No. 2 will take the mound today in Baltimore.
Now it's really Spring: Vice President Joe Biden will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Orioles Opening Day at Camden Yards today.
(One assumes that Biden, pictured in a recent AP photo, was not describing where that first pitch will cross the plate.)
The vice president will be accompanied to the mound by eight boys and girls from the Baltimore Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities League, a program founded by Major League Baseball and sponsored by the Baltimore Orioles Charitable Foundation, the White House says.
Among the missions of this group is teaching teamwork.
The coach of the White House team is away.
President Obama is in Turkey, nearing the end of a weeklong trek across Europe that started with the G-20 summit in London, included a NATO summit in Strasbourg and European Union summit in Prague and closes with a two-city tour of a secular Muslim nation which Obama is sponsoring in its bid for EU membership.
But today, all eyes are on Camden Yards.

Conservative baseball fans will no doubt take Obama to task for having the nerve to be out of the country trying to save the world through skilled diplomacy rather than throw out the first pitch for the hapless Nationals...

We wait with breathless anticipation for Joe to throw a good ole' fashion political curve ball as he dons his hat backwards, signifying the "rally cap" for Obama's non-stimulated economy, his floundering Treasury Secretary, and the " slobberfest" by the Europeans over us arrogant Americans now humbled by their own President as NK fires off a political missile revealing the emptiness of American retribution in confronting dangerous weapons of mass destruction by rogue nations.

Matt,
.
Actually I like it when BO is out of the country - less things he can screw up at home
