Citing no specific threats, the agency warns of a conducive 'climate'

Homeland Security has detected a new threat: "Rightwing Extremism.''

The report of the federal agency issued earlier this month warns police agencies of an "economic and political climate'' that is "fueling'' a "resurgence in radicalization and recruitment.''

The assessment is one of many that the federal agency provides to local, state and federal police agencies with a goal of helping them deter, preempt or respond to terrorist attacks: Homeland Security report.pdf

Janet Napolitano with the first lady.jpg

But in this case, even while reporting that the Department of Homeland Security "has no specific information'' that any rightwing terrorists are planning any violence,'' the agency warns that they "may be gaining recruits by playing on their fears'' about several "emergent issues.''

Among those issues: "The economic downturn and the election of the first African American president,'' the state of the economy and illegal immigration. Add to all that the return of military veterans having trouble "reintegrating into their communities.''

The growth of rightwing terrorist and extremist groups subsided in the face of increased government scrutiny after the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing of the federal building, the agency notes. But now, in fear of passage of new restrictions on firearms and "the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities,'' terrorist groups or "lone-wolf extremists'' could be newly motivated.

The report points to the recent shooting of three police officers in Pittsburgh - "the alleged gunman's reaction reportedly was influenced by racist ideology and belief in anti-government conspiracy theories related to gun confiscations'' and other threats.

"Rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on the economy, perceived loss of U.S. jobs... and home foreclosures,'' the report notes. And anti-Semitic extremists attribute all this to "a cabal of Jewish 'financial elites.'

This sort of accusatory tactic is used to draw new recruits into rightwing extremist groups, DHS says.

The agency says it will be working with state and local agencies over the next several months to gain some "greater specificity'' on the rise of these rightwing extremists.

Now, that is what a federal agency is for, to warn our country of a possible danger. It is not an imagined danger, just ask those families, whose members, were the victims of right wing extremism, from the likes of McVeigh, and others !! Some of the bomb-throwers, on the right, including some members of the Republican Party, those of the WMD, are stirring up, the extreme element in their ranks !! President Obama needs everyone's help and nobody's hate !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

Are you kidding me? How bout the liberal extremism that has gone on and is going on now? Funny how obama gets in office and this report comes out? What a bunch of liberal wackos writing this report!!! The homeland security dept should be embarrassed!

That 'conducive climate' is brought about by people like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Michele Bachman. Of course they have the right to prattle on--I just wish people wouldn't take what they say seriously.

When you have whack-jobs like Faux News' Glen Beck telling his audience that a new revolution is required, some of his unstable (though anyone who watches this nut is unstable) viewers are actually going to follow his lunatic rantings.

"And anti-Semitic extremists attribute all this to "a cabal of Jewish 'financial elites."

As if the right wing Christians and Muslims don't speak out and add to the climate of hate.

Thank god we have the fair and balanced Fox News and people like Rush to even out the coverage and make sure none of these so-called "right-wing extremists" are fueled by highly sensationalized misinformation about the President being a socialist or a muslim or wanting to take away their guns, or how people should hope the President fails. The journalistic integrity of the fine men and women on Fox News and El Rushbo are to be commended for showing such restraint and nuanced coverage of these complex issues that can't be boiled down to simplified sound bites, and by not taking advantage of scared, uneducated, bigoted people who lack even the most basic understanding of how their own government works, let alone high finance or international relations and history. Bravo, Fox and Rush! You're a credit to your country and to all of humanity!

Apparently, left wing extremists like Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, who actually set off bombs in public buildings, are just hunky dorey.

Yeah, blame the Veterans. Veterans have always had it tough "reintegrating into their communities," (I wonder why?,) but only one small group of them has actually been involved in domestic attacks. So that's one incident out of how many million veterans over the past two-plus centuries?

"If you want fewer Veterans, have fewer wars."

This is where it begins. Not putting efforts into clamping down on illegal immigration. Not kicking out foreign nationals with ties to anti-Western groups.

They are concerned about citizens who may be concerned about those issues.

When you learned about the Holocaust and Soviet gulags, didn't you initially ask yourselt, "How did the people let this happen?"

This is how it starts. Get in line, don't speak out, call the authorities about your neighbors.

As my friend of years, Samuel Johnson told me on the night of April 7,1775, it seems that "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel". Though as another friend points out,Boswell assures us that Johnson was not indicting patriotism in general, only false patriotism. Something awash in the party of less idea.

Your humble servant

Homeland Security should also be warning against LEFTWING EXTREMISTS as well. They are just as dangerous as the Far Right!

Sounds like the Government is really trying suppress and demonize conservatives. I like how they put racism into the article and associate it with being a conservative, ie. conservatives are upset about there being a black president . True conservatives care less about the color of someones skin and more about the content of someones c haracter.

Glenn Beck, Seany Hannity and Rush etc are leading their charges of right-wing psychopaths to commit acts of violence all over the country. For the most part they're pissed about one thing: They Lost!

This video shows just how bad the Wingnuts have lost touch with reality.

It is somewhat amusing that DHS thinks this is limited to "chatter on the Internet." Does DHS listen to AM radio (here in Chicago would be a fine place to start)? Do they watch Glenn Beck? Do they keep tabs on Rush Limbaugh? The extremism isn't grassroots. It's stoked from the top - from the unofficial spokespeople of the Republican Party.

You're a credit to your country and to all of humanity!

oh this is beautiful! the same organization these brain-waveless zealots voted for and essentially "founded," is turning on them.

We're going to have another McVeigh in this country and it's going to be on the head of the GOP.

I blame all this on Bill O'Riley, Sean Hannity, and Glen Beck. They're responsible for everything that happens from the right wing freaks.

So the right wingers are becoming something that they claimed they hated; terrorists. With all the namecalling they do, it is they who are terrorizing America.

The corporate media seems to be collectively embarrassed by the way the Pittsburgh shooters case demonstrates how they play an important role in whipping up the far-right crazies out there -- and they should be. Because not only did Richard Poplawski avidly participate in white-supremacist online forums and right-wing conspiracy-theory sites, he also avidly consumed mainstream conservative media, particularly Fox.
The classic instance of this: A few weeks ago, Poplawski posted a clip of Beck talking about FEMA concentration camps on the neo-Nazi Stormfront forum site

http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/why-are-media-ignoring-richard-popla

Issues like the economy, election of an incompetent president (not because he is black, just incompetent), illegal immigration, and oh you forgot the threat of a socialist government that will take away of rights, No wonder they would worry about something like domestic terrorism. Of course, the domestic terrorists would only be taking a page from William Ayers playbook. Hmmmm.....

right wing extremism? or revolution?

If someone sets off a bomb in a police station or at the U.S. capitol, like Obama's left-wing extremist friend Bill Ayers did, would that be considered terrorism by the Department of Homeland Security? How secure do they feel the U.S. can be when people like that are embraced by members of the current administration?

only a corrupt and tyrannical government need fear it's own citizens
it is the sacred responsibility of american citizens to take down their government if it is corrupt, a tyrant or unresponsive to the citizens legitimate needs.....if you think revolution can't happen here, again, then you are woefully ignorant of reality I love this country as much as anyone and have served in the military....but if it ever comes to us servicemen being order'd to fire on american citizens again( it's already happen'd at kent state in ohio) the soldiers were national guard and they hated hippies) then you will see the poop hit the fan....so hold on to your weapons they may be the only recourse to save your life or a family members one day....grow a garden the germans learned this the hard way

Janet Napolitano and the unconstitutional Department if Homeland (Motherland) Security are fearmongering based on "no specific information'' and their goal is to neuter the internet. We mustn't allow her to censor opinion or dismantle the 1st Amendment. Just because certain discourse isn't acceptable to the Washington (or Hollywood) elite doesn't mean it's any less true or important. Not only does the truth about our "special relationship" with Israel need to come out, but it just isn't "anti-semitic" to bring it up, no matter how much the entrenched interests want to make it so. Same with illegal immigrants. We have a right to speak the truth about the evils caused by rampant and unfettered illegal immigration to our nation and it isn't "hate" to point this out.

The hate and fear evidenced in these comments by Americans for their fellow citizens is astounding. I have joked in the past that nothing in this world – not even an Islamic radical with a nuclear weapon – would frighten the American Left more than a conservative with the ability to speak freely. I must apologize. It apparently is much closer to reality than I ever dreamed. From what I read here, there are actually people who consider themselves "enlightened" who would support the muzzling of American citizens and would support turning America's counterterrorism network INward, on fellow citizens whose only crime is disagreeing with the policies of the man they elected president and vocalizing that disagreement. Scary stuff here.

What a joke. Extremist threats are not the problem. Our gigantic, interfering government is the problem.

Right Wing Terrorism?

I dont even know where to begin with this insane article!

The government gets tea bags in protest and people assemble and the freak liberals and Homeland Security under Obama warns of "Right Wing Terrorism"...

The propaganda by the left is so full of insanity its pathetic...

This article sounds like a Barny Frank rant!!!

This is hilarious! Not only are conservatives irrelevant, now they're suspected terrorists.

BWAHAHA!

Watch out for those Obama supporters's high on that Obama Kool-Aide.

I would be embarrassed to call myself a "Republican" nowadays. I left that party in 2006 and I haven't regretted it since.

Wow, all these Left wing Government worshiping freaks are out in full force today. They dont understand that both dems and republicans are angry at the Government and how they allow Corp greed, Illegal Immigration and other things. All these Left wing Government worshiping idiots have never listened to ONE show of Hannity, O'Riley, and Beck. I dont buy into 100% of what they say because they do reach to bash the libs, however, I am sick and tired of hearing from MSNBC and CNN and every other paper, how illegal immigration is great, God is horrible and that Islamic terrorists and nice people. Just the other day some idiot reporter from the Daily Kos said that the reason for the Pirates is our fault. But whatever what do I care.

When the Left wing gays were rioting in Cali about Prop 8 nobody said anything. When they were storming churches or knocking down people, nobody cared. When Ayers was bombing the capital and killed police the left didnt care. The left is far more dangerous because they actually hate America.

I have no problem with disagreeing with the policies of the president, in fact I did so proudly and loudly for eight years, ending in January of this year. I do have a problem with shooting policemen, calling for the violent overthrow of the United States government and walking into a church and opening fire on the congregation. Right wingers can express their political beliefs all they want, but when they encourage violence, when they engage in "eliminationism", they have stepped over the line and are engaging in sedition. This is not acceptable. Timothy McVeigh was responsible for deaths of Americans, William Ayres was not. There is no comparison. The left is not threatening anybody; the threats and acts of violence, murder and terrorism are coming from lunatics on the far right who are influenced by the likes of Beck, Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage et al. Listen to the rhetoric of Fox News and compare it to what Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow say on their shows. There is no comparison. Olberman and Maddow never advocated violence or the overthrow of the government or the administration in power, even when G. W. Bush was wiretapping American citizens, engaging in torture and allowing Americans to die in Iraq and in New Orleans. The right, on the other hand, is advocating violence, murder and mayhem. The right is as bad as the anarchists of the 1920s. Attempting to point the finger in the other direction will fool nobody except those who are already blinded by the right. And they are a sorry but occasionally dangerous lot.

Isn't it funny how Republican commentators and politicians can talk so crazy and radical, and on the same hand consistently provide ZERO proof that what they're saying might not be even partially true?

The whole FEMA camps thing that that batsh*t crazy Glenn Beck was parroting the last few months (before someone from FOX got into his ear about how ridiculous he was making them look) was the perfect example: 'Well, I can't PROVE that I'm wrong, so I'm just going to assume that I'm right by default!'

Yeah, isn't that easy? I, Glenn Beck, don't have to provide step one towards supporting or backing up ANYTHING I believe in when it comes time to arguing my case with anybody!

Gee, this is fun. Let's try it with global warming! Oh, and tax policy!

It's such lazy intellectualism, no wonder the Republican base aligns so perfectly with these clowns.

Thank goodness that all you "intelligent" people who write on these comment boards would never have the guts or smarts to say the crap you spew on these comment sections in the real world. Maybe if all of you, liberal or conservative, had a bit more empathy, tried not to see everything in such black and white terms (I know it's hard), and actually tried to thoughtfully construct your opinions, the world wouldn't have so many crazies and idiots.

JB, you are spot on here. This is straight out of Orwell's 1984- remember the "thought police." Just because conservatives don't buy into "the One's" narrative doesn't mean we will be whipped into a frenzy by Rush et al... And to think Obama was a Constitutional Law professor...

No Marco, the "evil" government is not trying to demonize conservatives. Conservatives are doing it all by themselves. Conservatives are more violent and more willing to use violence to get their way. How quickly the conservative movement forgotten how they supported a president who would spy on Americans without a warrant and equate disagreement with their president with helping the terrorists.

Conservatives have extremely flexible standards. If they do something it's always good and if liberals do something it's always bad. They never admit when they're wrong and blame their mistakes on others. I question the patriotism of any conservative who want our current president to fail even if it means damaging the country.

Mexican drug lords overrunning to our border; is not the problem. Mindless hate filled veterans coming home after protecting our freedom and becoming extremists is the problem.
Here’s a solution. Let’s imprison all people who do not agree with the government. Let them get re-educated while in custody and if that doesn’t work we can deport them. After all, this is the land of the free.

"Apparently, left wing extremists like Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, who actually set off bombs in public buildings, are just hunky dorey."

That was then, this is now. Except for some enviromentalist whackos who target industries they regard as polluters, the real bomb-throwing (and threat thereof) is coming from the right in this country. Period.

Let's just have a Civil War right now and get all the talking over with!

Just so I understand this correctly...

The liberals just completed a massive campaign reviling the "politics of fear" and all the evil fear-mongering of the Bush administration and conservatives in general.

Now, the same fear tactic is utilized by the left and it is spun as a patriotic call to circle the wagons? Gee, no hypocrisy there...

Further, posts such as the one from "shosh" state "So the right wingers are becoming something that they claimed they hated; terrorists. With all the namecalling they do, it is they who are terrorizing America" even though absolutely none of the forewarned evil has actually transpired. Meanwhile, Joe states confidently that "We're going to have another McVeigh in this country and it's going to be on the head of the GOP." Enjoy painting with a rather broad brush of accusation, don't you Joe? (assuming he's even correct)

NOW the left wants to jump to fearful conclusions...but only when it best suits their agenda. Not much of a two way street there. Doesn't seem to do too much with regard to getting past the partisan political differences they claimed to want to end.

You remember those two pillars of your great program, Hope & Change? Sure you do!

Unfortunately, in the liberal mind, it went more like "I hope all the dumb conservatives change their mind to see how right us super-smart liberals are about everything!"

If I don't agree with and / or like Obama, then it must be because I'm racist, right? There couldn't possibly be any other reason, because who could be against him? That would be just crazy, because he's just, well...great! Right? No intelligent person could think otherwise, and we libs should know, because we are the only ones who have intelligence...just ask us.

That reasoning is also the perfect copout for libs...that and the screaming as to how evil the "conservative media" is (Rush, Fox, Beck, et. al.) . Why is it that there never seems to be much complaining from you same people about all the hate that comes out of YOUR sizable portion of the media (major networks, MSNBC, NY Times, et. al.)?

Again, it's a good thing you libs aren't hypocrits...that would be so embarrassing for people of such superior intellect. As well as just plain gosh.

BTW, is it just me or is Ms. Napolitano one of the more unfortunate looking people in recent memory? Maybe SHE'S the one who's really angry...and could you blame her?

I'm just sayin'.

The thing that kills me about this article is if it was talking about extreme liberlism, the liberals would be screaming racism.

With a statement like this, ""Rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on the economy, perceived loss of U.S. jobs... and home foreclosures,'' the report notes. And anti-Semitic extremists attribute all this to "a cabal of Jewish 'financial elites" I know we're reading a communist propaganda piece.

Perceived loss of US jobs.... and home forclosures??? Where are these people writing from - Germany?

Don - you didn't give us the days casualty list from Afghanistan pal - get to work!

I left the DNC in 2008 and have not looked back. Revolution is here !!!

Homeland Security needs something to justify its enormous budget, so they create fear. And isn't it odd how every time liberals take control of government, we get warnings of right-wing extremists, yet we seem to never get warnings of left-wing extremists when conservatives control government.

News flash: Patriots are not terrorists. What a bunch of chicken livered losers.

Sounds like Germany in the 1930s to me.

Extremism, on both sides, is equally dangerous.
There is one quote I heard years ago that stuck with me, as it is so true.

"Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left."

Another right-wing murderer whose crime got very little attention...

http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2009/02/we-can-see-why-bernie-goldbergs-book.html

And there is no left wing extremist bias in the media? Since the 60s there has been more terrorist bombings in this country by left wing extremists than anybody else. I guess if the cause is to make our country more Marxist, then all is well with you liberal wackos. Liberalism truly is a mental disorder!

(Homeland Security should also be warning against LEFTWING EXTREMISTS as well. They are just as dangerous as the Far Right!)

True, a nut job is is a nut job, no matter what stripe. But far left-wing nut jobs are not burying heaps of guns and ammo in their back yards.

One thing I've noticed about the Republican posters on here and elsewhere: They love to say crazy sh*t but when they have their own words read back to them it makes them even more crazy. Modern day Republicans are like a bi-polar patient, they play both the part of the thug and the part of the victim.

I hope the families of the three dead cops that were killed by a right-wing white supremist in Pittsburgh last week have lawyers And I hope their attorneys are paying attention! Glenn Beck should be sued for inciting a wacko right-wing base that does things like use AK-47s to gun down peace officers in the discharge of their lawful duty. Pittsburgh had to bury three fine police officers, but I doubt Beck feels a shred of guilt.
.

A Federal Agency issues a report that says Federal policies are creating a backlash. Some people, let's call them right wing and conservative, are so upset that they are communicating with others about their concern for fundamental rights. These people need to be spied upon, their guns confiscated and their speech silenced. That will teach these right wing nuts not to trust their government. It is amusing that our new Fascist government is concerned about people that still worship the last failed one.

The Fourth Reich has seized power.

This is not new. What is new is an administration that recognizes right-wing violence, "militas," racists, clinic bombers and others as a threat worthy of attention. The Bush administration conveniently overlooked dangers from the right.

I believe they are speaking about extreme right wing groups, such as white supremacists and neo-nazis. Tim McVeigh and the Montana Militia. Oh, have we forgot about those groups in all of our "socialist", "kool-aid", and "Bill Ayers" talk? I also want to say that Homeland Security maybe took notice to the stockpiling of weapons. If you don't think the government should take notice of people stockpiling automatic weapons, then I don't know what to say to you. If an Islamic man buys a machine gun, a lot of ammunition and some fertilizer, would you want the government to check in on that? So why shouldn't they check in on the christian coalition man who does the same thing?

You're kidding!

The extremist is the president of this country.

This type of information from Homeland Security just goes to show how the Obama administration will do anything and everything to stifle the opposition.

Using a government office to issue a paper that doesn't include anybody, but the "right" just days before April 15th, the Tea Party Day.

This is the president, 69 million people voted for.

The 58 million who didn't vote for Obama will not vote for him in 2012 and enough of the 69 million will vote against Obama in the next election.

Using an arm of the government to disrupt normal freedom of speech and assembly.

Janet Napolitano should be fired for allowing this report.

Like everyone else posted -the 60's radicals- B. Dorhn and husband, Bill Ayres-who said he would do the US bombings all over again; all the while he stood on an American flag for a photo op) are Obama associates and were a part of the social upheaval in the US. They planned bombings! Innocent Americans were murdered by those left wing radicals. Children nearly were killed.

There are serious problems in this country. The American public has been fooled by the current administration.

Out with Pelosi, Reid, Emanuel and Obama.

The compulsory service initiated by Obama will require "meetings".

This country started to fall apart when the public schools were left to the radicals. They manipulated the curriculum and included unnecessary programs.

Get the government out of schools. That was the failure of this country...it's educational system was abandon to those who corrupted it.

DHS was a creation of the previous administration. If you have a problem with it, blame Boosh.

When the DEMs lose seats in congress in 2010 that will all be attributed to Angry White Men (againa)... ideology, fear, avoiding accountability and hunger for power is all this DEM party is based on...

But lets hear more about the dog, the garden, the toned arms, and ordering pizza from St louis...

Don't forget the right-wing pirates trying to hijack the Senate seat in Minnesota. They will hold it hostage for as long as they can. Then their counterparts in the Senate will probably try a filibuster to prevent Franken from being seated.

"

Of course they would, nitwit. The difference is that happened 30 to 40 years ago...

Jeez...

Where were these big-mouth, moronic Republicans when their Moron-in Chief was spying on Americans, torturing captives and throwing our tax dollars down that black hole, known as Iraq !!? Where were they when their incompetent leaders, the draft-dodgers, Bush and Cheney, were lying to America about WMD ? Where were they !!? They were defending the morons !! Now we have an Agency, that will be protecting us from the possible threat of other McVeighs and we have some that are against the idea. What is going on there ? I don't think they want to see another federal building blown to bits, by a whacked American !! I, sure in the heck, hope that is the case !! I think these Republicans better get back to civics class and find out what a good citizen is !! It sure isn't hoping and praying that our President and our country, fail !! Nor is it, lying about our President and our Congress, just to serve their sick agenda !! The Republican Party, that of the WMD, have really sunk, to new lows !!! I hope they are happy, with the climate they are creating. It stinks and so do they !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

...and here I thought Timothy McVeigh (see above) was already dead.

@Pam What is new is that Homeland can't point to a single credible example to support their claim. Pointing to a nut case in Pittsburgh that no one defends as an example of growing extremism, shows that this is nothing more than the power of government being used to silence dissent.

More telling was the left's support of the cop killer in Cali that was also a child rapist. I guess for the left cop killing is justified as long as they have the D demographic.

But please continue to demonize those that disagree with the government and assume they can all be placed in a neat stereotypical box, Janet and Obama applaud you.

GONE IN 24 MONTHS

I guess the libs forgot about the unibomber, remenber him and his manifesto? fear mongering by the left or the right is wrong. each side has its wackos. the majority of people are more centrered. protesting the actions of government policies is what this country was founded on.

Another propaganda statement from the left:

Chris Matthews, MSNBC host, said the Tea Parties were "anti-government".

What is wrong with these people?

The Obama and his administration scare the hell of me.

Taking away freedoms.

It's about time. There's a whole noew breed of Timothy McVeighs out there.

Thanks to the NRA, Faux News, Druggy Rush and their careless mouths of a phony menace - a bunch of low IQ right-wing unfortunates believe dangerous fantasies of militian posturing. However can a weak paranoid Wingnut live confidently without a weapon? Republican learship has already turned Freedom into Greedom.

The gun manufacturers, retailers, etc (who have made a killing off of right-wing paranoia) are also stoking the flames of the Republican sociopaths here. Lots of $$$ to be made by scaring the (already) paranoid and weak minded Wingnuts.

To most of the media and the Obama administration, Thomas Jefferson would be a right-wing extremist. The British Crown also had it's "homeland security" after the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Republicans would do better to stick to teabagging themselves rather than picking up weapons just because they got their asses kicked in the last two elections.

Of course that would be assuming that what's left of the Republican base is sane.....so far they haven't shown any sign of that.

But in this case, even while reporting that the Department of Homeland Security "has no specific information'' that any rightwing terrorists are planning any violence,'' the agency warns that they "may be gaining recruits by playing on their fears'' about several "emergent issues.''

NO INFORMATION but Michelle can sound the fear Klaxon.

So this is the new truth and transparency INVENT NON-ISSUES to take the heat off the real deal. Illegals getting a free pass from Pelosi etc.

For those repeating "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW."

Bush is no longer the commander in chief. Obama is. He's not withdrawing the troops from Iraq any faster than Bush proposed. Obama has proposed increasing the deployment in Afghanistan, sending the Navy against the pirates, and, on occasion, chasing bin Laden in Pakistan, using American troops.

Rather than decry the right wing, maybe you people should complain about the person for whom you voted (assuming that you don't mind the pirate threat, but are so concerned about the unidentifed right wing terrorists on the radio).

What about all those right-wing extremists that are in political office in Israel? that have visas and are free to enter the USA and raise funds for their cause?

That's where we need a crackdown, on spies too.

Anarchists are the most likely extremist group to cause trouble, and they are Leftists that hide their faces behind masks.

Right Wing = Less than human.

It's now official.

And, that includes Libertarians too!!

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glen Beck aren't "conservatives" rather they're Israel-firster, neocons who give conservatism a bad name. Real conservatives put America first, not other countries.

More telling was the left's support of the cop killer in Cali that was also a child rapist. I guess for the left cop killing is justified as long as they have the D demographic.

Teresa,
The reason you can't point to any proof that the "D demographic"supported some nut in Cali is because it's something that you made up in your little teabagging mind.

So,if you speak against greedy jews or corrupt government -you are automatically terrorist?
Sad,it took only 200 years to destroy everything our country was founded and based on.

Janet Napolitano should resign immediately. This is how it began in Germany in the 1930's. Anyone who disagrees with obami is a terrorist? Anyone who believes in the 2nd Amendment is the enemy?
More versions of Ruby Ridge and Waco are coming, people better wake up soon before the Constitution is wiped out by the communists in this administration.

In a not unsurprising move the Department of Homeland Security has decided to ignore the obvious threat of illegals crossing the southern border and muslims crossing any border to concentrate on the federal government's recognized public enemy #1 aka. the middle class.
They say that hindsight is 20-20. Well now I can see Timothy McVeigh perfectly.

Finally this homeland security agency nails it. Middle aged white supremist types are have a nuclear meltdown since Obama won the election by a landslide. The Bu$h and big business supporters will simply not accept this duly elected president and are calling for the overthrow of our government. Remember the saying " my enemys enemy is my friend " and among this ragtag group are church people as well as nazi types. Politics does make strange bedfellows.

Ah, it seems the common man can not have an opinion of his own and that he must be the same mind as the federal government even if he does not support government entitlements.

It appears that the United States is straying from the Constitution and people need to wake up! It will not be long before you have no freedom at all!

Beware, the government is a wolf in sheep's clothing promising change you are looking for. It is not change you will want for the long term--you will be a slave to the government.

Pretty soon, speaking Republican ideas publicly will get you imprisoned by Homeland Security. What better way for the dems to stay in power. Speak out, this is an outrage!

This so called “report” from the DHS would be side-splitting funny were it not so stupid. Take a good look at this so-called report. It doesn’t say there is evidence that right-wing hate groups are actually planning to do anything, violent or otherwise; that any such groups are actually recruiting malcontents; or even that some group is stirring up the rhetoric based on any of the identified areas of potential controversy. It says nothing of the sort. It simply said that A POSSIBILITY EXISTS that some right-wing hate groups MIGHT recruit or MIGHT stir up the rhetoric based on a number of POTENTIAL areas of interest to certain malcontents. Of course, it is also possible that no such thing is occurring. Yet, based on all of these categorical, a priori assumptions, the federal government is going to spend money and man-hours in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies to monitor right wing groups?
.
I could make as plausible an argument that right-wing radical groups are all stirred up over the spotty importation of bananas from South America. If one doesn’t have a pistol (because they have all been horded), then what better instrument is there to practice holding a gun than to heft a banana? (And they’re nutritious too). Of course, all those right wing hate group recruits, not having previously thought of buying a firearm until it was too late, are stuck practicing with bananas. And, of course, anyone who frequents Costco® or other, similar warehouse based store knows how inconsistent the supplies of bananas from South America have been over the last year. Therefore, those lousy haters, who may or may not be planning something, are possibly up in arms, er . . . bananas, over the loss of faux arms with which to practice. I’m sure there may be chatter on the internet right now, and hate groups everywhere might be recruiting on that basis.
.
If there is any humor in this story, it consists of the fact that so many of you Kool-Aid drinking pseudo-liberal types responded to the story with a collective, “Aha!” In your own minds you have turned all the “maybes” and “possibilities” into concrete threats. The rest of us are laughing at you. That goes double for you, Don.

Gee -- the selective amnesia of the right wing is pathetic.

Here are some names for you:
Daniel Cowart
Paul Schlesselman
(Arrested in Tennessee in Oct. for planning a plot to kill Obama)

Or how about:
Tharin Gatrell
Sons of Silence
(Arrested in Denver in Aug. for assasination plot)

It seems to me that this warning is late - it should have been issued last year....

What about Eric Rudolph?
Ted Kaczynski?
Gordon Liddy?

Extremist right wing violence is just a myth. Let's ask the relatives of the following:

How about we sum up all of the damage left wing extreemists have caused to cities, states and the nation.

Let us then compare it to the same dollar figure caused by the far right (Timmy boy was working for the Iranians, he doesn't count).

How does it stack up so far?

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Thomas Jefferson

illogical syllogism 2009 - timothy mcveigh was both dangerous and was "right wing" - anyone who doesn't approve of what congress is doing must be republican and therefore "right-wing" - conclusion; anyone who speaks out against the incompetence of this democrat congress is dangerous - dangerous people must be rounded up and suppressed by the police state - therefore; all who say anything bad about these current clowns in office should be arrested and SILENCED

illogical syllogism 1939 - jews and nazi antagonists are inferior and/or stand in the way of our "progressive" state - inferiors and those who stand in the way of our "progressive" state are dangerous - those who are "dangerous" must be rounded up by our police and/or killed - conclusion: jews and all who aid them or oppose us must be rounded up and imprisoned and/or killed

logic 2009 - we had 4 million children born into poverty as the children of illegal immigrants in 2008 (at an accelerating rate) - our current entitlements are already more than we can afford - doing absolutely nothing more about illegal immigration will not stop this acceleration and may hasten it - the economic status of EVERY american including those children depends upon fixing these and other problems - conclusion: doing nothing more is a very BAD idea and will tend to lead to our nation's demise therefore we must do BETTER than we are doing now at stemming this problem

ANTI-logic 2009 - anyone who speaks out about the danger of illegal immigration is a "radical right winger" and should be rounded up by our police and SILENCED

the fascists in this country are the demoCRITES - this memo is evidence - and they only fear those who are speaking out because the truth is their enemy - sorry but the shoe fits

Conservatives...hahaha. What did conservatives ever conserve other than their own pockets.

I'm all for ridding society of hateful rightwingers, whether they be white or Arab supremacists.

Good riddance and go plague some other planet.

Indeed, the country is very close to the financial situation of Hitler's Germany. I daresay we'll see more and more violence and extremism as long as people are losing their jobs. When jobs come back, when people can support their families, when people can pay their mortgages and not worry about foreclosure, when people can feel like they can spend on fun again, things will quiet down and the nut-jobs will crawl back into the woodwork.

America has been arming these wacko right wingers, and now realizes there's a problem? It's been a problem. So take the guns away from these crazies. We're tired of reading about them shooting their own family members.

I have written in the past that the military was the only thing saving us from the evil democrats who rule everything. A veteran said not to forget them. So Homeland Security now targets veterans and the national veteran's group fired off an email to Homeland Security. The enemies of this government are patriots who believe a white nation shouldn't be ruled by a black man, who are absolutely against the abomination of abortion and sodomy, who are against woman's lib and the illegal barbarians from Mexico invading the country. Like Michael Savage said, Big Sister [Janet] is watching you."

I expect things to build until one of the rightwinger sociopaths does something really, really stupid and gets a lot of innocent people killed.

Remember how the right-wing white supremist militia movement grew until Timothy McVeigh's group set off the Oklahoma City bomb?

After that happened a lot of the poseurs suddenly realized that it was a dangerous game they were playing and supporting.

Most of these right-wing nutjobs who are currently shooting their mouths off are in reality nothing more than wimpy armchair chicken-hawks....

90 days and BO is going after those that dissent against the gov't. Ironically this report comes out the day before the tax paying citizens of this country protest the wasteful spending of our gov't. Homeland security has just become a political arm of the democratic party.
.
What does homeland have to say about the Earth Liberation Front, Animal Liberation Front, the FALN, the kooks you see at economic summits. Are those loons are homeland's radar?
.
Remember, the only difference between Timothy McVeigh and Bill Ayers is that McVeigh knew how to make the bomb go "boom"

Ah! barak the fascist obama ibn hussein is preparing the Kristallnacht and the Reichstag fire ?
What a shock.

Teabagger Terri,
Yeah....and that proves what? That Timothy McVeigh was a well trained right-wing nutjob?

Not surprising when you consider how many fringe right-wing white supremist groups operate in this country. Blowing sh*t up or shooting someone is just another day at the office for the sociopaths that you support, Terri.

Liberals have been fond of saying that the US government stimulated terrorism in Iraq by their very presence in the country. By that same logic, the current oppressive government may indeed inspire revolutionaries.

All the Fox-phobia deodorant the left sprays into the blogs cannot cover the stench of this out-of-control, regressive, spendthrift administration. Obama, Pelosi, Reed, and Frank make Bush look like a the taxpayer's friend by comparison.

Yeah right!

This is just another ploy for getting our guns!

This is a joke, right? The nuts are running the asylum.

Dan - sorry but you are an ID EEE Uht - again the shoe fits so wear it - Ted Kazinski was not a right winger by any stretch of anyone's imagination but he was a nut as was mcveigh - neither was representative of any legitimate political movement - however, let's talk about randy weaver who was a bit nutty but NEVER hurt anyone or committed any felony (as proven in legal proceedings) but his wife and kids were shot by the government as a MURDEROUS act of OVER-REACTING to a "perceived" threat by another administration with an axe to grind - so history shows we should be scared of the government not any legitimate political movement - apparently you are OK with murder as long as it's the murder of the wife and kids of a "rightwinger" - even those who have never hurt anyone or broken any law - I WILL SPEAK OUT AGAINST CHRIS DODD AND BARNEY FRANK AND CHARLES SCHUMAN AS AN AMERICAN WITH EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO - LIVE WITH IT - IT IS OUR DUTY TO POINT OUT THESE FRAUDS AND YOU ARE TRYING TO USE A POLICE STATE TO SILENCE 1/2 OF THE NATION - LITERALLY - JUST SO THESE FRAUDS CAN STAY IN CONTROL OF YOU - ID EEE UHT - btw , what crime did liddy ever commit after watergate???? dan, get over yourself - you are not NEARLY as smart as you think you are - p.s. the nazis were leftist not right wing - many americans thought them progressive and they cloaked their dark eugenic theories in the "science" of their day - that is a historical fact - not an opinion

Oh, I see the scoundrels and nitwits are wrapping themselves in Old Glory, again. They sure took their defeat, in the presidential election, extremely hard. Hey, boys and girls, grow up and realize that each of us, think differently and have different ideas. It doesn't mean that I love this country any more than you do, but I don't go around agitating other people, to do unforgivable acts !! That your agenda means more to you than the success of our nation, and our President, President Obama, is unacceptable and unAmercan. You are the ones trying to tear our country apart, because you didn't like the choice of the electorate of America !! Well, that issue is over and if you want to start trouble, there will be those who will resist your unAmerican acts. Please, quit deluding yourselves, or trying to delude others, that you are the reincarnation of the American Revolutionaries, you act more like the english, wanting to protect their fiefdom, but that is doomed to failure !! America will not tolerate treasonable acts, I don't care if you are wearing Uncle Sam's suit, or not !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

To sum it all up, this report was brought to us by the administration of the bowed Barack, something a patriotic veteran would never do.

For the present would worry more about the the "Left Wings" in the White House and Congress.

Don Fitzgerald said:

Don, I don't seem to recall you being very supportive of the previous administration throughout your semmingly endless posts. Can you point out a time when you were? I didn't think so. When you protested everything, it was patriotic to protest. Now, because your choice for president occupies the White House, you choose to label it as "unAmerican." Pick a lane, Don.

For the record, Mr. Fitzgerald, I am a conservative with a good (but not great) paying job. I pay my mortgage and my taxes, and while I do not appreciate the path the current administration seems to favor, I harbor no sinister plans for extremist plots. Believe it or not, the great majority of BOTH sides of this are in similar positions.

You choose to insult people with comments such as "morons" and what have you as a way to seemingly make your point. Often due to this, it is you that appears to be the foaming at the mouth radical...one who may be hell-bent on some sort of crazy plot. Should there be a report from DHS warning us of your and your kind as well?

Don, I know your type. Were you to find yourself face to face with me (or likely anyone else you disagreed with), you would sit there in stone silence. Only after you had raced home to your keyboard would you find the "courage" to respond.

And as for your signature "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" tagline (we get it now, Don) - my closest friend is a distinguished Iraq war veteran. I read him your comment and he bristled that he was indeed interested in coming home...but not until the job was complete.

Would you call him a "moron" as well? I severely doubt it, at least not to his face.

Those who say that support the troops and have stayed quiet with the DHS attacking returned solders, where are you?
Maybe it doesn't fit your activist agenda to criticize the appointment of the DHS, and you agree with the report.

Hear, hear! Well said, Freddy.

Wow. I mean wow.So because I have SOME of the same political views as a nut, even though I have no desire to kill or blow things up, then I am lumped into the same category. I listen to Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. I don't agree with everything they say, but I think they make a lot of valid points. Never while listening to them did I get the urge to become violent. Inspired to get involved, to make my voice heard, yes, violent, NO. And I must be just dumb as a post, because I cannot figure out how political leanings and racism are related. We throw around labels like confetti, and everyone just eats it up. Grow up people. BTW, liberal and socialist are not synonyms either, just wanted to make sure you knew I understood that. Just because someone says it on TV, talk radio, blogs, etc does not make it so. Listen to it and judge for yourself. Use that mental capacity God gave you to discern what is worthy of pondering and what is trash.
WAIT! To fit into the general tone of the comments, I should say this:
To all you 'libs' out there-- I hope you live, long, happy and prosperous lives. I hope you have healthy children and that you and yours always live in a free country where your rights are respected and liberty and justice reign! I hope, if you haven't already, that someday before you die you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and that I get to see you in Heaven.
Thats right kiddies! I am a Christian! And you guessed it, I am against abortion! I guess that puts me on the terror watch list. But you know what, I don't have the slightest impulse to do any harm to people who have or who perform abortions. What do you think about that.
Please people, stop the insanity. Stop lumping people together (profiling....ooh a 'liberal' word, I like it!) and take responsibility for your own thinking.
Our government is out of control. I am concerned for our future because we have a bunch of self serving politicians running things(on the right and left) instead of public servants. We need to take back our country. The Tea Party movement may be the way. If enough people can network together and pick someone from among them (as opposed to someone 'seeking' political office) maybe it is possible. The difficulty lies with getting a majority. Without that, you are dead in the water. I think this is one of the reasons people become desperate, and start throwing around words like revolution, and overthrow. God Bless!

My thoughts exactly.

I saw someone doing a body count of right wing extremist vs left wing extremist.

Hitler was a right wing extremist, so was Imperial Japan. Racism is right wing. It conserves things like racial hatred. Racial tolerance is a new modern concept. Racial intolerance is an old concept. Conservatism keeps things like they were (aka racism). Conservatives favor war, liberals favor peace.

World War II cost 72 million lives at the hands of right wing extremism. There's your body count.

Posted by: John R | April 14, 2009 3:51 PM
.
Yes, indeed! And when Republicans supported Bush & Cheney in their efforts to wiretap individuals without having to deal with those nasty ole laws that regulated such things, when they took it on themselves to designate "enemy combatants" as anybody they might DECIDE was an enemy combatant, when they decided that it was legal to suspend habeas corpus, never once thinking to themselves: "Is this right? Should they be doing this?", THAT was when it started. THAT was your "don't speak out -- get in line" moment, and you missed it! It started when others (as noted above) started saying they weren't quite comfortable with having their rights taken away from them, but what did you righties have to say about that? Terrorist-Lovers? Traitors? Loons? Get out if you don't like it here? I do believe that was a sample of things I recall reading at the time. I also recall some friendly "the only good liberal is a dead liberal"'s getting thrown in for the fun of it all.
.
You STILL don't realize that if you'd stopped Bush in his tracks THEN, the precedent could not have been made for Obama to do this NOW. What you allowed for Bush is now TOTALLY fair for Obama.
.
Personally, I don't think anything's going to come of this. Doubtful anybody's going to be arrested in the night (unless you guys actually decide to ACT on those threats of violence you've been making lately -- all, of course, in the friendly spirit of "turnabout is fair play"). If, however, it DOES, it'll be SQUARELY at the feet of those who let it happen four or five years ago because they figured a Republican couldn't possibly be a threat.
.
Republicans made this bed ALL on their own by not saying "NO!" to Bush when he started dismantling FISA, and somehow I find it difficult to be empathetic now that they find it uncomfortable to sleep in it.

Smooth Jazz -

Your "argument" is so completely full of holes, I don't even know where to begin. I suppose that when you are able to create your own definitions for everything, it becomes much easier to justify them.

But why bother attempting to refute your genius? You are probably right - all of WWII is the fault of conservatives. In fact, why stop there? All evil is also due to conservatism.

You do know that Hitler was a socialist, right? Mussolini? Tojo? Stalin? The list goes on...and it doesn't exactly support your "theory."

When you say things such as "Conservatives favor war, liberals favor peace." you expose yourself.

Your jazz may be smooth. Your logic, however?

Not so much...

Obama gonna pay my mortgage! (With your money)

Hey Smooth Jazz,

I guess the millions of American hating Muslims are all right wingers too. You also left out: Pol Pot, Stalin, Hussein, Rwanda, Somalia, Darfur, (heck any African nation practically), Bosnia, Armenia . . . I could go on, but I don't want to overwhelm you.

BTW - "racism is right wing" I think Jesse Jackson, Rev, Wright, Al Sharpton and the other race-baiters of that ilk might take serious offense at you calling them right-wingers.

God man, read a book or something.

.
What you know about conservatism, “right wing” versus “left wing” or the forces that snuffed out 72 million lives during World War II, I could stuff in my left eye with little or no discomfort.
.
The original reference to “right wing” and “left wing” was to the seating arrangement in the French Parliament. Those who sat on the “right” were aristocrats, monarchists and anyone else who favored “Hobbesian”-style government domination. Those who sat on the left were classical or true “liberals,” anarchists and anyone else who championed the rights of the individual against the prerogatives of the State. In fewer words, right-wingers were statists, and left wingers were individualists. Before they took the reigns of any government, socialists and communists were (erroneously) included in with those on the “left” because of their advocacy for social justice for individuals at the expense of the State. Once, however, socialism or communism became the basis for government, and especially in cases of totalitarian governments, their place in politics should have most definitely been recognized as being on the “right.”
.
Using that same model today, most mainstream Democrats and Republicans would all be considered “right-wingers” because the political framework for each party involves support for statism. That is, both tend to favor increased governmental intervention into the economy and society, although each for separate reasons peculiar to their own pernicious agendum. And, of course, the aforementioned model is just as good as any - inasmuch as most talking heads don’t otherwise seem to understand or well define what makes up “conservatism,” “liberalism,” or even the “left” versus “right” continuum.
.
By parity of reasoning, all of those folks out there who get vilified as “right wingers” for wishing the government to just leave them alone are actually “left wingers.” If they are toting arms as part of a larger “leave-us-alone” conspiracy, then they are militant left wingers.
.
“Conservatism” and “conservatives” can be classified as either more or less “right wing” or “left wing” depending on the starting point of the political institutions in a given country. That’s because conservatism isn’t really a complete political ideology by itself. It is merely a political philosophy that emphasizes respect for traditional institutions, distrust of government activism, and opposition to sudden change in the established order. If the starting point was a minimalist government, then conservatism could well be a left-wing phenomenon. In England, conservatism could well be viewed as “right-wing” owing to the constitutional monarchy there. In America, in contrast, the political views of many conservatives are not far from those of classical liberals because our frame of government was founded on classical liberalism. History has, unfortunately, furnished us recently with some rather aberrant examples to the contrary. That is especially true of neo-conservatives who have no respect for the limitations of government set forth in the Constitution. (Of course, neo-liberals have little respect for those limitations too.)
.
The forces responsible for snuffing out 72 million people during World War II represented extreme statism. All of them, whether Continental Socialists turned Nazis or Marxist Socialists championing Communism, rejected classical liberalism in its totality, and especially classical liberalism’s assertion of the rights of the individual against the State. To them, the State was paramount to any individual or personal right, as the individual lived only to serve the collective State. In turn, the State reciprocated by protecting and providing for its subjects. None were fundamentally different in theory from earlier forms of autocratic feudalism. For those STNG fans who don’t know what any of this means, think of the bad guys as “the Borg.”
.
In light of the foregoing, it is entirely nonsensical to equate “conservatism” or “conservatives” with the Nazis or Communists who decimated Europe in the 20th Century. Conservatives still cherish the notion of the individual and individual rights against the State, and they abhor the collectivism so favored by progressives. (Yes, my freedom is more precious than your bleeping nanny-state benefits.) As such, Nazism and American conservatism, as it is now constituted, cannot occupy the same space.
.
The people who should be feared, and even hated, are the do-gooders who would relieve you of your individual rights in exchange for some larger, philanthropic endeavor. Charity and philanthropy are good, but not when they come at an expense as high as the loss of freedom. Those are the same people who would turn a nation of individuals with rights into a collective monster. That they mean well doesn’t change the fact that some of the worst tyranny has come at the hand of such people. Hitler, too, thought he meant well toward his own collective “Volk.”

Well aren't you so smart little T.... however completely incorrect. You may have written a lot, but said nothing.
You refute my argument by saying Ted Kazinski is not a right-wing terrrorist. Do your research pal... Read his manifesto, the Industrial Society and the Future... maybe then you will see how he rails against the Leftists...
Your the ID EEE UT....

Trickled-On You,

What it proves is that Ayers and McVeigh had no different motives, they both had the same goals, it just that one of them knew how to execute his goal.

This is no different than the WTC bombings of 1993 and 2001. They both had the same objective, but only one executed the plan.

Smooth Jazz - please go study some history

.
You know, I can follow your recitation of historical facts, and can agree with a lot of it. What I can’t follow is the logic you employ.
.
The fact that Bush did something wrong, or many things wrong, or whatever you think he did wrong, it does not follow that his wrongs provide a valuable precedent for future Presidents to act the same way. What was illegal and/or unconstitutional when Bush did it, will still be illegal if a future President tries to do the same unless the laws or Constitution are amended in the meantime. I can’t recall anyone suggesting that Nixon’s tyrannical practices made it proper for any future President to safely do the same.
.
But, more to the point, the fact that some Bush supporters felt it necessary to practice what (from your description) sounds like McCarthyism, doesn’t provide a good reason for Democrats to do the same. It is either right or wrong. A change in political party doesn’t change its moral character. Furthermore, if we are supposed to prevent wrongs by speaking out against them - as you clearly suggest - then everyone else has some moral obligation not to obstruct others in by intimidating them with the very McCarthy-like tactics you profess to abhor. If Republicans failed in this moral duty when they were the party in power, so be it. Their wrong doesn’t make it a Democrat right.

The motives here are transparent. The best thing to do is make fun of the idiots who are running our country these day. Label yourself as a DHS Certified Right-Wing Extremist

Conservative or liberal is irrelevant.... Our government is trying to take away our amended rights. If this bill passes it will not stop here, so called "right wing extremists" are not the only ones being silenced, We all are, no good can come from this.

Can anyone tell me why the first lady is hijacking a political role in the white house? Was there some fine print I missed on the ballot forms? And they accused Palin of not being a good mother, running for vp. Oh Brother!

It is not an imagined danger, just ask those families, whose members, were the victims of right wing extremism, from the likes of McVeigh, and others !!

LOL!

I love this "McVeigh and others." Wow maybe I should push my own agenda by polarizing a certain section of U.S. society. I will use one example and follow it with "and others." First of all there is a difference in what the media and left wingers alike call "right-wing" and a conservative. Conservatives pose no threat to National security. Neo-nazis on the other hand are despicable human beings but if you actually believe them to be a threat you are pretty uneducated. They are no more a threat than any gangsta rapper is to taking out the police. People like McVeigh are few and far between. On the other hand, movies, novels, television shows, and shotty online journalism about such deviants are all over the place.
Furthermore if you are going to target (as the report suggests) people who are pro-life, pro-second amendment, and do not agree with Obama's political views and agendas; because of what online neo-nazis have been running their cowardly mouths about since the internet was created, perhaps we should flag you-tube flamers, forum flamers, etc. If you are going to target conservatives and use Timothy McVeigh as an example perhaps we should target African Americans and use people like Tookie for example. Perhaps we should target left wingers and use Bill Ayers for example. Perhaps we should just use the movie 12 Monkeys for example, because Brad Pitt recently said something about his face going....I think its code for melting the face of the U.S. with nuclear bombs.
This is an example of irresponsible government. What is funny to me is that while the report targets conservatives such implications can potentially ruin the rights of all "free thinking Americans".
You see I am a conservative in some areas. I am pro-life, but I am not under any illusions that this country will ever be anti-abortion again. At the same time I believe men are more responsible for the abortion rate than women. If men would take responsibility for their actions there would be less abortions, far less. The top reasons for abortion is financial inability to raise a child, father abandonment and denial, and in many cases the suggestion, and ultimatums of a father for the mother to abort.
But this is not a concern to most of society. As far as most people are concerned when I say I am "pro-life" it means I have dynamite stashed in my truck looking for a Planned Parenthood Facility to blow up.
Let's take a liberal stance, one that I also maintain. I am anti-death penalty. And to some in this country that makes me militant. It makes me disrespectful to the decisions handed down by our judicial system. I respect our judicial system, but acknowledge it is flawed. I do not believe a flawed system should ever determine something as imperative as "life and death" of anyone. If you get that one wrong in turn you are committing the same act you are putting the wrongfully accused down for. So to me one mistake in the death penalty system is hypocritical to the point of its justice. There are several cases of mistake in our judicial history, therefore we should never be determining life and death.
This will make me a radical in some cases. To some I am waiting to gun down a cop because he falsely arrested someone for murder. Or I am ready to shoot a judge in the head for sentencing someone falsely to death.
This is the problem with that silly report. Once we decide to target people for their "views" we won't stop. It will be anything that any government from this point decides is radical with no radical actions to prove this.
Idiots who support this report are digging their own graves and supporting treason! Yes TREASON! The DHS should be disbanded and imprisoned for this report. It is an act of TREASON! It will affect the right, left, and people like me who are mostly in the middle. It's a lesson this country should have damn well learned during the red scare when we were locking up and deporting people because they had one or two political ideals which supported communism ignoring the irony that even a full fledged communist should have a right in this country to his damn opinion and expression.
