It's Friday night in Washington.
And the President's Box at the Kennedy Center will be occupied.
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, who have an affinity for Friday nights out, plan to take in an Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater show at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Peforming Arts The company is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a collection of classics plus a collaboration with Sweet Honey In The Rock.
It's sold out. But the White House says the Obamas plan to use the president's box. They'll take some friends with them.
On Saturday, the Obama family will try out Camp David, the presidential retreat once known as Shangri-La, before President Dwight Eisenhower gave it a more sensible name. At 1,500 feet in the Catoctin Mountains, the air is a lot clearer than Washington's - and it's supposed to warm up this weekend.

Life is good for the Obama's. I just don't know why it has to be reported and thrown in the public's face when people out here are having it not so good. It's tacky.

Politics changes a person. The political culture often promotes power and ego over public good. The Chicago political machine breeds corruption by illegal patronage and hiring practices.
President Obama has embarked on a course of change. His political roots, however, are deeply embedded in the bare knuckle, down-and-dirty blood sport known as "Politics, Chicago Style." Our new president, along with his inner circle, will certainly bring a Chicago flavor to the nation's capital. At the end of the day, the question will remain: Can this country stomach it? Time will tell.

vla: But is was okay for Bush to go there all the time or his "ranch" and no one objected. I hardly think they are going there to slight you and "throw it in your face". I think rather they are getting the lay of the land.
