The Senate later today is expected to confirm several of President Obama's Cabinet choices -- but only those uncontroversial enough to be approved by voice vote.
It is not yet clear exactly which ones will come up, but it will not include Eric Holder to be Attorney General,Tom Daschle as Health and Human Services Secretary and Treasury designee Timothy Geithner -- nominations that have not yet been approved by the relevant committees because of continued scrutiny of their records.
The Senate also will not approve Hillary Rodham Clinton as Secretary of State because one senator-- John Cornyn (R-Texas)-- objected to confirming her without a roll call vote.
He wants fuller discussion of and disclosure of the donations to Bill Clinton's foundation from foreign entities.
None of Obama's nominees are expected to be defeated, even if they are not all approved immediately.

What sort of a political stunt is this to pull on the day of Obama's historic nomination - and, more importantly, the day before the new president convenes his military and foreign policy cabinet members and advisors at the White House. I Cornyn endangering national security by petulantly blocking Hillary? Fair question...

Anti-Second Amendment gun-grabber Eric Holder ought to be rejected outright.
