All right, maybe I'm missing something. I understand why vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin might have needed to go to a department store to purchase designer jackets and skirts for campaign appearances.

But Victoria's Secret?

Politico.com's Jeanne Cummings, who first wrote about $150,000 in spending by the Republican National Committee on clothing, accessories and more for Palin and her family, is reporting today that there was an additional $30,000 in spending, including purchases at the aforementioned Victoria's Secret and Dick's Sporting Goods.

Here's an excerpt:

Salons and spas, including $350 at Escape Skin Care and Day Spa in New York, were the latest unusual expenses to appear in the Republican National Committee's coordinated expenses account with the McCain-Palin campaign, according to November reports released late Thursday.

Overall, the RNC has reported spending a total of about $180,000 for clothes and various accessories for the family of vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, Federal Election Commission records show.

As Politico first reported in October, the bulk of that spending, about $150,000, was spent in early September on clothes for the Alaska governor and her family.

The RNC's post-Election Day report documented another $30,000 at outlets that read like a suburban shopping directory.

Dick's Sporting Goods, The Limited, Foot Locker, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us and Victoria's Secret are all listed in between the expected payments for media buys, direct mail and polling.

Major payments to big department stores and boutique clothing outlets also continued. Thousands of dollars in payments to Macy's, Nieman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue -- all major recipients of RNC cash in early September as Palin upgraded her wardrobe for the campaign -- were made in October, too.

Meanwhile, the New York Times the Caucus blog reported that the latest campaign spending reports indicate that Palin's hairdressers were paid $110.000 to do her tresses while $55,000 was spent on a fashion stylist.

Maybe it wasn't Palin herself whose Victoria's Secret purchase was reflected in the spending report. Maybe it was someone else in her family.

Still, that's one expensive hockey mom. You betcha.

If you don’t like Sarah Palin, just say so.

Perpetuating a silly story like this is just dishonest. Everywhere that Palin has gone she has been swamped by media. Have you seen any video of her shopping during the campaign? As has been explained, however ineptly, by the McCain-Palin campaign, staffers (and style consultants hired by the campaign) went to stores in Minneapolis and in other cities, bought clothing and accessories for her use (and apparently her family’s use) during the campaign, and oftentimes bought the same “outfit” or item in three sizes, in order to be sure that when they got back to Gov. Palin at the hotel, probably one of the three would be correct. If you think that a Governor, or any person in any position (except perhaps Jay Leno) could go out on the campaign trail and appear in public, under intense media scrutiny, non-stop for two months in just what they had in their closet at home – you are insane.

This issue has been around for more than a month and I have not seen any reporting on it that shows any depth or serious investigation and presentation of facts. Just rehashing of the initial accusation. Sam Zell, you have a lot of work to do!

Hey...it's not cheap being a money saving maverick. Once again the right falls for somebody who isn't what she says she is. They will fight tooth and nail to defend the indefensable. She needed that money for Victorias secret and I'm sure she needed those hunting boots from Dicks sporting goods to wear on the "campaign" trail. It is obvious to anyone who isn't a partisan hack that this family has the tendency to rob the war chest of money for the "Fam" and herself because they feel they deserve this loot. What's worse is that she is the "star" for the republican party for 2012. It looks like a long long long winter for the GOP.

Gee, the economy stinks, the onslaught of Socialism is upon us, the Chicago City Council votes on a huge deal without any scrutiny, and all you can come up with a story on Palin?

Why are newspeople and other pundits still obsessing about the small story of Palin's wardrobe?! It was a non-story then, and even less so now. Come on. Get over it.
Obama raised a BILLION dollars and the combined campaign spending measured in the billions, and you obsess over Palin's lingerie?! Seriously, folks, get a life!
Oh, by the way; as I am the dutiful fiance of a fashion shopper gal, I know how seriously women take their bras...

Playing devil's advocate here- how much did Obama's wife spend on her outfits from a top name designer (custom pieces)?
How much did Biden and Obama spend on their suits? I am sure they werent wearing cheap suits. They were probably something like armani or similar.

In the meantime, Obama has spent nearly 1 billion dollars in his buying of the presidency.

The more you nitwits keep writing about Palin, the more ridiculous you look.

Good-bye Old Media. Ha!

Wasn't she getting enough support?

I believe it was P.T. Barnum who said there is no such thing as bad publicity so the continued reports on Ms. Palin and her shopping spree must be music to her ears. As to her supporters, they are truly smitten and nothing will change their less than rational thoughts on this subject. As one views the tremendrous problems left by the Bush Administration, the world can be thankful that McCain/Palin lost the election. After spending the entire campaign "trashing" everyone and everything about Washington DC, one can only wonder who would have been fit for appointment in their limited view. Undoubtedly, Lieberman would have been Sec/State and with his bias for the Israeli hardliners there would be no hope for a settlement in the M/East.

I'm confused about the comments about Victoria's Secret. It is important for women to wear well-fitting bras, and Victoria's Secret is not (these days) an expensive brand. Anyone who has watched Tim Gunn's Guide to Style should know that-- maybe they needed to get her in a bra that fit properly as part of her "makeover." (Note that as someone who had recently given birth, her bust size had probably changed.)

Palin represents all that is wrong with America and the GOP. .........

Come and listen to a story about a man named todd.

Outstanding reporting job from the Democrat Main Stream Media..Barney Frank lies through his frickin teeth about Democrat Responsibility for the subprime meltdown...NO challenge from the Main Stream Media..Obama is backing away from campaign promise after campaign promise..hardly a peep from his Media...but these guardians of American Democracy, The Democrat Main Stream Media, are leaving no stone unTurned in this Palin shopping story..

Bravo Democrat Main Stream Media...you guys are the best

Jane the cost of the dem's wardrobes has already come out. Michelle Obama's dresses has already been published, from under $200 to around $2000 k for her dresses, bought from designers and mall stores as well as online. Barack's suits are $1500. I don't recall Bidens number but if you did some research yourself you could find it. I'm sure all the individuals wardrobes are less than Palin's $180k wardrobe or Cindy McCains $300K convention night outfit. As VP Sarah Palin would have made approximately $221K a year, who would have funded her wardrobe then? I'm very glad that we have elected people who don't believe that they are there to benefit off the backs of taxpayers, I certainly don't want to be paying taxes so Caribou can find a way to justify using them to buy her improved Washington Hillbillies wardrobe.

Great googly moogly....This is priceless. The mindless justifying 30K on....wait....drum roll please............BRAs! I love my wife and she has a great figure, just not 15K a breast!
you people are unbelievable!!!!!!
OH OH OH HA HA HA!!!!!!!

Amen to everyone blogging about this waste of time story. Who cares about this old news anyway. Everything has been said better in the above messages regarding the 1 billion raised and spent by Obama and the expensive clothes the "other side" was wearing as well. Get on with covering a real news story already. Maybe you haven't noticed the half a million jobs that were lost last month? I am a cub fan but I see no hope in the Tribune ever finding a taker with this kind of nonsense reporting!

Think of all the mooseburgers one could buy with that money!

Maybe Sarah Palin is the next Jessica Simpson ... don't we all remember that episode from Newlyweds where Nick found out she spent like $800 on panties and made her return them?

Maybe Nick Lachey should move in with Sarah Palin and teach her a thing or two about frugality. And while he's at it, I'm sure he'd love to move a few big TVs around and plant some sod/turf outside ...

Okay, Jane, here is the problem. Joe and the Obama's bought suits with their own money. Not from the DNC's coffers.

Don't care though. Please have Palin run in '12. Please keep her star shining and run a story on her everyday in the Swamp. Easiest re-election ever.

Did you see the latest Victory Secret show, wow, that was sexy. They made fun of her moose hunting, her glasses, and her out on the tundra, now imagine her with those little tiny undergarments underneath and men take notice more tee hee.

I like Sarah, and I think she will alway get attention. Finally, something interesting to blog about today ha ha. Come on guys, get on here and write>>>>>

Don’t you just love reporters who have no actual knowledge but only spew bias and shock.

Really expected this report to be a little different. - After all the subject has pretty been worn out, and remains a non-story.

No other report has been backed by a single witness, photo or testimony of any person that ever witnessed Sarah Palin shopping or going to the spas - This one is no different

No other report has ever been backed by a reporter or photographer who surely must have followed Sarah Palin on these shopping trips - It’s hard to believe she was able to sneak away to do all that shopping - This article one is no different.

No other report has quoted any shop girl, sales person, employee or other store representative that can state they ever saw her in the store, or that could give us quaint little information as to whether Sarah wore boxers or briefs. This one is no different

No other report has been able to state how and when Sarah Palin was able to find time during the campaign to visit the stores and shops. This one is no different

No other report has had a single fact to support the same old trash repeated in this article, and the writer has not expressed an original thought..

We’re guessing that the writer of this article has absolutely no information that is factual, and that his age and IQ may be the same. - About the same as the other reports of this old, old story.

Another thing he has exhibited is a remarkable lack of curiosity and an identifiable distaste for truth.

Keep up the great work, Frank. Another hard hitting article. Maybe you could follow it up with other fascinating info like her bra size.

Let the woman crawl back under a rock. She is no longer a threat to your lord and master Obama. Down, lap dog.

And yet we get all of the stories we have to read about that great dress that Michelle wore. Or, "Where did Michelle get those great boots?"

The "new" Tribune is full of Pelosi, and it sticks to my shoes.

I think Palin's an out-of-her-depth ninny. As a VP she would have been a danger to us all. As a clothes horse on whom the Republican party chooses to spend its money, she' harmless and I don't care what she wears, or whose money (unless it's the taxpayers') buys her threads. If that's how her party chooses to deploy its resources, good for them. Why should anyone care except the party leadership and bookeepers?

yeah, its not necessarily the fact that they bought clothes for Palin. it's just the fact that they used RNC money to do so. If I were a republican and I had donated money to the RNC, I would be pretty pissed that they were spending my donation on clothes and bras instead of direct mail or airtime.

For those who think this is a nothing story, it seems abit hypocritical since so much was made of John Edwards Haircuts...which he paid for himself by the way.

Michelle used her own money so did Barack. Palin is disgusting, just like trailer trash, get a few bucks and go blow it at Tiffany's. RNC stop the handouts, they just spend it. What an example she sets for a possible office holder, I bet she budgets well as a cheif executive as well. Add this up to her "home" office! What a loser. And if you support her, good luck w/ your GED.

Macy's?

Yet another reason to dislike this vapid, vile woman. Thank god she didn't get the chance to run for that convicted Republican felon's vacated senate seat.

As far as the Victoria Secret it would all be worth it if we could get pictures. What a hockey MOM she is.
What a Maverick. I hope that Saturday Night Live picks up on this and does a skit about it. But the real thing is Sarah Palin will be laughing all the way to the bank when she puts out her book about all of this, you betcha! LOL

WELL AT LEAST IT WORKED. PALIN LOOKED HOT. OBAMA'S WIFE LOOKED HIDEOUS ON ELECTION NIGHT, AND THE CHICAGO DESIGNER OF HER DRESS SHOULD RETIRE. IMMEDIATELY.

another revealing chapter in the lie that is Sarah Palin.

Today's McCarthy Republican: straight from tailgunner Joe, through Nixon, Cheney to this phony halfwit maverick. Proud to be GOP?

"Macy's?

"Yet another reason to dislike this vapid, vile woman. Thank god she didn't get the chance to run for that convicted Republican felon's vacated senate seat."

Exactly! The fact that she would even shop at such a vulgar, awful store is proof positive she has no taste and a deficit of brain cells to rub together.

It's amazing what these reporters are finding. Victoria's Secret? Well I bet that made the First Dude very happy. ....Or maybe even Joe "the plumber."

Will the RNC be returning her 'undergarments' to VC????? Didn't think so.

I love to see the Palin lovers come out saying this isn't news. Especially those who try and turn people to the Obama's wardrobe. Here is the big difference. The Obamas PAID FOR THEIR OWN CLOTHES! Their own money. nitwits.

Now, this is most certainly newsworthy. Palin was trying to relate to your average working person. The McCain campaign was so disconnected and this kind of vulgar spending on clothes and makeup is proof they have no clue about us average people. Mr (how many houses do I own again?) They want 'trickle down' economics. good god there isn't enough left to trickle down when they get done with it.

Palin for presidential candiate 2012. Please... we beg you.

So, why are liberals outraged over how the RNC spends their money? If they contributed to the RNC then I could understand it, but if they didn't then why do the libs care?

Guys like this write about such trivia
(and, yes this Freudian) because they
were probably weaned too quickly.

That being said, is there any evidence ( i.e., surveillance cameras) that Palin ever set foot in any of these stores,
authorized or requested such purchases, or could refuse to agree with McCain's advisors about going
"Fifth Avenue" without causing internal problems?

The more of these things I read by guys like this the more I can imagine seeing them watching the
Palin/Craig Ferguson Youtube vid while they fantasize being with Governor Palin in the basement of the Wasilla Public Library.

Give it a rest!!!

The election is over. In the interest of fairness, let's scrutinize where Obama and Biden got their clothes.

While I didn't care much for Palin, this story is foolish. What did you expect her to wear? She was given very little notice and didn't have the correct clothes to wear. So what? Would you have her in old clothes with the world watching? So stop the idiotic articles.

It makes John Edwards' haircut seem like a bargain.

Kevin Barbour,
You know we wouldn't be reading this story if McCain/Palin didn't try to build a narrative around Palin being the defender of other people's money.

So, why are liberals outraged over how the RNC spends their money?
Posted by: vla | December 5, 2008 12:38 PM

Ah yes...those silly liberals. Why should we care how she spends RNC money? News flash......it just might be an insight to how she would spend the taxpayers money if she were to be in office. To the rest of these people who say "what do you expect her to wear". Hello...are you kidding me. What planet do you come from where 180 THOUSAND dollars is exceptable to spend on clothes. Are you out of your minds? No wonder your party has gone off the cliff. Hello...Hello.....30 THOUSAND in Victorias' secret? For BRAs???????????????????

This is priceless......folks losing homes and they find 180 THOUSAND for clothes NON NEWS????????????

Palin's completely utterly and totally full of crap and so is McCain. These two are the people who ran around the country telling average wage earners that expecting a little bit of a tax break under an Obama presidency was "socialist" and somehow wrong. Meanwhile they were living it up like kings and queens. Unreal.

The real question is, would she abuse her post as president or vice president as much as she abused her couple months as vice candidate? I think so!!!

Yes Palin needed to spend that 30k in victorias secret for bras. Lets see at a $100 a bra that will only leave her with....hmmmm....hmmmmm...THREE THOUSAND BRAS!!!!!

OH OH OH HA HA HA .......OH my god and this isn't NEWS??????????

Why is any critique of Sarah Palin considered an attack by "the liberal media"? Have a little more confidence in your party folks.

The ignorance and desperation of the Palin haters is astounding.

RNC money is private money, so the notion that Obama's spending was different by being 'out of his own pocket' is patently false. The RNC chose to spend some of its own money on wardrobe instead of on TV ads (like the Obama campaign did). So what?

Palin didn't request the spending nor did she do any of the shopping herself. I gaurantee that if you send someone to shop who doesn't have a clue about the person that they are shopping for, then they will buy multiples of everything in the store and at different sizes in order to cover all bases. That kind of shopping would easily run into 6 figures, but that's surely not what the actual wardrobe used costs.

The rest of the projected implications of this whole thing (e.g. suggesting that this was indicative of policy stance or how she might behave in office) is just plain neurotic.

You libs claim to be such progressive people (which suggests open-mindedness and freedom from hate), but your posts expose your hypocracy. The election is long over and Palin is out of the picture, so why are you getting so wound up about this?

The lion's share of the money wasn't spent at Victoria's Secret. It was spent at Needless Markup.

You libs claim to be such progressive people (which suggests open-mindedness and freedom from hate), but your posts expose your hypocracy.
Posted by: Grimlok | December 5, 2008 2:53 PM

Silly "libs" why couldn't we be more "conservative" like those who find nothing wrong with a 180 THOUSAND dollar wardrobe. The ignorance and desperation of the Palin opologists is amazing. They will make up stories like "she didn't do the shopping" when it was already reported that she did. Hey ...whats a lie or 2 in defense of Palin. I'll tell you what....give me 1 only 1 reason anyone would need to spend 30 THOUSAND in Victorias secret. Just one. Oh..and of course why would anyone think just because Palin finds nothing wrong with 180 THOUSAND dollars for clothes would mean she isn't a keen penny pincher if she got into office? Are you kidding? Do you hear yourself?

Yeah, waste of money. Not news though.
Also, Victoria's Secret doesn't just make underwear. My sister has bought $50 a pair jeans there.

Why is everyone railing on this article? These expenditures are a matter of public record, and are spending political money on extravagant (and possibly useless) services!

Seriously-- There's very little you can wear on the outside on the political trail that would be considered business-like from Victoria' s Secret. So what was bought then? How about Toys 'R' Us? Things to keep the little ones busy, or baby clothes for little Trig? Still not necessary.

Money down the drain people. Wake up. It's your hard-earned money being spent to make someone's life look flashier and more comfortable for a few weeks.
How do you feel now about that?

Ah yes...those silly liberals. Why should we care how she spends RNC money? News flash......it just might be an insight to how she would spend the taxpayers money if she were to be in office. To the rest of these people who say "what do you expect her to wear". Hello...are you kidding me. What planet do you come from where 180 THOUSAND dollars is exceptable to spend on clothes. So how do you rationalize Obamas Billion dollar campaign? Using your logic- Doesn't this provide some insight into how he would spend money-?

His actual voting record is what reasonable people would ( and do) use as a indicator of his willingness to spend our tax dollars...

If you want to know how Palin would spend money in an executive position you have her record as Alaska governor- Using as a barometer the money spent by someone shopping for her would demonstrate some really bad judgement...

Not a Palin fan, but I hope she/they enjoyed the high-priced wardrobe. I'm waiting to see the photos when Sarah shops on her own dime. And I wonder whether there will be as much media coverage in 2012 when Sarah stomps in Iowa and New Hampshire. That's when we'll find out how well Sarah does as an organizer and fundraiser - and whether she can address the issues/questions she has sidestepped so far.

Palin didn't request the spending nor did she do any of the shopping herself.
Posted by: Grimlok | December 5, 2008 2:53 PM

Please, just accept the fact that Palin's dumber than a bag of rocks and move on, you're making fools of yourselves with stuff like this and the Obama birth certificate thing.

Look, I despise Republicans as much as the next guy but you are still fellow Americans and as such I think you should all seek out some psychological counseling and then come back and give it another go in 2012.

I never thought I would get to the point where I felt sorry for the GOPer's but I do, you truly have become a pathetic bunch.

Good Luck and godspeed...

Jane: Obama already disclosed his fashion budget. If I recall, he has about eight suits that cost under $10,000 total.

$200,000 shopping sprees (at all the best "elitist" shops, no less), on the Republican National Committee tab.

$21,012 worth of free flights for her daughters, charged to the state.

All this, when she already makes $125,000 a year as governor and pockets an extra $22,883 in energy extraction royalties.

Sarah Palin is a chisler supreme.

All of which makes the fact that she charged $16,951 in expenses charged to the state, including 312 per diem allowances for staying in her own home just that much more amazing.

A dual income family, with Sarah earning $125K. Free travel (even for the family), and now free clothes, hair and makeup. They can actually go out in her backyard and shoot a moose, keeping her family in free mooseburger for a year. And still she feels the need to cheat. Shoot that moose for free and still charge the state $60 per burger. And she claims she deserves every bit of it.

Now that's what I call a perverse sense of entitlement.

"Sounds like socialism to me," to borrow a phrase.

Just another fake "bootstrapper" Republican. What a shocker.

Meanwhile, we all have to endure the indignity of Palin who turned the campaign for the Vice Presidency into some kind of FOX reality TV makeover show, where they take some ridiculously not-ready-for-prime-time pol and dress her up, push her out on the stage, and see if they can turn her into a VP in 10 weeks.

What the heck, right? It was just being second in line to the nuclear launch codes. No big thing. We could even do a whole co-promotional deal with moose sandwiches at Subway.

Thanks, Republicans. You sure do love our country n' stuff.

So how do you rationalize Obamas Billion dollar campaign?
Posted by: heartburn | December 5, 2008 3:19 PM

Heartburn........Somehow I didn't think you would be trying to make this case or defending this type of expenditure. This is the first and only year I can remember the dems out raised the repubs. Is it just that we out raised you or is there a limit you find unacceptable? Do you "really" find nothing wrong with 180K on clothes?

We're outraged because she might have become VIce President of the country we live in! Imagine someone with her lack of judgment being in charge of anything!!!!

Posted by: heartburn | December 5, 2008 3:19 PM
Obama's war chest proves he can not only head a large organization but a very profitable one at that. There are many Fortune 500 companies who wish they could have had the monthly returns Obama was posting. I think the US of A could use the deft money making skills of a brilliant politician like Obama. Sour grapes

Heartburn........Somehow I didn't think you would be trying to make this case or defending this type of expenditure. This is the first and only year I can remember the dems out raised the repubs. Posted by: bill r. | December 5, 2008 4:02 PM

Of course 180K is too much for clothes- I am not defending the amount spent- I do have an issue with the argument that this somehow correlates to Palins ability to govern.

My example comparing Obama's campaign spending and the money spent on Palins wardrobe was to show that they are both equally non issues in terms of ability to govern.

Posted by: jackson | December 5, 2008 4:45 PM

Jackson-

His war chest represented revenue only- not return on investment..
I agree that Obama is a gifted politician that is smart enough to know who to hire and surround himself with.. but the size of his campaign warchest only validates how many people wanted him to win. This is way different than running an organization where you not only have to earn your revenue, but you also have to report and be accountable for the return on the investment.

Obama's campaigns' only return has been that he won the election- this says nothing of his ability compared to someone heading a large profit motivated corp..

Time out a second! Why aren't we getting behind Sarah Palin and her EXTREMELY patriotic activities?!? Here we are putting all this money into stimulus packages so that people will go out and buy things. Well here is Mrs. Palin doing JUST THAT! She is a TRUE patriot, and a TRUE American! Since we don't have hardly any industry in the USA anymore, due to Corporations looking for cheaper labor offshor, we are a CONSUMER economy. C'mon people - Caribou Barbie is only trying to HELP the country!?!? Let's all follow her lead and get out there and spend, spend, spend! Oh, wait, nevermind... We've all lost our jobs and houses due to the extreme incompetence in Washington (ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE) and their accomplices on Wall Street!

That was PRICELESS AND SOOOO TRUE!!!.What a waste her nomination was...Hopefully she will stay in Alaska out of the limelight and we can forget her and Wasilla..

Rush Limbaugh thinks Palin hung the moon and so do I. She's smart and she will win the Presidential elections in 2012 wait and see !!!

No one cares! Palin is not in the race anymore. Why aren't you investigating the cost of Michelle Obama's dress, underwear and all the other stupid apparel discussions you are having about Governor Palin? Move onto the news of the day. We are tired of hearing about this nonsense. It is sexism at its worst, and your media bias is disgusting!

Lisa,
Because we, liberals and Dems, are treating Sarah, a con. and Republic the same way you, a con. and a Republic have been treating Liberals and Dems. for the last 35 years.

Lisa,
Are you kidding?
She's running for president. (2012)

Your con. smear game is up. We get it. Your quasi-fascist candidates don't get a free pass anymore.

Caribou Barbie as some put it just got a little hotter with her VICTORIA SECRETS revealed. Girls are green while the men are all agog. I think the whole thing is funny. Keep talking right up until 2012, it's what we concervatives want>PRESIDENT PALIN, OH YEAH!

In addition to the amount spent on clothes, the RNC released figures today that showed the highest paid person on their payroll was SP's make-up artist and hair stylist.

Now, that says it all, doesn't it?

And what did Todd get at Dicks Sporting Goods, a new snow mobile?

You are the Right, if this is the best you can do for your 2012 run I pitty you as your ideologies are down the toilet

Teresa,

Sarah Palin will never be President. If she runs, she won't make it through the primaries. The conservative base can't stand her and the hard right media goons will destroy her if she even gets close. Even if she did make it through her own party, Obama has close to 1B to ensure a second term.

As a Dem, I would love to see her run.

Wow! What a crappy piece of trash you've written...you betcha!! I really can't believe how low the Tribune is sinking. As soon as my subscription ends in January, I'm canceling for good. The Tribune Washington bureau (and the newsroom in Chicago) really is a "swamp" festering with a bunch of leftist, liberal hacks. Zell should have chopped some more heads.

bubba>sarah has the appeal of the 20 million Limbaugh listeners, religious right, gun rights, conservative right, fiscal conservatives, social conservativs, right to life, govt reformers, legal reformers, tax cuters, hunters, beauty queens, average joe, and those with above average intelligence.

Obama hasn't proven himself yet, you are counting your chickens before your eggs hatch. You still have morons like Pelosi and Reed who are still the biggest boobs now in complete control of things but they can't even control their own party. Other than Biden all the intelligent Democrats are now in Obama's cabinent.

JOE SIX PACK> You clearly have never listened to Drudge or Rush, you've spent all your time listening to Rachael Mancow or Kieith Overbite both people of lower intelligence and the fact that you disagree with Rush proves that he is right>PS my man friend answered this one for me. He is a huge Rush friend to and couldn't resist a response on this one.

Thats right! Go read what you only want to hear. Placebo media is what you seek.

Why doesn't Palin spend a day in the cattle futures market? Hillary pulled down a cool $100K for her trading. Palin is much smarter though, she should be able to do much better then that. Then she can repay the bill for her cloths and the Liberals can go off to find something else to whine about.

It's all lies. The media is trying to destroy Palin because they fear her. Palin will become President in 2012 and will serve until 2020. God is on her side. PALIN 2012!

bubba

There are so many people that like Palin in so many different groups. I think she'll do quite well. She has a wide enough appeal.

Joe six pack-I adore Rush LImbaugh. Who do you spend your time listening to Rachael Maddow? Kieth Oberman? There's no comparison to truthful information, I"m getting it and you're not.

Yes....How can you argue with some called "a dittohead".

If you haven't figured it out by now, it's better not to argue with a ditto head because logic wins out every time.

I never understood the whole "ditto head" thing......more like a "colon head".

PS my man friend answered this one for me. He is a huge Rush friend to and couldn't resist a response on this one.

Heh, you don't have any friends let alone "man friends". Your whole life is wrapped up in that bubble world that Druggy Rush and Girl Scout Hannity etc create for you...

Meanwhile. all of us in the real world just elected Barack Obama President...and we couldn't have done it without droids like you who were busy propping up Sarah the Blunder Woman....thank you.

Yeah, it's ok for Obama to use untold millions of illegal donations--from phony names, foreign nationals, and from individuals who exceeded the $2300 limit. But you homers here at the Trib keep talking about this kind of non-story. Once it is closely examined, probably won't hold up.

Why don't you expose the Obama team's failure to use simple security checks in their online donation machine, leading to the greatest perpetration of fraudulent fund-raising in history. I will give you a hint...Doodad Pro. Google that one. Then look at the illegal donations from Gaza and elsewhere.

The swamp is a joke. Mc Cormick must be rolling over in his grave.

Teresa (Terry) must be on some new designer drug.

"bubba>sarah has the appeal of the 20 million Limbaugh listeners, religious right, gun rights, conservative right, fiscal conservatives, social conservativs, right to life, govt reformers, legal reformers, tax cuters, hunters, beauty queens, average joe, and those with above average intelligence."

Terry,
Except for the above average intell. folks, those are all the same 20 million people.

Palin is going to have to beat out Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal for a spot on the 2012 Repug ticket before she can even think about taking on the great President-elect Obama.

There's only going to be one rightwing religious nutjob like Palin on the Repub ticket in 2012 (Jindal is my guess)....if that, and Palin has yet to prove the she can even handle an open press conference on her own let alone a full on primary fight.

It's kinda creepy the way you're so infatuated with her but then again the Repugs have been a delusional bunch for the better part of the last 20 years.

"You still have morons like Pelosi and Reed who are still the biggest boobs now in complete control of things but they can't even control their own party."

I thought it was Palin's out of control boobs that got this whole Victoria's Secret spending spree started in the first place.

How do we know that these aren't just staffers trying to smear her and buying things behind her back to put all the blame on her after the campaign is done.

Maybe you should include Palin's response to this...

"Governor Palin is focused on her duties as governor of the state of Alaska.

With that said, news reports concerning purchases of services and accessories are disappointing considering Governor Palin did not authorize the expenditures made on behalf of the vice presidential campaign. The Governor was not consulted about these immaterial and inconsequential decisions as she was busy focusing on the substantive areas of the campaign and running the state of Alaska. The decisions reflected in this disclosure are financially poor decisions made by campaign staffers hired by the campaign and not the Governor. The Governor expected judicious decisions to be made and they weren't.

She is absolutely appalled at the news and the amount of money reportedly spent on the vice presidential campaign. To this day, the Governor has not seen a list of expenses for the campaign and its staff, and she does not know who benefited from all the expenditures reported.

Seriously, how do you justify 180,000 in this economy? I'm not saying she's not smart, just that maybe she should have used those brains to read some newspapers and learn about Supreme Court cases and not just to figure out a way to fill her own closet with bras. AND don't tell me it's for charity--who wants used bras? Well, yeah I guess some one on Team Sarah would--
But if she does this to the RNC budget why would we put her in charge of the national one? Fiscal conservative? I think not.

Terry,

Please devote the next four years promoting Sarah Palin for president. I hope she makes a run. I will start my own personal Operation Chaos to help promote her endlessly. The fact that she is the hope and future of the republicant party brings me great joy. Maybe she can announce Dan Quayle as her running mate.
