The Swamp

by Mark Silva

It's been a long day for Bobby Jindal, governor of Louisiana and Republican Party poster candidate. Praised by allies, ridiculed by opponents, likened to Kenneth of 30 Rock, mocked by Chris Matthews of Hardball.

But as a coda of sorts comes this report from 60 Minutes, which will feature the young governor in a profile this weekend.

Jindal has a long time to play his political hand, suggests former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in the profile reported by CBS News' Morley Safer.

Jindal "will automatically be a major contender for the presidency for many, many years,'' Gingrich tells Safer. "Remember, he'll be the same age as John McCain -- 34 years from now.'' McCain, the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, is 72.

Look for the "palinizing" of this conservative to begin in earnest. Nice start from the Swamp.

Bobby;
That's all ya got? Seriously?
The leader of a 3rd world state claims to have the answers?
America;
Check out the neighborhoods in 'Slumdog Millionaire' to see Bobby's conception of a thriving economy.

Unfair? Just remember "Obama is a Muslim."

Friendly advice to Terry, heartburn, Jeff, Bill, John D, Juanito, LLD, Stan, John W., Leo T. (Terry)
Buddy, ya gotta change horses!

For some reason I like the guy. Him and Obama could work well together.

Palin/Jindal - 2012 Cannot wait until the SNL Skits begin to appear. You have an Exorcist/Witch Doctor all on one ticket. If that is the best the GOP has than let the fun begin.

Once again, Republicans blew it! THAT speech was supposed to propel Piyush into national spotlight? lmao! It just made the Republicans look a lot more like a big joke!

Bobby Jindal has brought his fore fathers caste system from India with him to America and that goes very well with the right wing.
Bobby Jindal forgets it was the tax payers who poured billions of Dollars in his state after the hurricane struck. He looks good as a honorable white.

Mr. Jindal's Neighborhood:
----
It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

It's a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?

Won't you please,
Won't you please,
Please won't you be my neighbor?

Hi television neighbor, I'm Bobby Jindal, the "new" face of the Repblican party and I'm glad we're together again....

Now that the Republican party has it's 2 token people of color....they'll capture all of those votes that went to Obama and take over the government again?

What they're trying to do is so transparent that even a person with the intelligence of a lizard can see through it.

I would like nothing better than seeing these political clown Repugs continuing with their current no-win strategy. This would mean that they will remain irrelevant in American politics for many, many years.

And this guy (Jindal) is supposed to be among the smartest of the Republican party? Being the smartest Republican is like being the tallest of the 7 Dwarfs. It doesn't mean much.....

What an insult to Fred R. His show was intended for 5 year olds.

Jindal was actually talking to adults like they were 5 year olds.

Jindal didn't communicate much empathy for anyone except for himself. Who told Jindal to smile? Bad advice.

wow, its apparent that the left is feeling a little inadequete today. I guess Obama's campaign speech last night didn't give them confidence in him. Oh well.....looks like its back to the "republicans are like dumb n stuff" to shelter their fragile egos.

I think the left is catching on that in less than 2 months...America is cathcing on. I guess only SNL can save them.

HA HA

If it sounded like Piyush Jindal was targeting his speech to a room full of fourth graders, that's because he was. They might be the next people to actually vote for Republicans again.

Yes, the Republican party is becoming quite transparent -- it is aping the Dems. Is there so little substance to the current Republicans that they can choose candidates just based on age, sex, race, and appearance? They have no philosophy? Just a bunch of talking points?

This makes me think the ones who pull the levers behind the scenes don't really care who is in charge; they're all just Patsies.

This young fellow Bobby will rock America and take this beautiful country to next heights. You people criticizing, read what has he done great in short time for state like Louisiana, surely he has guts to change America. One best thing you can do is support him. God bless America.

Jindal seemed foreign in every way. His championing of Republican health care ideas and refusing moneyed for the newly unemployed in his state made it seem like he wasn't even talking about this time in this country.

Gimme a break. The Repubs have made a discovery: put a person of color into a prominent position regardless of credentials or skills; then they can snipe at Obama without being accused of being racists -- they think.

Romney is our only hope.

He's no more lackluster than anyone else in that sea of sad sacks that we saw in the chamber the other night. If some of them weren't so old they might make good day laborers for some of those pork projects they just passed, if you stay on them that is.The two party system is beat. It's inefficient, corrupt and complacent and it's purpose is mainly to perpetuate itself at our expense.
Unfortunately, for real working Americans, they didn't even consider the "First do no harm" of the Hippocratic Oath when they passed this behemoth of a spending bill.
Not only is it a lot of money but because of the layers of bureaucracy involved you will be lucky to get 30 cents on the dollar in terms of real value. I'm pretty pissed about it.
Rep or Dem, they've been fooling most people successfully for a long time now. They've even got you doing their dirty work for them. It's very unproductive. This country swerves left to right like some drunk on a highway and we're coming to the end of the road now. It's way passed time to sober up.

In a world of democratic hatred for all things republican, the vile motor mouth-mauling blood pressure riser Matthews could not contain his hatred and made pronouncement on sighting, before even a word was spoken. Jindal was, in effect, a lamb before the slaughter, especially following the collective mesmerism of which Obama is the nucleus. Jindal sincerely introduced himself and enabled viewers to understand a bit of his circumstance, and then gave a statement regarding fundamental differences between the two parties.
Jindal's sincerity and manner is so refreshing, and it has this advantage over Obama, it's honest.
Obama plays with words and posture, facilitated by an atmosphere of the devoted willing. Much of what he said was sound- good available logic, but he himself is only manipulating from a a more subtle basis. In spite of the put down perceptions, Jindal was on honest ground. And in politics that is worthy of respect, while the shallow victims of hatred succumb and throw their eggs.

This Jingles is wooden, is governor of one of the poorest states in the U.S. and reads directly off a teleprompter. He's the great Republican hope for 2012. Wow.

Bobby Jindal's presidential aspirations blew up Tuesday night like a cheap condom on the end of a fire hose.

This is where Bobby Jindal got his talking point from:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0cpjhTRO28

What Jindal has done is take 150 billion of your tax dollars to help Louisiana recover from Katrina, which is as it should be. But where does he come off saying that recovery has happened because he cut taxes? Imagine how a poor state like LA would be if they only relied on Jindal and not the federal monies for recovery. He must take his cue from Palin.

"put a person of color into a prominent position regardless of credentials or skills;"

Um...isn't it obvious that the Dems thought of this first?
If not Obama then how about Burris?

I thought this guy bobby jindal's speech and message was very good. Did some research afterward and was knocked over by his accomplishments at 37 yrs old. Its obvious that his life thus far has been all about action and not talk. Yes, jindal is not a talker but a doer by all accounts of what he has done and accomplished. I will be watching this young man in the next four years. There is something there to watch for, he may just be the genius nerdy kid that will just turn this great ship around to better days.
