First Lady Michelle Obama has made the rounds of federal agencies since her husband's inauguration as president delivering words of thanks and encouragement.

Today, she will do something similar, at Arlington National Cemetery.

The fiirst lady plans to visit Arlington National Cemetery's Women in Military Service for America Memorial Center in honor of Women's History Month .

The White House calls it "an extension of Mrs. Obama's focus on military families.'' The private event starts at 2 pm EST.

During President Barack Obama's campaign, his wife often stopped near military bases to meet with spouses of those in uniform. As an advocate for families on the home front , she has promoted care packages for those serving in the military.
