Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) offered a stark message today to her colleagues who want to delay or kill major reductions in U.S. greenhouse gas emissions: You've already lost.
Boxer chairs the Senate Environment and Public Works committee, and she's drafting the Senate version of a so-called "cap and trade" bill that would limit the emissions scientists blame for climate change.
In what she dubbed a "reality check on global warming," Boxer said a growing series of regional emissions caps - and the high likelihood that the Obama administration will soon take the first steps toward regulating greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act - suggest that Congress' only choices on emissions limits are to set them itself, or to watch others do it.
"I am here today to say that the days of inaction on climate change have ended," Boxer said. "The question is, will Congress continue to play a small part or a central role?"
The comments rebuked Boxer's Republican counterpart on the committee, Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma, a global warming skeptic who lambasted the cap-and-trade proposal on the Senate floor this week - calling it all costs and no benefits for American taxpayers.
"If it is time for anything," he said, "it is time for us to get realistic about these policies, and focus on what is achievable, both globally and domestically, to help bring down energy costs to consumers and make us more energy secure so the American public doesn't get yet another raw deal."

No, Barack. Man-made global warming is an elaborate leftist hoax. Get a clue.

Industry will take their jobs and plants to China and India were there will be no carbon tax

Yes, along with the moon landings, the Kennedy assassination, the death of Elvis and the Atkins diet.

Pretty Latinas. There's your complete Global Warming package right there. There is NO thermostat that goes with that package. Liberals are wasting their time and our money.

The real global warming is coming from the mouths of Democratic politicians, like Boxer, Waters, and Feinstein, and others. So close your traps and we will all be safe.

Entertain, if you will, the irony. A 4’-11” pipsqueak of a senator, figuratively and literally, is about to provide the big push to send the manufacturing sector of the U.S. economy over a big cliff.
Here are just a few Global Warming particulars that rattle around in a cigar box like the left-over parts of a re-built Yugo transmission:
- No Scientific Method employed to address this surreptitious issue
- No Metric to measure progress, success, or much of anything
- No realistic recognition of the natural origin of CO2 and CH4 gases or the contribution made by those complex crystalline structures that all Americans are so intimately familiar with called hydrates
- No Physical Chemistry recognition of the temperature solubility of gases in water, of which the earth has a tremendous quantity of
- No acknowledgement of large heat sinks and large heat reservoirs, AKA oceans
- Total Perversion of the conventional CO2 versus Temperature relationship
- Solar Flares totally and absolutely discounted, but the Greenhouse Effect and its 0.28% contribution to the atmospheric heat load is a raging, flaming, steel furnace of white heat
- Man-made Global Warming also in-play, on Mars
- No recognition of the flow of Grant $$$ and the outcome required, but only if you want to capture more Grant $$$
- An IPCC Model FULL of assumptions, throw-ins, throw-outs, throw-downs, low confidence data, and copious quantities of weasel words interwoven throughout
If it were just one person, that person would have Einstein-like genius to have contrived this Artful Blind. Intriguing and Stunning all at once, although not as intriguing and stunning as the pretty Latinas that brew up the most incredible cumulonimbus clouds. Those Incredible cumulonimbus clouds ~ meteorological friends of Dj, the Real Global Warming.
