Photographer Ron Edmonds of the AP has sources close to the nest.
by Mark Silva
Sure it's Spring at the White House when the best picture around is that of the nesting Robins outside the West Wing.
Ron Edmonds, the veteran AP photographer, caught these nesting birds just outside the White House press briefing room, where spoon-feeding is a time-honored tradition.
Edmonds won the 1982 Pulitzer Prize for spot news photography with his frames of the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan outside the Washington Hilton the year before. The press briefing room is named for James Brady, the White House press secretary for Reagan who suffered the worst of that day's attack.
We're guessing Ron probably is happier about this snap.
So are we.
Heading into a glorious weekend, with highs in the high 80s expected here in Washington. When the red, red Robin comes bob bob bobbin' along...

Bailout birds for sure. Maybe union fowl? Nah, the WH press corps receiving their Obama propaganda worms( note how plump and juicy disinformation appears) squawking for more with their eyes closed. Nice pict!

Too bad Obama can't tax the birds too, er, I mean invest in their future.
