A real journalist might speculate about the propriety of Obama vacationing at a millionaire's resort in Hawaii when so many people are facing hard times.
I'm glad the Swamp resisted that temptation and instead reported on this important news item.

We heard the same crap when Clinton vacationed in Hyannis Port or wherever. I guess you have to own your own rance or have a family place on the ocean to deserve a vacation. Laughable.

He made millions selling himself through autobiographies without ever holding a real job in his life. Now he is reaping the benefits by vacationing in style while the nation, who he constantly reminds is in the worst financial shape since the great depresssion, suffers form job losses and mortgage defaults.

Leave the man alone about his vacation. He has millions of dollars that he has earned (though book deals, etc), and deserves to take his family on a nice vacation if he has the means. The Obamas have donated thousands of dollars to charitable organizations and dedicated large portions of their professional lives to helping others.

And since when is it a bad thing to take care of yourself physically? The taxpayers spend millions of dollars each year in health care funding for those Americans who choose not to exercise and make healthy eating decisions. While I'm not implying that obesity is a choice, it's a real problem in the U.S. and it's nice to see someone that isn't an actor, model, or musician that is in decent shape.

Why does everyone think Obama shouldn't enjoy a nice vacation with money he worked hard to earn? He's about to spend the next 4 to 8 years in one of the most difficult, yet underpaid, jobs in the world. Every second of every day of his life will be scrutinized by the media for the rest of his life. Let the man go swimming at a nice resort for crying out loud. It was probably donated anyway so the resort could get the publicity.

Also, his current home state is Illinois but he mostly grew up in Hawaii and if you've been anywhere near Chicago in the last week or so you'd gladly be in Hawaii if you had the opportunity.

I love Hawaii - go there every winter I can. President-elect Barack Obama's home is Hawaii, where he was born, raised by grandparents and where he went to school.

Show me the pics of the Pres. hitting the surf at Wiamea thyis time of year and I'll be impressed.

From the sound of the "great" Americans, it seems Hawaii isn't one of those "pro-America" places.

So we hear from the Right Wing Yellow Bellies like Paulo because President-elect Obama went to Hawaii on vacation. Hey Paulo, are you like the rest of your fellow Yellow Belly Right Wingers and think that Hawaii is some exoctic place instead of being the 50th state in the Union?For some reason geography seems to be a subject that the Right Wing Yellow Bellies seem to fail to grasp, claiming that Obama and his family are "out of the country." while on their Hawaii vacation.

He pulled himself up by affirmative action and him and his angry wife got opportunities and advancement due to us dumbing down society so they could compete. Face it, he and his are elitists who could care less about the American people. It is all about where they are now and what they can get out of it. I'm originally from Chicago and when I come home, I stay at the best hotels I can afford because I want to show my wife and kids a good time and be close to the attractions. I don't see any problem with Obama wanting to do that for his family while in his hometown.
