Personally, I would rather have " Big Government " than " Big Business " and I will tell you why. I think all of us, here in America, can safely say, that we live in a country that we have endowed with our safety and security, within the bounds of our Constitution !! That is, what is, our Founding Ancestors' greatest legacy, our freedoms, outlined in our Constitution.
Since time immemorial, Business has done it's work under the shingle of : " Buyer Beware " . That wasn't a statute or a law, it was commonsense advice, passed down, from generation to generation !! It was an acceptable premise, on which, to do business; see how far, you can go, in fleecing the buyer. It is only in modern times, that we have allowed government to step into private business transactions and speak for, and do the bidding of, the consumer. Otherwise, one is stuck with the " pig-in-the-poke ", or worse !! In our present fiscal fiasco, it is far worse !!
As John M. Keynes said: " For at least another hundred years we must pretend to ourselves and to every one that fair is foul and foul is fair; foul is useful and fair is not. Avarice and usury and precaution must be our gods for a little while longer. " One of the great economists in history has stated clear enough, greed and loan sharking are part of Wall Street's con, the Banker's booty or the Insurer's gamble. We witnessed it in all of its infamy for the last year. How was that possible ? Our government was removed from the equation. We no longer had a buyer's representatives in the room, when the transactions were taking place. If there were buyer's representatives in the room, they were bought and paid for, by the monied interests !! Deregulation became the war cry of those monied interests, from the Cons on Wall Street, the burglarizing Bankers to the insatiable Insurers. They could not get fat enough and they are still stuffing themselves !! That, for you, girls and boys, are your captains of industry, the big boys of Business and you want them dictating life in America !!? We can't even vote for them !! At least we can vote for who is in our Government !!
No, I'll take my chances with the nation that our Founding Ancestors envisioned !! One, in which, there is Freedom and Justice, for all !! Something, that I don't think, The Big Boys of Business are able to sell !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

Today's news story the DNC Swamp won't touch: the companies receiving the TARP bailout money from the government are turning around and donating that cash to the politicians who gave them the bailout. See the Newsweek article at

Is anyone surprised that politicians are bailing out--themselves?
