This is something you don't see everyday, a U.S. secretary of state playing piano for Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. It appears Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice decided to end her final trip to Britain as the U.S.'s top envoy with a crescendo.
I'm pretty certain we won't be seeing the next secretary of state, Sen. Hillary Clinton, concertizing for the Queen though, maybe, if her husband brings his saxophone...
Does anyone know why the Queen carries a pocketbook when she's in her own home?

She's using the "soft" pedal. Many pianists disdain use of this pedal, but perhaps more use of it in the middle east would have been appropriate during her administration at State.

Frank,
Purse? Surely there's an archive of royal handkerchiefs. Lord Goldensnot is the head curator.
Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, Franklin, Paine and others thankfully knew what they were doing.

Wow.
They were playing the Brahms Piano Quintet in that clip.
The one Schoenberg orchestrated.
That's one hell of a hard piano part.
I had no idea she could play that well.
Now if only the Bush administration could have performed as well.
