Just when you thought you couldn't stand another minute of this long campaign year, already extended by the added day of a leap year, get ready to ring out the old with an added second.
The "leap second'' will be added at the end of the final hour of 2008 this evening by the keepers of the atomic clocks who last bestowed an extra second on our lives in 2005. Adjustments like this every few years not only keep us all in synch, but also add a precious few seconds to life over the long haul -- or make us younger when we pass?
So this evening, as you're counting down the New Year, be prepared to round it out with a jolly, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...... 1..... Happy New Year!

And 01/20/09 cannot come soon enough. Away with the Supreme Court appointed worst President in U.S. history. He can go down to Crawford, TX and play cowboy on his daddy's ranch.

It figures that the Bush crime family would get an extra second. That group of thugs can't be gone soon enough.
