Dick Armey, a former House majority leader when the Republicans ruled the Hill, has added his name to those hoping that President Barack Obama fails.
If the president's goal is creating "a nanny state,'' that is.
"Sure,'' he agrees with radio's Rush Limbaugh on that question of desiring an Obama agenda failure. "Who wants to see America make the folly of so many other nations that have gone down this primrose path of thinking government can be, you know, the nanny state, provider of all things?'
"The government decided they need to spend hundreds of billions and billions of our dollars trying to rescue us,'' says Armey, in a recorded interview with a like-minded NewsMax. "Obama running around acting like he's a newfound savior.... is not doing a bit of good.''
Why do we say like-minded? That NewsMax site is selling "Welcome Back Carter'' T-shirts picturing Obama, and Tees picturing Ronald Reagan: "Right.''
As for Armey, retired veteran of the "Contract with America,'' he's got his own group now, Freedom Works, devoted to liberty.

"Who wants to see America make the folly of so many other nations that have gone down this primrose path of thinking government can be, you know, the nanny state, provider of all things"? - Dick Armey
Yes, we have it much better when the "conservative" Repuglican party is in charge and they can hand out tax cuts to the richest 1-2%, big corporations and big oil, start an uncalled for pre-emptive war on Iraq and sell us out to their private business cronies like Blackwater, KBR and Halliburton....NOT!
Dick Armey? seriously? that's his name?...That's a perfect name for a right-wing Repug knuckle-dragger.

Keep opening your mouth former Rep. Armey, and you and Lush, will guaranty a Democratic majority for the next several decades !! See if you can't borrow some of Lush's meds, it sounds like you are in need of nanny. The Republicans have gone Unamerican !! Solely, for the purpose of regaining power and you know what, that will only push them, further from regaining the respect and dignity, they so sorely need !!!! What a pathetic Party they have devolved into, a shadowy imitation of their former selves !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

The evidence seems to show that it was the Republicans who led us down the primrose path of thonking that a completely unfettered free-market system with no government oversight, can provide all things. Some of 'hose other nations' have better health-care systems, transportation systems less vulnerable to foreign oil blackmail AND fewer abortions.
Armey, like the rest, just do what Rush tells 'em.

What could be worse than what the Republicans have already done to damage the US? Well, I guess four more years of Republican incompetence making the rich richer and the poor poorer and even further destroying our nations credibility worldwide.

Queue the compassionate, all inclusive, we are the world, liberal rabid shots at Dick Armey personally, his family, his dog, his weight, his zodiac sign... anything but whether what he actually is saying is valid or not....

The last thing the 'right' needs is Dick Armey getting involved; last time he was on Hardball he acted like he drunk as a skunk.

While Druggy Rush is busy burying the Repuglican party into permanent minority status, Michael Steele is making good on his promise to connect the Repugs with the hip-hop demographic

Armey was recently on Hardball and commented to the female guest "I'm glad you're not my wife, so I don't have to go home and listen to you..."
When called on it he couldn't see what sexist pig his comment was or revealed himself to be. Thank God for the interweb! Before the web these goons got away with 30 years of treason. Never again.

Pathetic but hilarious! There goes another one, Dick Armey, sucking up to the neo-con base, kissing the tush of Rush Limbaugh. The vacuum of Republican leadership is startling. Instead of offering solutions and getting the work of the people done, the Party of No chose to obstruct and offer the same old same old. When that didn't work, they chose to stand behind Limbaugh, the bombasitc, bigoted blowhard, and hope that Obama fails. Can you hear that giant sucking sound caused by a vacuum of Republican leadership? It seems to get louder every day. Pity.

Limbaugh is done, stick a fork in him. He has zero credibility left with the American people. Here's an idea for you republicans, why not get on board with helping with the effort to restore America rather than wasting tax payer money and time with your rhetoric, all you seem good at. If you republicans spent less time whining and attacking and more time lending a hand we might actually get somewhere a little sooner. Don't worry though, America does not need you, just please stay out of the way and stop trying to sabotage efforts to fix what you have destroyed for 8 years, it's the least you creeps can do for our struggling country, the one you destroyed.

Hey Armey, the Republican's never do anything FOR this country, they only do things TO this country. Hold a burial at sea and toss a wreath on the water every year. See ya!! NATIONAL HEALTHCARE, full speed ahead damn the torpedoe's!! whiteagle38

So, when Obama is interviewed by the NY Times, I wonder if that would be identified as a "like-minded New York Times?" After all, it was the NY Times that ran the "General Betray Us" ad! Not to mention the socialistic rants by the owner of the Times, its innuendo reporting of McCain, during the previous campaign, to further advance the campaign of Obama?
I wonder?
From the tenor of most of the comments on this story, it is easy to see how Obama got the "ignorant" vote!
