There's no Diet Obama yet.
But the Classic Obama -- with "change we can believe in'' promised right on the soda-pop can -- is one Paris entrepreneur's way of raising some money to raise the hopes of the poor French, or the French poor at least.
Jean-Jaques Attisso says Obama's election has given hope to the disadvantaged, and he hopes that sales of his soda will help the down-trodden around the perimeter of Paris -- with a share of the profits pledged to help fund housing for the needy.
Pop goes the Obama can-top, ushering in a new era perhaps in Franco-American relations. This is a far cry from "Freedom Fries'' -- the next frontier: Sarkozy Soda in D.C.

Speaking of "Freedom Fries"...
George W. Bush slowly and methodically robbed the Repugs of all of their traditional campaigning claims and props like the infamous "Freedom Fries" garbage. All of them.
And the Repugs went along with all of it until they recognized it was unpopular, and then they were all down on Bush, because "conservatism cannot fail, it can only be failed".
It's also the reason why they can't win when their propaganda stops working (like it has recently) and they need a new schtick. They just yell the old stuff louder and more frequently.
They aren't going to be able to John Wayne the Moderates and the Left into silence after the Bush years. Iraq has killed that for as long as a generation if we don't allow the public to forget it.

Readers, instead of yet another cloying wad of journalistic cotton candy from Mark Silva, try a nice juicy journalistic pickle instead. MUCH more satisfying, and it won't rot your teeth --

It's great reading and hearing about the hope that has been created around the world with the election of Mr. Obama.
Like the French company in
Georgia, here in the US. and specifically in Atlanta the import company Inca Spirits ( www.incaspirits.com ) has launch a contest to create, among mixologists working in the area, the best "Piscobama" cocktail.
The positive thinking of so many new and pass believers in Mr. Obama is something that will help in the long run the US to get faster out of this financial hole and unemployment situation in which is now. So we all hope, and will give our best to do so.
I also read somewhere that the Chicago Distributor of Pisco Inca Gold is organizing a similar contest, do not know if it is during this period or in the near future, The Atlanta contest is now in its registration of participants stage at this time.
Thanks

You people are sick, soda, schools and even streets are already being named after Obama, and he hasn't done anything yet. either in the Senate or the White House. Give me a break, I wouldn't mind naming anything after him, but why don' t we see what he is made of, and let him earn it.

There is an audio story about this on audiodocumentary.org.
They say "Republican Caucus insists it be referred to as "Freedom Fizz."
Ha!
