To hear the White House tell it, the new stimulus-tracking Web-site -- www.recovery.gov --is going viral.
This is the portal that President Barack Obama promised the public as a means of keeping track of all those billions of dollars that the government is funneling into economic stimulus.
Peter Orszag, director of the president's Office of Management and Budget, said today that, "We've already stood up a Web-site, recovery.gov, which I'm told is receiving 3,000 hits a second, which I think underscores the interest in the accountability and transparency surrounding this endeavor.''
With a catchy title like, "Your Money at Work,'' who wouldn't be clicking on the OMB production every morning?
And with features like, "Share Your Recovery Story,'' this is not simply a government-watchdog undertaking.
It's recession therapy.

This is a great idea. It's going to allow the public to watch those stinking Repuglican governors who claimed that they weren't going to take any job stimulus money, take it then try to get away with giving it to their rich private business pals (KBR, Halliburton etc). It's the only way Repugs know how to do business.
I predict that we're going to be seeing a parade of Repug governors wearing orange jumpsuits on their way to the Fed lockup in the next few years. Blago will look like a halfway decent Gov compared to theses Repug baron robbers.

How many of you would accept money and sign a blank contract without knowing what is expected for the money? "We will just make up the details as we go along" like with the banks that took money without strings. Obama actually threatened the nations mayors to spend wisely or "I will call you out." Please Mr President, feelings or not contractural requriments.
