The Chrysler Corp. is one of those struggling American enterprises which Washington is attempting to bail out -- once again -- though one trusts the TARP is not made of soft Corinthian leather.
And Ricardo Montalban represented Chrysler the way no one has ever since.
Which is how we've come to justify this retrospective, 60-second look at Chrysler's finest one-sixtieth of an hour, here in the Swamp. No Fantasy Island here.
He was 88. May the man, the voice, rest in peace.

RIP - Ricardo Montalban
I'll never forget the opening line for Fantasy Island - "The plane, the plane!"

RICARDO MONTALBAN and his "...rich Corinthian leather" exemplifying the nobilities of Chrysler both consigned to the ultimate fantasy isle. Or maybe he was just an illegal who found work in Hollywood and as a foil for Captain Kirk and Officer Spock???

Was his coffin lined with "reech coreenthian leather"?
No disrespect, of course. RIP Ricardo, you are missed!

I will miss you, kind sir. I have been a fan since the age of five when I first saw you in Fiesta. God bless and Godspeed, mi amigo.

Montalban epitomized the suave host image; and he did a great job in the Wrath of Kahn too! he will be missed.
