Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has tapped an Anchorage lawyer and National Rifle Association director as the state's new attorney general. That is true.
Sarah Palin is not appearing on the cover of Vogue - "the governor issue.'' That is false.
The governor today did name Wayne Anthony Ross, who twice sought the Republican Party's nomination for governor, as attorney general. He is a former NRA vice president and current director.
He succeeds Talis Colberg, who resigned amid what Palin called a "harsh political climate." Colberg was a central figure in "Troopergate," the Alaska Legislature's investigation into whether Palin or aides had pressured her public safety commissioner to fire a state trooper involved in a contentious divorce and custody battle with Palin's sister. Colberg filed a lawsuit on behalf of seven state workers challenging legislative subpoenas. A judge rejected the lawsuit and the employees later testified.
The Palin Vogue cover, which has been making the rounds of the Internet lately, appears to be the work of Kodiak Konfidential, a Website in Alaska which is none too friendly to the governor.
It stems from a time, back in 2007, when Vogue did spend some time at the Wasilla home of the governor, former mayor of tiny Wasilla and former television sports broadcaster - she gave up any thought of a career with ESPN when she learned it was based in Bristol., Conn., but she did name a daughter Bristol, and Bristol did have a baby and then broke up with the father, but....
"At first they had me in a bunch of furs," Palin told the AP of the Vogue photo shoot back in 2007. "Yeah, I have furs on my wall, but I don't wear furs. I had to show them my bunny boots and my North Face clothing."

Well you certainly didn't spend over 170K on gaberdine.

Rah Rah Rah, more craziness from the Alaska Republicans!
Wayne Anthony Ross aka "W.A.R.", is about as middle of the road as a Tommy machine gun. Which is an appropriate metaphor since he is a board member and former Vice President of the NRA.

This is so transparently a steppingstone for Palin's presidential ambitions - there are dozens, perhaps hundreds of decent Republican attorneys that are as qualified or more, that wouldn't bring the baggage that Ross does to the job. If Pageant Queen Palin and Piyush Jindal are the best the Republic Party has to offer in 2012, they're in worse shape than I thought.

Great cover photo! If this is real her stock just took off. My kind of independent, self- made, conservative values, gun-totting hockey mom. Give her 4 years of foreign affairs insight and education and training in countering liberal lefty "dirty tricks" political sabotage and she will be a winner to the American folks. There are multiple of reasons that Alaskans give her the highest job approval rating of any elected official in America! The lefties fear her!

If guns don't kill people, People kill people, and if concealed carry laws make eveuyone safer, why can't I walk into the Alaska State Capitol, with a gun in my pocket? I'd think they'd be demand that everyone visiting the State House be armed to maximized safety.
I demand my Second Amendment Rights. Gov. Palin should lead the way and remove all impedements to carrying loaded fire arms in Alaska State Government buildings. She should demand that there never be metal detectors at any venue where she speaks. Let her lead the way to show that there is nothing to fear from guns.

.....
If Palin still needs forign policy affairs insight, education and training then WHY is she a presidential frontrunner for the GOP in 2012?
Heck, my 12 yr old will be qualified for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination in four years if that's all it takes.

Very presidential.
As you say, Bubba, she's unqualified, but might do well as a model.

The Vogue cover is shopped. Not a bad job, but it's not her.
WAR - should be WAJ for what a joke. Among his more stellar accomplishments:
He restarted the official state militia (dates from territorial days), made himself a colonel, and was banned from the local army base when he dressed up in his 'uniform' and tried to order real soldiers around.
He puts his self-appointed rank on his resume.
He's written in support of the KKK (no, really - he called them 'brave' for their free speech activities).
Stuff like this makes me wonder if the Alaska police arrested the wrong meth-head.

bubba the lesser,
I couldn't agree more. Please, please, please make this hockey mom in training your front runner in 2012.
Nothing would make me happier.
Palin/Jindal 2012!
Dumb and dumberer!
The anti-intellectual party secures its place in history.
Rinse, repeat.
Oh, the joy.

Flo, nice to hear from you again, always a pleasure. Sarah just keeps on ticking, doesn't she and with your guy flubbing all over the place along with the spendthrifts in Congress trashing our economic future I look for "change we can really believe in" not taxes, taxes, taxes, borrow ,borrow, borrow, spend, spend, spend. The responsible folks see the light.

I think she just winked at me.

Bubba Porter:
I can't beleive you and others could not tell this was photo-shopped. They do not love her. Read Kodiak Konfidential or go to themudflats.net to see how much the native people "love" Palin. And she is under more ethics investigations.
