The unions will waste little time with President Barack Obama's signing of the $787-billion economic stimulus bill this afternoon in Denver.

Greg Sargent reports at his blog, The Plum Line, that Obama's "allies on the left -- AFSCME and the labor-backed Americans United for Change -- will launch a TV ad today praising Obama's stimulus package only hours after the president signs it today.''

Mike Allen, in his Playbook column at Politico.com reports the same thing about the union-backed ad-drive: "Driving the Day.''

And we suppose they're both right, inasmuch as the labor-backed Americans United for Change is circulating their reports via email this morning. Talk about plants.

"The ad will utilize footage from today's signing ceremony to promote the bill and hail its benefits, according to Americans United for Change chief Brad Woodhouse,'' Sargent reports. "The key here is that the political war over the stimulus package hasn't ended with its passage. If anything, the battle is only beginning.

"In the weeks and months ahead, Obama and Dems will be working to solidify public perceptions that the bill is righting the economy,'' he notes. "Meanwhile, Republicans, having placed all their chips on the expectation that the public will perceive the stim package as a failure, will be striving to cast it as such.''

The unions are backing Obama because they want him to sign the anti-democratic care check-off to force a company to unionize, instead of a secret ballot election. Why be concerned about democracy; the Soviet Union did great without it. When Obama signs that union bill, watch how quickly the foreign, non-union auto companies like Honda, Toyota and Hyundai move their operations -- and jobs -- to Mexico. So much for job creation.

Why do unions back the bill when Obama added to deliberately ban employers from doing e-verify on potential workers? So, unions have no problem with American stimulus funds paying illegal aliens to take 30% of the new jobs? Why do unions agree with the gov't not insisting on 'made in America' provisions? Everyone seems schizoid and on the take from big business. Pelosi, Obama and the Pugs love the idea of giving our highly limited resources to illegals who take jobs from the Americans paying the bill. This is why California has to lay off 20,000 employees. California loves to give illegals free college educations--and so much more. Our nation's high unemployment numbers don't warrant illegal workers in the US. These are the thoughts of both the Repugs and Dems. Don't think we are split on this. Obama wants to give America away as much as Bush did. No Change--just in the tank for big business and the rest of the world before being in the tank for American citizens.

SEIU power broker Andy Stern's control over this administration and this Congress is breathtaking. He has used the same technique of using the power of persuasion, backed by the persuasion of power, to dominate each that he has so successfully used to browbeat multinational corporations into so-called "neutrality agreements." Why do I keep thinking of Elvis Costello's song, "Oliver's Army," and it's line, "...and I'd rather be anywhere but here."

All I'm hearing is that the stimulus bill is bad and we should have it. Well my question to you is "What do you suppose we do then?" I think Obama is trying his hardest to try and get our economy back the way it was. So I would have to say is do what you got to do cause I'm behind you 100%.
