Sen. Harry Reid, suggesting that his party's success in Senate elections is tied to President Barack Obama's success, is eyeing that 60-seat grail next year.
"We are in a position to pick up a number of seats," Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast with the Senate majority leader this morning.
"And I think that our success is tied to Obama's success,'' Reid said. "I would love to have 60, I would be happy with 59....I think we focus a little too much on numbers."
Asked about running the Senate and running for reelection himself in 2010, Reid said, "I am not going to change anything. I have always been who I am. People in Nevada know that. Some people like who I am. Others don't.
"I have watched other senators try to change who they are during an election cycle,'' said Reid, reporting $2 million raised during the last quarter for his re-election campaign. "I feel comfortable that I will be competitive.''

Illuminate these Senators names on every billboard across the United States. These should be recorded and go down in history along with traitor Benedict Arnold.
They are the ones who sold out American Workers by stamping out the federal E-Verify, to identify millions of ILLEGAL ALIENS IN THE WORKPLACE. With 10 million American jobless, these legislators left the door open for foreign labor. REMEMBER THEIR NAMES IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THEY REMOVED IT FROM THE STIMULUS/ OMNIBUS SPENDING BILL

Reid & Pelosi's success may be tied to Obama's, but:
Obama's success is NOT tied to theirs!
He is still perceived subliminally as the figure who transcends all.
Politicians who want to be re-elected should take not of that perception.
