Sarah Palin shopping for a book deal?

$11 million for the story of the hockey-mom from Alaska who ran for vice president?

Michael Muskal of the Los Angeles Times writes that Robert Barnett of the Washington legal world, the book deal czar, is working with Palin. Barnett sealed the book deals for both Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton.

Barnett has declined to comment, our colleague notes. "But a variety of published sources, including the Hollywood Reporter, said that Barnett was on board in helping to sell a Palin book....

"Presumably, the book would tell her side of the 2008 presidential election, when the GOP nominee, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, plucked Palin out of relative obscurity and offered her the vice presidential spot. Though she was a darling of conservatives and ignited the Republican base whenever she appeared in public, Palin has made it known that she had a difficult time with McCain's strategists.''

Palin, whose family is not wealthy, could earn a great deal from such a book. In recent months, "reports of her wanting as much as $11 million for her memoirs have surfaced, though she could get far less,'' Muskal notes.

Former First Lady Laura Bush just sold her memoirs for less than $2 million. But she was a librarian. Imagine what a pit-bull turned hockey mom with a little lipstick can fetch.

Three cheers for the Hockey Mom, just show her love for America.

I understand the title to be....I can see for miles.

What, $11 milion for an 8 page pop-up book? If only her constituency could read, but - then, she wouldn't have a constituency, now would she?
This... broad's 15 minutes of fame should have been over long - long ago!
A 'Palin-book', a self contained oxymoron from a moron. Don't waste the paper.

Book deal? Sarah is going to read a book? Cool.

Palin write a book? Ho ho ho hee hee hee, oh please stop, heee heee hee ho ho ho

Wow, maybe in the book she can explain how it is that she can see Russia from her house...or maybe she'll tell us how she handles it when Putin raises his ugly head into US terrories :)

SO now we can have a Book Burning

Talk about unearned income....
I really have nothing to say, but would not want to disappoint Bemused. I hope Gov. Palin includes in her book more of her analysis of the Bush Doctrine.

I wouldn't be surprised if Palin spends that $11 million within a month.

If she actually wrote it, I'd buy it.

Of course, one should expect it to be edited. We can all do well to have an editor.

But if it's ghost written, it will be entirely worthless.

Of course, even NOW, at this point, it might be worthless. She'll be running for the presidency in 4 or 8 years. She's not going to want to spill the beans entirely.

Suggested title: "Dreams of My Mother."

How cool, Archie Bunker is posting here! Well Archie, at least you got the illiterate part correct.

I love the irony! Calling a woman a "broad" and at the same time condescendingly attacking her intelligence. I bet some of your best friends are (insert minority group here).

I understand that posting to forum like this allows for a lot of flexibility in grammar, punctuation, and syntax- so I may be going out on a limb here when I say that if you are going to call someone ( or an entire constituency) stupid you probably want to try to write somewhere higher than a 3rd grade level...

ghostwriters? you betcha!

I hope she forgoes this book writing and takes care of the starving and freezing people in Alaska she is supposed to govern. For more info go to http://www.themudflats.net/2009/01/15/alaskas-rural-villages-in-crisis-update/

Ok, This confirms it. We have had enough of this nobody that knows nothing!

So tell the truth, did you not read "It Takes a Village," then? The New York Times and several other media outlets have reported that it was actually written by ghostwriter Barbara Feinman.
Unlike many of the snarks here, I would love to read Mrs. Palin's book. Thanks to her foresight her state has a surplus while California, New York and many of the enlightened states are begging the federal government for money. Thanks to her recently announced plan, her state will soon jump from getting an already impressive 25% of its energey from renewable sources to getting 50% of its energy that way in two years. And without one cent of federal aid. Whether the haters want to admit it or not, the truth is obvious: Palin's Alaska is a success story.

Jeez, what a putz Mark.

She's the Govenor of Alaska, a former mayor, who ran for VP of the US, who also happens to be a hockey mom.

Oh but it's OK for a community activist, with no real acomplishemnts to write a book or 2, and the MSM praises and fawns over it?

What a double standard.

Good for you Sarah Palin! The good ole American Way.

Hahahahah! hahahahaha!!! hahahahahha!!!

$11 million? Do they really believe they will sell enough books to make that up?

How long before she gives an interview to say that she was taken out of contextr or misquoted in her book?

$11M buys a lot of down home clothes from elitist, liberal, values denigrating stores.

Sarah the Blunder Woman's book should sell pretty well because it will probably be filled with lots of pictures and small words as to make it readable for the low IQ Repuglican crowd who are her supporters.

The old adage says that it is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove any doubt. Palin should keep her mouth shut.

Wait until somebody asks her a question about the book and she has to admit that she hasn't read it.

Good far Sarah Palin!

The only bad thing is when Obama finds out he'll levy a wind-fall profit tax on her money...it's the socialist thing to do.

Paulo

Will this be a tell-all about her daughter's baby-daddy and his drug dealing mom? Welcome to the family! Otherwise, I ain't buyin'.

Well, I sure hope she respects her family's privacy and never mentions them once in her book. I'd hate to see a media figure like her use them to profit off of book sales. Her family is completely off limits after all.

She should co-write it with Joe-the-Plumber. They could title it "Beauty and the Least.'

Seriously, 11 million???? WTF, does it have alot of pictures and pit bull/makeup tips?

Hey Libs, I thought this was a new era and the attacks would stop. Didn't you hear Bambi's speech on Tuesday?

So now Palin will be richer by $11 million thanks to the "vicious" and "liberal" and "elitist" media? As ironic as Cheney in a wheelchair for the inauguration...

http://www.political-buzz.com/

Somebody is going to give Palin $11MM... I'm buying Nieman-Marcus stock. They are about to get a big boost.

$11 million? Do they really believe they will sell enough books to make that up?

Posted by: Stacey | January 22, 2009 4:34 PM

Stacey- My guess is the book will be a best seller... ignoring the political slant of your leading question- consider this;

Contrary to popular, MSM fueled reports and whether you believe it or not-Obama did not get 100% of the vote in this recent election!
__
The reality is that almost half of this country disliked Obama's politics and vaguely communicated plans enough to NOT vote for him.
___
Now when you consider that 60M people voted for the Republican ticket of McCain/Palin, with a huge portion of that base voting for what they hoped was a distinct move to the right with a conservative like Palin's selection...you better believe that her book will sell enough to offset that $11M.
__

Her compelling impact on the recent election is not anything to be ignored- it shook Obama up enough to put him , the prez candidate, at the outset of her nomination, to actually stoop so low as to get into a debate in the media with Palin, the vice prez candidate...

I suspect you might even be inclined to buy the book- or at least borrow it from someone..

Alaska is a welfare state sucking on the teet of the federal government of the United States of America. That's why there taxes are low, that's why they have a surplus. She's done nothing remarkable that any previous governor hasn't been able to do with respect to the state budget. Oh yeah and pre-being selected to being McCain's running mate she was quoted as saying that Obama's tax plan would be very good for the citizens of Alaska. She'll say anything to get elected. She'll even tax Oil corporations on their profits. Sounds like a socialist to me.

She's going to end up owing the publisher a lot of money. Not only is there not much of a market for this, but the market that exists for it consists of people who will throw the book aside the moment they run across the first word longer than four letters long.

Remember Sarah, it's an advance, not a paycheck.

The only bad thing is when Obama finds out he'll levy a wind-fall profit tax on her money...it's the socialist thing to do.

Yep, no more tax cuts for the rich do nothing criminal Repugs....now THAT is change that I can believe in.

Heartburn - the problem with your argument is that you assume that all 60M of those people actually knew anything about Obama's politics. Its sad, but I would guess that 80% of the people either thought Obama was a Muslim, disliked him because he was black, or only ever vote for the Republican. There really is no other explanation why the poorest states in the union, who would benefit the MOST from Obama's policies, would not vote for him.

Caribou Barbie, exciting and new, she can see Russia from her porch, yet still hasn't a clue.

I agree and as a Dem I'm going to do everything in my power to help her on her quest to become the 2012 Repuglican Prez nominee. I'll even donate money to her effort.
Enjoy the book, Pre Puke.
I'm sure it will have lots of pictures of moose and meth labs and big LETTERED writing so that even dimwits like you can understand it.

Also, and so, gosh darn it, you betcha.
the end

It is a sad day when a publisher would consider paying Palin a dime. Much less that sort of figure..As previously stated above by many bloggers..WHAT WILL SHE SAY???Will it be a 10 day book with 5 pages of it defending her children??Hello!!.She wanted to be in the spotlight and paraded them everywhere in the limelight. Very selfish of her..She has NOTHING we want to hear or read. We want her to go away..It takes far more than a pretty, plastic face to run this country...

So tell the truth, did you not read "It Takes a Village," then? The New York Times and several other media outlets have reported that it was actually written by ghostwriter Barbara Feinman.

Posted by: Jeff | January 22, 2009 4:23 PM

Jeff,

No, I did not read "It Takes a Village." I'm sure it was ghost-written.

As for the "Miracle on Alaskan Ice," I'd take into account the relatively small size of the Alaskan population. With the oil money the state takes in, they shouldn't ask for ANY federal money - given the number of people they have to support.

I'd also have to check the health and welfare of the indigenous people before I passed judgment on Palin's government.

Smitty, so you're saying that getting 25% of the entire state's (the largest by area in the nation) electricity from natural resources and upping thay by to 50% in two years is "nothing remarkable?" Why hasn't anyone else been able to do it, then? Why is California trying to get even 20%? Why is no other state setting its goals for 50% like Alaska is?
If the state can build an 800 mile oil pipeline and a 1,700 mile natural gas pipeline (happened under Palin's watch), it should be able to construct transmission lines for renewably sourced electricity as well.
While the rest of our states (Pennsyvania, California, New York) are mired in budget he-double hockey sticks, Alaska is increasing its oil and gas surplus checks to its residents.
That's not socialism, that's charging the oil companies EXACTLY what their partnership with the people of Alaska and their land is worth.
I suggest you angry people get over it. I know the suggestion will go in one ear and out the other but there will come a day when you realize that the campaign is over and that demonizing someone else to make Obama look good won't help you anymore.
You've won the presidency. You have control of both houses of congress. Why are you all still so angry? Could it be because there are tough times ahead for ALL americans regardless of the letter in front of their names? And you're already trying to deflect blame.
Sarah Palin has an 80% approval rating from Alaska's citizens. If you stop ranting and open up your ears long enough you might just learn something.

Whats to fall for- ? Her story, regardless of your politics is compelling...

She was a factor that almost made the weakest republican candidate in years the president...

I'll bet they'll sell a ton of them at WalMart.

WHAT???

You would have to be a 28 year old community organizer to get approached to write a book about race relations for that kind of deal.

Miss a deadline, but that's OK, because you then gets another big contract with a $40,000 advance.

But the real killer is how, having gotten a contract based on a proposal for a book about race relations, Obama pulls a bait-and-switch, and instead delivers ... a memoir.

Palin is a freeloader.

$150,000 shopping sprees (at all the best "elitist" shops, no less), on the Republican National Committee tab.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14805.html

$21,012 worth of free flights for her daughters, charged to the state.
http://www.boston.com/news/politics/2008/articles/2008/10/22/alaska_paid_for_palin_daughters_to_travel/

All this, when she already makes $125,000 a year as governor and pockets an extra $22,883 in energy extraction royalties.

Sarah Palin is a chisler supreme.

All of which makes the fact that she charged $16,951 in expenses charged to the state, including 312 per diem allowances for staying in her own home just that much more amazing.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/08/AR2008090803088.html

A dual income family, with Sarah earning $125K. Free travel (even for the family), and now free clothes, hair and makeup. They can actually go out in her backyard and shoot a moose, keeping her family in free mooseburger for a year. And still she feels the need to cheat. Shoot that moose for free and still charge the state $60 per burger. And she claims she deserves every bit of it.

Now that's what I call a perverse sense of entitlement.

"Sounds like socialism to me," to borrow a phrase.

Just another fake "bootstrapper" Republican. What a shocker.

Meanwhile, we all have to endure the indignity of Palin turning the campaign for the Vice Presidency into some kind of FOX reality TV makeover show, where they take some ridiculously not-ready-for-prime-time pol and dress her up, push her out on the stage, and see if they can turn her into a VP in 10 weeks.

What the heck, right? It was just being second in line to the nuclear launch codes. No big thing. We could even do a whole copromotional deal with moose sandwiches at Subway.

Maybe Palin ought to be worried about the people who are starving and have no heating oil in her state and not so worried about selling a book to the low IQ Reublican hordes who don't know any better and are more than willing to buy anything she's selling because of it.

Is she having attention withdrawals because nobody has interviewed her in a couple weeks or what?

Thanks, Republicans. You sure do love our country n' stuff.

I hope she outlines her parenting abilities. You know, the 'abstinence only' theories of child rearing.

If you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it. Palin's lie to the American people is: I am intelligent and I have a story worth reading. Give me a break.

What??

How does a publisher figure they'll make a profit writing a book about a new governor from Alaska who ran as an unqualified candidate for vice-president?

Hey publisher! Write a book about me & give me a couple million. It would be far more interesting and enlightening then anything another conservative has-been can give you.

Palin will do anything to keep her 15 minutes going as long as possible. Sadly (for her, not america), a book won't help her run for president any time this century.

Perhaps Sarah Palin can use the $11M to purchase a lifetime subscription to The Economist and all of the other deep-thought publications she reads each week. Or perhaps she can use it to bail her son-in-law's mom out of jail. Or maybe pay for the paternity test that proves that "her" infant son is really her child.

I do have to agree with Heartburn though, there certainly are enough religious right, Red State voters that would buy her book to justify a book deal of some sort. Not that she has much of real value to impart to anyone, but she can validate her supporters lives by telling them over and over that they are the "real Americans" and the rest of us are interloping heathens who are ruining America. (For the record, I am a wealthy, white, educated, married, "self-loathing", progressive suburban male)

The truth is that Barack Obama should pay John McCain the $11M, because without his disasterous VP nomination of Palin, Obama would likely still be in the US Senate watching the McCain-Romney administration try to tackle our economic crisis.

And I hate to pop any bubbles of delusion, but I am willing to bet what little equity I have left in my home as a result of the Bush Depression, that come 2012, Sarah Palin will not be the Republican nominee. You only get one chance to make a first impression with the American people and, like Dan Qualye, Sarah failed with all but a small sliver of the American electorate - the so-called conservative "values" voters.

And the times are a little too serious right now for anyone but a small fraction of the population to worry about who has a right to marry whom and whether America's moral fiber is going to hell in a handbasket. So all y'all are going to have to find a new god-fearing, gun-toting, moose-hating, real American wedge-issue candidate to bond onto in four years. But fear not, another will surely rise from the ashes of the 2008 electoral rout. And sweet Sarah will watch it all from her $11 Million Alaskan mansion, paid for by her 15 minutes of infamy on the national stage.

Can't wait to buy it or see it on Okra. She deserves that much and more. Look at President Hussein's book, Dreams of my Father. You mean the one who didn't raise you but abandoned you? What a laugh. Wouldn't buy that piece of garbage if someone gave me the money to buy it. I would read self made Sarah Palin though. She deserves respect from all of those illiterate self righeous slobs called liberals.

The first bomb of 2009

Yayy! GO SARAH WHILE WE STILL CAN! By that I mean, I may be wrong but isn't her husband the white male owner of a white male construction company? They were disenfrachised today, folks.

I can see it now! Rave reviews from Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, et. al. Hundreds of TV interviews (2 in Alaska). Book signings across the entire country. A great run-up to 2016. What a country!

Liberals - you're all suckers. You all have plenty to say about a supposed 'non-entity' like Sarah Palin. If she REALLY didn't matter to you, you would ignore her and all coverage of her. But you don't. You keep wailing and screaming about what an idiot she is, what a chisler, dimwit, etc. You can't leave her alone. Why? What tickles me to no end is that we won't see the last of her PRECISELY because of you silly liberals. For that, I thank you.

Man I am hoping this catches a hold -----------------

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

WASHINGTON – More than 7 million poor people who are elderly, blind or disabled and receive cash benefits averaging $477 a month could get an extra monthly payment as part of President-elect Barack Obama's $800 billion economic recovery plan.
Democratic congressional aides said the idea of an extra Supplemental Security Income payment is gaining traction on Capitol Hill as lawmakers and staff aides hold daily meetings to work out details of the upcoming stimulus bill. The aides spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the closed-door negotiations.

Democratic lawmakers hope to have an economic stimulus bill ready for Obama's signature by mid-February, although officials indicated Monday night that numerous provisions are unsettled.

Several said the emerging legislation likely will provide at least $70 billion over the next two years to help states meet the demand for Medicaid, which provides health care for low income people, and another $25 billion more to help individuals who cannot afford to pay for private, post-employment health benefits.

An estimated $35 billion is tentatively ticketed for additional unemployment benefits.

The tax provisions remain in flux, with Obama's call for a break for companies that create new jobs described by Democratic officials as all but dead. Several Democrats prefer to use the funds to make sure upper middle class families are not ensnared by the alternative minimum tax.

Democrats are more favorably inclined toward Obama's proposal for a tax break for lower-paid individuals and couples, of up to $500 and $1,000.

The officials who described the provisions did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss the details.

The idea of a one-time, additional SSI payment this year would cost about $4 billion, which would go to more than 7 million poor people enrolled in the program. Most of them are disabled, though about 2 million poor seniors would also benefit.

The relatively low cost of the idea seems to help its chances, though it's not a sure bet to be included in the final economic recovery package, which will blend tax cuts for individuals and businesses with huge spending initiatives such as aid to state governments, an increase in local school aid, and infrastructure projects such as road and bridge construction and repair.

"It's in the package as of now," said an aide to a top House leader.

The idea meets one of Obama's key criterion for the stimulus bill, which is to speed money into the hands of people who are likely to spend it. One criticism of last year's $600-1,200 tax rebate checks to individuals and couples was that many people simply saved the money or paid down debt instead of injecting it into the economy through spending.

Even with their monthly checks, SSI recipients remain in poverty, and they're more likely to spend the money quickly.

"These people are extremely poor," said Bob Greenstein, founder of the liberal Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. "I certainly think, and I think the Obama people have thought that this is a very sound stimulus idea. It would have one of the highest bangs for the buck."

Obama transition spokesman Nick Shapiro would not confirm that Obama supports the idea. The transition has been tightlipped about many elements of the economic recovery package as it is being negotiated.

Supplemental Security Income delivers payments of up to $637 per month to individuals and $956 to couples. About one-fourth of recipients are 65 or older.

More and more literary forensic evidence is coming out that Obama was greatly helped by Bill Ayers in writing his book. The style, prose etc closely matches Ayers' style. Obama had trouble writing his first book and that's why his first publisher dropped him. Ayers came in and helped him.
Obama is a fake. The left knows it but they will protect him as they did during the election. And now the US will pay dearly for putting this putz into office.

Go Sarah, I love ya!!!!

Sarah Palin-Tonya Harding 2012!

Caroline Kennedy is GONE, shouldn´t Palin be on that same bus?

Palin putting out a book?

I was not one who voted for the Lady but talk about hate in this country for someone who was part of the party we disliked. I feel sorry for her, she was picked only because she was a woman and the Republican Hacks wanted that Clinton vote. What a bunch of AHs to throw someone under the tracks when they cannot get extra miles out of her. We go right ahead an jopin them and keep the fires going under her, foe what I ask. We are no better then the Republican Hacks that started all of this. I hope you all sleep well, great to be an American Veteran.

Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffft!

None of Sarah Palin's Kids ever played hockey-her first lie was that she was a 'hockey mom'...she might be amom who attended hockey games but was not a 'hockey mom' .

It's a free country, If Sarah Palin can get $11 million for a book, and some publisher is willing to pay it, you go, girl!

When a guy can get $25.2 million a year for playing a child's stick and ball game, win or lose, and fired disk jockeys get a couple of million a year for staying home and doing nothing, $11 million for a book over the byline of someone who captured the imagination of many Americans (after all, some 60 million of us voted for her) doesn't seem like so much.

Don't know if I'll read it, though.

Yes, Sarah´s book will be fantabulous! It will be her autobiography, A WORK OF FICTION, but ALSO TOO, it will have Yummy recipes for Moosemeat & Spam casseroles!!! YUM & YAY TEAM!!!!
Sarah Palin-Tonya Harding 2012!!!!

I predict 300 pages of endless whining about how mistreated she was, how much of a meany Katie Couric is, and how unfair every question ever asked of her was.

... And then, taking the precedent from Republicans, all we need to do is to insist it's not really real and start yammering (as you did) for the REAL really real one and not accept any document at all as really really real enough.

Me? I say she was maybe never born in America at all. She may CLAIM she was born in Idaho of American parents, but I bet there's proof out there somewhere that she was really born in Russia (probably can see her birthplace from her back window) and snuck into the country as a sleeper.

I wonder if she'll mention anywhere that the world is flat and planet Earth is 6,000 years old and that she can see Russia from her window. Is this book. Anyone who really believes what this lady has to say probably also believes in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

Note to Elitists:

Thinking you're smarter than Sarah Palin does not make you so. Nor does reading the Economist, for all that matter.

Trust me on this.

Is this woman craier than we thought? She is trying to compete with people having law degrees and doctorats degrees. She is her own fan club. This almost destroyed John McCain's reputation. Where was she when her daugher got pregnant? She is white trash!

But I can see the ocean from my house.....that "does" make me an oceanographer/ marine biologist doesn't it?

People are sick and tired of hearing about Palin. Just try a seach on google and you will find many.

What is Palin talking about a new bookdeal? She said the same thing last Nov. and was asking seven million. It was discussed in great detail, and the fact is that people usually don't get above $100000, and then a portion of the sales.

Palin has been seeking attention again, she needs to tend to her work as gov. and stop trying to get any more attention. She is a sore loser.

I hope she tells her secret to success, while 41 states are in financial trouble, Alaska has a surplus and she's already planning ahead. You can google her "State of the State" address 2 days ago to see what a fine executive she is.

You are a cute women but your speeches were alsome also i picted both because isnt it that people want to make money because its hi and thats how we get our money. But i vote for demercrats so yall know yall wasnt going to win so oh well

As long as there's a ghost-writer I won't be giving Sarah any money for her book.....UNLESS she actually writes it her very own self, word-for-word then it would be great comedic reading. If she made it into a pop-up book it would sell even better....pop-up rifle....pop-up beluga whales...pop-up polar bears....pop-up fruit flies, pop-up children, etc.. Then after that I'll buy the paper-doll book with the lost cut-out wardrobe.

Another lie put out by the corrupt MSM.

When will you loonies learn.

WITH ALL THE LAYOFFS GOING ON, HOW CAN SOMONE PAY HER MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR NOTHING TO SAY. I HOPE THAT COMPANY GOES BROKE, FOR BAD JUDGEMENT

Does anyone actually know if this deal has been finalized – I would be very surprised for if this were to happen? Publishing business is just that a business that is looking to make a profit and it seems that people like me would boycott all future books published by any publisher who would insult people of America as to pay this nobody from tundra $11 mil. I don’t thing that her bible loving folks would be eager to support a millionaires and from what I saw on the news they don’t seem particularly interested in books of any kind. So back to publishing business – it is in a business of making money and there is no money to be made from this deal. I just looked up Palin’s bio on the internet and it is not very interesting – a woman that cannot name any magazines or books that she enjoys reading and someone who attended five colleges in her attempt to get a BA. This lady is a mother of college age kids, yet non are in college – one in the army, one is a high school drop out teenage mother – this is simply not interesting.

Funnnnnny, the publishers should realize that Palin's supporters are made up of rednecks and hatemongers. The don't read. Well, at at least it will become inventory for dollar stores and markdowns. HAHAHA

Amazing how the mere mention of Palin's name brings out the HATE squad. The reality is palin has accomplished more than her critics, more than most of you whinning detractors. Whereas there is absolutely NO INJURY to any of you, yet you feel free to be hateful? Curious why that is. Curious how hateful this country has become. How were we taught that?

LOLOLOL!!! Obama had Bill Ayers write his book... at least Palin can write!!! Dreams of my Father was a JOKE!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clearly, the majority of these readers are mindless twits.

She's far brighter and more talented than the vast majority of people commenting here. You don't have to agree with her. Most are haters because she's a beautiful woman. Alaska, or not, she became governor.

Sarah Palin is a nitwit, as am I for even bothering to waste the time to say so.
