Barack Obama, he with the audacity to hope, has to root for the underdog.

He did, today, in the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, lending a little presidential push to the last-place contestant in the egg race on the South Lawn.

"I'm not really in charge here today,'' the president said outside the White House today. "My sole job, in addition to thanking Fergie for that wonderful rendition of our National Anthem and thanking my buddy, the Easter Bunny, for being here, is to introduce my First Lady, your First Lady, Michelle Obama.''

"Our goal today is just to have fun,'' the first lady said.
