Vice President Joe Biden has said that his predecessor, Dick Cheney, was "dead wrong'' in suggesting that President Barack Obama has made the nation less safe with his approaches toward dealing with terrorism.
Most Americans agree.
"Do you think the actions Barack Obama has taken as president have increased the chances of a terrorist attack against the U.S., or don't you think so?'' CNN and Opinion Research asked in a poll run last week.
Nearly three-quarters of those surveyed - 72 percent - said Obama has not increased the chances of an attack, and about one quarter - 26 percent - said he has.
A few weeks ago, Cheney said in an interview aired on CNN's State of the Union that Obama "is making some choices that, in my mind, will, in fact, raise the risk to the American people of another attack.''
"I don't think he is out of line, but he is dead wrong,'' Biden said in response, in another interview aired on CNN's Situation Room.
"The last administration left us in a weaker posture than we've been any time since World War II,'' Biden suggested. The Bush administration, he said, left the U.S. "less regarded in the world, stretched more thinly than we ever have been in the past, two wars under way, virtually no respect in entire parts of the world.
"And so we've been about the business of repairing and strengthening those. I guarantee you we are safer today, our interests are more secure today than they were any time during the eight years" of the Bush administration, Biden said.
The CNN-Opinion Research survey of 1,023 adults run April 3-5, 2009 carries a possible margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Biden's major problem is that he has been proved over and over to be a congenital liar, such as his adopting Neil Kinnock's personal biography as his own and his make-believe "conversations" in the Oval Office. Obama might be a blank page but the thought of Biden doing anything other than taking out the garbage is the real fright.

More proof of how the far right wing is becoming increasingly isolated from the mainstream of American life.

Your major problem is that you're dumb enough to continue believing BS propaganda from the mouth of KKKarl Rove.

This is why Democrats have no problem whatsoever with folks like Cheney and Rove taking shots at the president. They know clown like that have zero credibility and can only hurt the GOP.

You can call Cheney dishonest if you want- but that isn’t the issue.
So far, their are no lies that Cheney has been caught in- which pretty much makes you the propagandist...
Cheney is not he first to accuse Biden of being a serial exaggerator.
Its no lie that Biden plagiarized the Kinnock biography- he dropped out of the '88 campaign because of it---this was the most publicized of a number of instances where Biden was either dishonest in his accounting of his role in events or would use other peoples words as his own... why would you believe Biden now, if he has a history of exaggerating events like this one?

Cheney hates America. Always has. He doesn't realize he does, but he does.
Darth loves some country that exists only in his mind, a country where torture and war crimes are seen as virtues, but that country wasn't and isn't America, thank god.

We will be greeted as liberators! Remember that LIE heartburn? Saddam is directly involved in 9-11! Remember that LIE heartburn? Saddam is acquiring yellowcake from Nigeria! Remember that LIE heartburn? The knuckledragging 20 percent deadenders on this blog are amazing. Like their hero Rove, they wouldn't know the truth if it bit them on the keester.

Cheney is a hate monger and a true paranoid. No surprise that whatever he says is not credible.
Who listens to him anyway? The same nut cases that listen to Rush....wacko republicans that need to put down the beer & gun powder that have so destroyed their cortical cells.

Those brain operations that Biden had have caused brain damage.
The guy lies. What the hell is he saying to the foreign heads of state when he visits him?
Scary stuff. Let's see how Obama handles him.

Who is the biggest liar- Biden of course.

Its funny that everyone is picking on Mr, Cheney when the White House is chuck full of "liars". From the President on down the line. There is so many cases where the administration has said one thing and down another. This is typical of the "Tax & Spend" democratic party. The nation better wake up to the fact that spending and taxes are going through the roof. This attack is nothing more than to take the heat off the White House.

It always amuses me to see the Repub trolls provide both the question and the answer in their posts, as if they think that doing so will pre-empt any argument. If they didn't give both the question and the anwer, perhaps one might give a response that they don't want to hear (such as: "Who is the biggest liar? CHENEY!! Hands Down!!") and that might upset them a great deal. Oh, a great deal INDEED! Poor, bitter, bitter, bitter beings! One almost pities them.

So - do you believe Biden or not?
If you do- other than partisan bias, why do you suddenly give him so much credibility?
Bidens story on face value- fails the common sense test...

"We will be greeted as liberators! Remember that LIE heartburn?"
More of an opinion, partially true (such as in Kurdistan), but hardly a lie.
"Saddam is directly involved in 9-11! Remember that LIE heartburn? "
Please provide the exact quote and context for this "LIE". Then I can provide you with a list of prominent democrats (including Biden) who said something similar.
"Saddam is acquiring yellowcake from Nigeria! Remember that LIE heartburn? "
The exact quote, from Bush, was "The British Government has recently learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa". Although there are British officials who still insist this was true, it has generally been regarded as "highly suspect" information, even by the Bush administration, and they admit it should not have been part of the speech. A "lie" in some form, perhaps, but also a moot point. There is no reason to believe that Saddam was not "seeking" weapons.
If you'd like to discuss further, maybe we can meet at that diner Biden frequented during the campaign. The one that hasn't been around for 20 years!

Do you have a point -? What does anything you are saying have to do with whether Biden has been caught in another lie or not?
Posted by: heartburn | April 14, 2009 5:37 PM
Biden is a fraud, a liar, and a hypocrite
but we love him, because he's the gift that keeps on giving. He keeps putting his foot in his mouth. That's why he's never around anymore. And the other guy reads everything from a telepromter when I see him on TV its like watching a ping pong match. I'm
starting to call him, "The Ping Pong President".
