The White House website, whitehouse.gov successfully made the transition along with President Obama.
It looks a lot like the change.gov site which was used by Obama's presidential transition but is now defunct.
President Bill Clinton was the first president to have an official White House website and when President George W. Bush took office in 2001, the Clinton site, like Clinton's Oval Office rug, was changed out for a new look.
As one would expect, new and improved presidential websites incorporate newer sensibilities in website design as well as the latest technologies. Flash video technology wasn't around in 2001 when Bush's techies launched their site, for instance.

Frank, we expect transparency on this web site as promised. You and the Swamp bloodhounds keep it honest and the dedicated Swamp readers timely and intelligently informed, sniff out those midnight changes. Maybe can some of the fluff pieces, Obama is the President now. Sorry Mark, we know the color of Michelle outfit. Just kidding! Thanks to all for the site, great coverage today!

I posted this transition 90 minutes before you! SCOOP! Although the Trib, as always, did a better job with links to the initial Clinton and Bush websites. Nice job!
