Sen. Roland Burris hasn't declaratively stated whether he plans to run for a full six-year term next year. And if he decides to run, it probably won't be on the basis of a recent Zogby International poll.
According to The Hill newspaper, the poll showed Burris polling in the single digits.
Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.) is drawing single digits in a primary with two other candidates, according to a new poll. The Zogby poll, conducted for the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois, suggests the question of whether or not Burris seeks a full term in the Senate in 2010 is largely inconsequential, because he stands almost no chance of winning it.
The poll matched him with two statewide officeholders - Treasurer Alex Giannoulias and Comptroller Dan Hynes. Giannoulias led Hynes narrowly, 28-27, with Burris at just 5 percent.
Giannoulias is the only Democrat officially in the race. Former Commerce Secretary William Daley (D) is also looking closely at it, as is Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.).
The story doesn't say what the poll's margin of error was so it's possible Burris' support in that test heat was actually even lower.

Comments
Mr. James, how about writing about the abuses of David Vitter and his diapers? Apparently, Mr. Bug Eyes jets all over the place with prostitutes, of course, which costs taxpayers millions. He also wants a bigger diaper and is making quite the stink about wanting one.
While Sen. Vitter did go over the line, I do believe most folks would have had some kind of meltdown when their plane is closed 20 minutes before departure. I'd be willing to bet just about everyone would have a huge problem if they had to catch a connecting flight and either the first flight was closed 20 minutes to departure or even the connecting flight was closed 20 minutes to departure.

Alexi and Hynes are just spoiled rich kid legacies casting around looking for the next office to slip into.
Pretty good if it could be the Senate! That wd be, as they used to say , crappin' in some mighty tall cotton.
Alexi and Hynes, if it were not for their family connections, and if they were out there on their own, would be lucky to hold down jobs as truck drivers.
At least Burris made his way on his own, not because him family owned some banks or because his dad was high up in the Machine and a pal of the first Mayor Daley.

I have my new "Burris in !0" field sign already out by the highway. Had to secure it with fence poles. I leave the defacing comments. Drives the Dems bonkers. He is a sad joke and we are stuck with him unless they charge him with lying and lack of integrity. The voters of Il. will not easily forget what the Dems. in power did to our state, denying us a special election. Folks downstate are mad and will vote accordingly.

Senator Burris has my vote, if he chooses to run and I hope he does !! If he doesn't, I'll write in ex-Governor Blagojevich. Oh, about the small matter of an indictment: WHERE'S THE BEEF !! That's right, U.S. Attorney Fitzgerald is more interested in being a stuntman, than a reputable U.S. Attorney !! Go find yourself another Libby, that should settle down the crowd, that's so upset about " corruption ", but not a peep, when you fail to produce !! I wonder who else received nice gifts from Mr. Zell !!? Maybe his publication, The Chicago Tribune, could look into the matter !!?
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

I think it's funny how Bubba is desperate to try ANYTHING to distract people from the disgrace that is Burris. He's not even putting up a modicum of defense for our selected, not elected senator.

Burris is a pint sized race hustler, and will never be elected dog catcher, unless hes running in englewood.
What a debacle of total lunacy and power hunger he exhibits..
Just watching his press consferences tells me there is no way he EVER legitimately passed the BAR.. he had to have cheated or found a scam way to buy a copy of the test.
That said, Burris is sooo foolish, that as an illinoisan i am glad he is there, as it makes it clear to the world 'who' has brought this state to its current broken, failed situtation, and there is no one who can see this troll and not figure out what happened to turn a once leading city/state into a crime ridden, backward, dump.
Burris has NEVER worked a legit. job in his adult LIFE... prior to the ''senate'', Burris made his living off of a state contract where he race-hustled, and the (Blago) state paid him to ''certify'' the blackness of those who wanted to bid on state contracts- if Burris certified the contractors ''blackness'' they got the bid..
THIS is what the racist troll did for a living- paid at taxpayer expense
