Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell was up at Harvard University last week talking about the importance of intelligence when he dropped a little tidbit I hadn't seen before.
"It's quite a thrill for someone to be able to go in and sit down and speak with the president of the United States every day. We do it six days a week. The president-elect is doing it seven days a week. I don't know if there's a little competition there or not - (laughter) - but it's seven days a week. And the sessions last somewhere between 30 minutes to almost an hour. And the subjects are absolutely incredible. The speed with which these two particular gentlemen absorb information and move on is astounding. But we go through a great deal of substance on any topic you can imagine in the context of national security or potential threats to the United States."
Apparently with Obama, there's no day of rest when it comes to daily intelligence briefings.
