"[Donald]Tomczak rewarded city workers who did political work with 'raises, promotions and overtime,'... Once his political marching orders came down, Tomczak would allegedly hold meetings during city work hours in city offices with Wesolowski and five to 10 other trusted employees to tell them what campaigns they were supporting and to round up 'volunteers, often city employees."

Among the politicians benefitting from Tomczak's political army were Daley, [Rahm] Emanuel..."

Today's news story (NY Times) that ObamaNews (aka the Tribune) won't report:

Yesterday the New York Times reported that Illinois businessman Raghuveer Nayak had offered to raise money for Gov. Blagojevich on behalf of Rep Jesse L. Jackson Jr.

The Times also reported that Mr. Nayak and his wife, Anita, have donated nearly $17,000 to Mr. Obama’s campaigns since 2003 and raised thousands more for Mr. Obama's 2004 Senate race from Chicago's Indian-American community...

According to Times, the governor attended a luncheon on October 31, at which Mr. Nayak told those in attendance that they needed to raise $1 million to support Mr. Jackson’s bid for the Senate. On Dec. 6, Mr. Nayak helped organize a fund-raising event for Mr. Blagojevich - and both the governor and Mr. Jackson’s brother, Jonathan, were there.

Federal investigators said they are looking into whether Mr. Nayak sought to raise $1 million for Mr. Blagojevich in exchange for the governor’s appointing Jackson to the Senate seat.

As usual, HopeNChange is wrong. That story was reported in the Trib on Dec. 12. But HopeNChange is more interested in innuendo than facts.

"As usual, HopeNChange is wrong. That story was repdorted in the Trib on Dec. 12... mort."

"mort" is wrong. Or perhaps merely illiterate. The main point of the New York Times article I cited was that Jackson/Blago fundraiser Nayak is also a bigtime Obama fundraiser--a point that the Dec. 12th Tribune article omitted.

Obama apologists would like to pretend that their Messiah had no connections with Blago or Jackson. Sadly for them, the truth is slowly leaking out.

Nothing wrong with "connections." Everyone politician and businessman in Chicago has some sort of connections with Blago, Jackson, Obama, etc. That's not news. You watch a little cable news these days and you would think every person in Illinois is tainted.

It's pretty obvious that 'HopeNChange' aka 'Teresa' is anxious to get back to fulltime vainly trying to tie Obama to Blago. What a sad bunch the Republic party is today.

HAHAHA!

"Nothing wrong with 'connections.'"

Not sure what that means. But there's definitely something wrong with City of Chicago employees doing campaign while on the job. Their being pressured to stump for Machine candidates would be bad enough if it were on their own time, but doing so during work hours is even worse.

MJ, if you read the post above mine, you would understand, I should think. It's certainly not what you are suggesting.

I missed the post above yours. Sorry.

Good for MJ; never saw anyone say "Sorry" on the Swamp before.

Flo, it happens on rare occasions.
