put this country through. THAT'S his true legacy!

The First thing we should do on Jan 20, 2009 is take ALL of the money Bush and Cheney have stolen from us and ALL of the money from their minions who made millions off Bushs war and hand it over to the GI's and the GI's Familys who lost a LOVED ONE in this stupid war. Then Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Rove and all the other top BushCo criminals who pushed for Bushs war can GO TO IRAQ and do manual labor for the rest of their LIFE.
NO HOUSE IN TX WITH SERVANTS QUARTERS.

It's a lousy portrait... even as presidential portraits go; and they're seldom great art. He's stiff and unnatural and looks as tho he doesn't know what to do with his hands.

On the way out... let's hope the door-knob gets him where the good lord spit him.

We threw the Bum out. What more needs to be said !!?
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

I wonder if on January 20th, that will be the end of Bush Derangement Syndrome - you know, every problem in the world is Bush's fault, the bizarre fantasy that he is going to be impeached or sent to jail, reflexive lip curl every time his name is mentioned, etc.

Bush Derangement Syndrome, huh? Wow, you must be a doctor. That is quite the diagnosis. Well, I don't think I have that syndrome, but what I DO have is a butt-load of hatred not only for what Bush did to the country but also for what WE ALLOWED him, (and our continually corrupt government), to do to this country. I also am filled with disgust, (or rather, reality warp derangement---NO HERBIE, you can't use it.), and hatred for tired apologists like Herbie H. I know, I know, now is not the time for hate. Now is the time for all of us to get along. You know what? I don't think so. Not when the 23%ers like Herbie H. still don't f*****g get the fact that people hate Bush for several million good f*****g reasons. Genocide, financial collapse, mistreatiment of veterans, lying us into wars, failing to protect us on 9/11, "mission accomplished", I REALLY can go on all day.

Terry is one of the deluded 24% who still thinks Bush is a great President. He believes there were WMD's in Iraq in 2003. He believes trickle down economics works. He believes all poor people are lazy slobs. He believes the Stock market is a perpetual money making machine. He believes that health care should be rationed based on wealth. He believes the fundementals of our economy are strong. He believes Brownie did a heckuva job. He believes torture is the American Way.

Noise,
.
Jumping to a conclusion not based in fact again?
.
Herbie,
.
I doubt it, the flat-liners still rail against President Reagan and he has been out of office for 20 years.

MJ,
They need to get the portrait that has been in the attic for the last 8 years.

Herbie,
No, it won't be the end of it.
We will blame Bush for everything for the next 20 years.
Sound familiar?

Craig.....I could not have said it better. If I had a nickel for every post of mine that has gotten blocked.... Try being laid off from the construction industry for the last 4 months and writing a post that does not get blocked!!! I really do not think the pugs, the constis and the libers have any idea how much fire they are dealing with when they try to carry on their 20th century attack style politics in a 21st century depression. I'm seriously to the point of seeing the sense in letting the deep south go their own way, among many other radical ideas too.
