It was the 'stagecraft' of the governor's walk-out, the Hardball host says.

Chris Matthews has an explanation for that "My God'' that he uttered as Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana was making his way to the microphone for his televised response to the president's address to Congress last night.

Matthews plans to explain it tonight on his MSNBC Hardball show, according to the Huffington Post's Jason Linkins.

Linkins has an early look at the story line, according to an NBC spokesperson:

"I was taken aback by that peculiar stagecraft,'' Matthews says, "the walking from somewhere in the back of this narrow hall, this winding staircase looming there, the odd anti-bellum [sic] look of the scene. Was this some mimicking of a president walking along the state floor to the East Room?''

That's his story, and he's stickin....

Jindal, for his part, has declined an invitation to appear on Hardball.

Clearly this was a "remember the good old days" framing of his entrance, etc.. But soon the REpugs will realize the wind done gone outta their sails for years. HOpefully.
But I am NOT HOPING for an end to the OIL WAR so long as our prez keeps using the phrase clean coal. I mean damn.
And the killing of civilians over there---the record mutilation of our own troops, and the unholy use of MERCENARIES instead of our military serves to psychologically distance us from the war. And that's wrong.
We're sending 'advisors' to Pakistan. Same as we did to Afghanistan. (And now we're sending 17,000 more troops!?). Same as we did in El Slave-a dor.
Same as we did in Vietnam.
Only we've sort of come to terms with Vietnam.

And who in the world does Chris Matthews think he is?
He is a blooming idiot. I have never in my life seen such an idiot. His opinion is of little importance to anything in this world. OH GOD! HERE COMES CHRIS MATTHEWS!

Mathews, hehehehehehe

This is the guy that has a man-crush on the President, right.

Imagine what he'd do with a life size cutout of the President. He's probably finish up speechless or screaming with tingles running up "both/all" legs. oohh

Sorry, I couldn't help it. He said the tingling thing NOT ME, correct.

Matthews was right. Jindal is appealing to old fashioned southern racists out of gone with the wind. Once we get around to relocating all of the residents merrily kept away from New Orleans, the repugs there will say the wind done gone outta the party.
BUT THE BIGGER ISSUE IS WHY WHY WHY IS THIS PREZ CONTINUING THE OIL WAR?

Chris just stated what a lot of Americans were thinking about Jindal.

I would have thought Chris would have made the "oh God" remark AFTER Jindal's "speech"

LOL

I agree with Chris Matthews. Watching Piyush Jindal last night was like watching Inky give a state of the union speech from his bedroom.

Chris Matthews long ago gave up any semblance of being an objective journalist. He should now be treated as what he is, nothing more than a shill for the Obama administration paid for and subsidized by the administration's favorite network.

Not sure now, was it a thrill, or a tingle, anyway it's still an oohh

The indefensible comment by Mr. Matthews is typical of the current state of our media. The mainstream media is nothing more than a politically motivated organ of left leaning Democrats.

Mr. Matthews should once again be relagated to second tier reporter status uuntil he regains some balance in his outlook

The new face of the Republic party:

Chris Matthews nailed it. The Republicans are like a company selling a beverage no one likes and instead of reformulating they decide to change the package color and logo. So in 2008, they decided that being a woman (Palin) was the right package to sell their neo-con product. After the Obama win, they quickly updated their market research and concluded that America wants an ethnic looking leader - Jindal - and a black man - enter idiot Michaeal Steele. I can imagine the strategy session –Okay, how do we top a good looking, smooth talking Hawaiian born President with a Kenyan father? How about a first generation Indian immigrant who goes by the name Bobby (can we get a Joe in there maybe?) and who sounds a lot like Andy Mayberry on qualudes. Damn, we can’t fail!!!! American will eat that stuff up for damn sure!!

It takes someone with a true genius for failure (Michael Steele) to roll out this Jindal repackaging.

It was a "creepy" entrance.

He sort of slithered into view from up stage right.

The Guv's Mansion as backdrop, like he's practicing for the walk down the grand corridor into the East Room.

And then the speech itself was off putting, like a campaign speech rather than a "response" to anything Obama had to say.

Almost like an event from the Addams Family mansion.

If this is what the Replicans have to throw against Obama in '12, then I wd exclaim : "God help 'em".

I thought he was saying "oh my god" because he realized Bobby Jindal" was actually "kenneth" from 30 Rock in disguise.

lol

Repub leaders ... Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal...tell me they should not do an SNL skit w/ Tina Fey coming to the podium and the actor who plays Kenneth off stage in the back playing Jindal...tied up in a closet somewhere by Palin. lol If you missed Jindal's response just go here and turn off the picture...http://www.nbc.com/30_Rock/video/clips/kenneths-check-list/1028062/

same thing.

Chris was only saying Oh God because he realized that he had just messed himself because it was more than tingles he felt up his leg last night.

Hardball has become Softball when shilling for the extreme left.

With any luck.. many of the NBC staff will 'pay their fair share' and see that redistribution of wealth doesn't do anyone any good.

Keep repressing your base Obamamaniacs at NBC... good job.

Mr. Jindal's Neighborhood:
----
It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

It's a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?

Won't you please,
Won't you please,
Please won't you be my neighbor?

Hi television neighbor, I'm "Bobby" Jindal and I'm glad we're together again....

Anybody remember Obama's pillars and temple scene from the democratic acceptance speech?

Anybody remember Obama utilizing the presidential seal with his name?

Anybody remember Obama changing the logo on his plane, smaller flag?

This attack on Jindahl is the "Palinesque" attack mode of the democrats.

Attack the messenger use, personal attacks: how the person looks and acts.

Now, what did Martin say, something about the content of character and not by the color of skin?

The "democrats"- the liberals, oh, sorry for that slip up, their new code name is "progressives" demean opponents by name calling, disparaging comments about the way people look..

This is out of the play book of the Clintons. Attack at all levels. Dirty politics continue in the Obama's administration because it's the Clinton administration in disguise.

Rahm- the kniver, the dead fish sender, the Blago enforcer and the basement moocher- Emanuel is the leader.

When Rahm left the Clinton administration he quickly made $18MILLION dollars and then ran for congress in Illinois.

The ploy with Jindahl is to take away the focus on what Obama said and DIDN'T SAY in his speech to the joint house.

Here's the clue: taxes, restriction on freedoms, more of your pay going to help those who continue to lie on mortgage applications, charge on their credit cards and stop paying on their autos.

We pick up their tab. Obama has NO plan in place to make sure these incompetent, pleasure seekers are held accountable for their monetary screw-ups. WE will pay the tab.

The democrats have no plan. Nothing to judge each property owner. There is NOTHING, no matrix, no standards to decide who gets help and who doesn't. It's fly by the seat of your pants.

Rush that money out to the States and counties and let them spend on whoever, whatever they want. There are no benchmarks on who qualifies for help and who doesn't. THERE WILL BE GRAFT AND THEFT AND FRAUD.

oh, Obama's gonna call ya out!

Obama will delay/cutback on Social Security and Medicare.

The republicans would be fools to join in a bipartisan approach to resolve the problems with these programs.

Let the democrats solve it on their own. If those three republicans want to join the rest of the senators, let them. Their constituents will take care of them at the polls.

Beware republicans, stay away from medicare and social security.

2010!

I have it figured out, kinda. You have to laugh. If not, then Mathews should be grilled.

It would have been like a "happening" from years past except this was probably more like Pres. Carter's "lust in his heart".

That cable or network group, probably experienced a "sexual happening" form Pres. Obama's speech. Mathew's problem was by the time the Republican response by Gov. Jindal was ready, Mathew's was still experiencing the wonders and brilliance of Pres. Obama's speech but Mathew's hadn't climaxed until the Gov. was walking to the cameras, and without saying one word,> Mathews,>> "Ohh Godd".

LOL

..........

Yeah, that''ll work....NOT.
Just say "no" to anything that Dems are tring to do to put Americans back to work and then propose more tax cuts for the rich in 2010..

Are Repuglicans trying to go the way of the Whigs or are they really this stupid?

Keep squealing little Wingnuts, keep squealing like the little anti-govt piggies that you are!

The best part about Pres Obama's speech last night was actually seeing exactly how small the Repukelican contingent has shrank to when the lawmakers were all seated.

Congrats America, for making the Repukelicans what they are: 4th party gadfly obstructionists who want to sell you out to their rich big business cronies...again.

Chris M, very good! What is the big up roar? Nobody watches the Obama news network except the O-mania crowd, but you know what they say about fools gathering to watch a fool.

I love it.
The left blames Matthews and his obvious bias on supposed rRepublican racism. Racism by a Gov who is darker than Obama no less.

WOW.

Isn't it a bit pathetic that for every criticism of your weak ideas and pseudo intellectuals you resort to childish and/or over the top dramtic temper tantrums? SNL skits, implying racism. Funny music to a speech.

Are you really that in secure in your ideas?

Chris,
There have been some excellent interviews with Obama.
One where he famously said "I'm a better campaign manager than my campaign manager....I'm a better speechwriter than my speechwriters.."

All of which is true as you will no doubt come to conclude.

On the pillars at Mile High, well, let's just say only people like you even noticed them.

What most people, including Ed Rollins, who was Ronald Reagan's campaign manager, noticed about Mile High was that the speech, as Rollins said, "was the greatest political speech I've ever witnessed".

Didn't this Chris Matthews used to have a popular TV show?

Bobby Jindel reminds me of that weird puppet from the Ed Sullivan show. Where did this weird looking guy come from? Why was he saying congrats to the first African American President? Weirdo, Republican from Louisiana. Lets put Louisiana, South Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi Republicans on a boat to nowhere because that's where they're going. Nowhere.

Mysterious blonde stalking Rush Limbaugh. Could it be Chris Matthews?

Security cam image seems to show Chris Matthews, but we're not sure.
