We don't often see the president-elect of the United States doing restaurant reviews.
And we only now are seeing this one, taped in 2001.
The producers of Chicago station WTTW's Check, Please! had been scouting for amateur reviewers. "The premise was simple: Check, Please! would feature three new amateur reviewers each week; each critic would pick a favorite restaurant and review it, then review the picks of the other two reviewers,'' the Tribune's Christopher Borelli has written.
The producer called Barack Obama, a state senator at the time. Obama chose Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop in Hyde Park. They shot in August 2001-- but the episode was shelved. It will be revived, however, for the program's 100th episode on Jan. 16, days before Obama's inauguration as the 44th president.
Why the nearly eight-year delay? Both Producer David Manilow and then-host Amanda Puck remember Obama's debut as a restaurant critic: He was "too good--too thoughtful, too articulate, not enough of an amateur. He ended up dominating the conversation,'' Borelli notes.
"It was unbalanced," Manilow said, "to put it charitably."

My heavens, the media fawning over the Mesiah Obama has gone from being ridiculously ridiculous to hysterically and absurdly ridiculous. The media's fawning. In fact, it's giving a whole new meaning to what Monica Lewinsky did to Bill Clinton on several occasions.

Maybe the hard hitting media that was able to dig this fluff up could also find a way to dig up anything Obama may have published in his phantom Harvard Law review days, or possibly his grades at Columbia that apparently propelled him inot Harvard? Or are all of the real investigative reporters still going thru Palin's underwear drawers?

His Columbia grades? what are you getting at? Is it just too hard for you to believe that a black man could have earned his way into Harvard by working hard and succeeding? What other politicians have you demanded to see the undergraduate transcripts of? Any? I bet it's only those that you believe only got by because of affirmitive action. Deep down you know he stole that spot from a more deserving white guy, right?

Ok- all clairvoyance, mind reading, and ridiculous assertions aside
Obama did not graduate from Columbia with honors, this is known- -(Columbia Univ has confirmed his poli sci degree w/o honors)... then 5 years later, he is enrolled in Harvard Law School.
Harvard Law School is not easy to get into, thousands of applicants trying to get into a couple of hundred of hundred seat. The LSAT scores required are usually in the 98th or 99th percentile range with grade point averages between 3.80 and 3.95.
So - you can make this a racial conversation if you want - you will be talking to yourself- but the facts are that it appears that Obama did not get into Harvard the conventional way

Let me give you a hint, rather than looking at the affirmitive action boogie man, look at what Obama did in those 5 years between Columbia and Harvard. Admission isn't all about grades, especially for an applicant who has had significant work experience between college and law school.
But i'm sure you'll keep on with your victim mentality that as a white man you are part of an oppressed group. You see it all as being about race. You look at a successful balck man and YOU see affirmative action, rather than earned success.
