The president will appear with some well-known celebrity hosts tonight at a Beverly Hills fundraiser for the Democratic Party expected to raise about $3 million.
"Obama promised to bring people together,'' the L.A. Times' Tina Daunt notes, "and he'll certainly be doing that tonight, when former DreamWorks partners Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen reunite to co-host dinner with President Barack Obama.
Other co-hosts for the fundraiser -- with a dinner ticket of $30,400, top-dollar soft-money donation for the Democratic National Committee -- include Ron Burkle and agent Ari Emanuel -- brother to the president's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.
The event also will reunite Obama with the producer of the pre-inaugural Lincoln Memorial celebration, Don Mischer. And for those who cannot attend dinner, there is a $1,000-per-person reception, with $2,500 buying VIP seating and a performance by American Idol and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and Earth, Wind and Fire.
Political guru Andy Spahn, organizing the event, says: "It's a very rough economy, but despite that there is tremendous excitement and enthusiasm for the president."

I think Obama should use the event to get those witty Hollywood writers to script him a really slick monologue loaded with empathy he can recite when the North Koreans start crossing the DMZ to wipe out our troops and South Korea.

If the spelling-challenged (it's "party's", not "parties") "Teresa" had bothered to check campaign contributions records before writing the above, she'd know that federal election records show that neither O'Reilly nor Limbaugh contributed to Republicans in the 2008 campaign, let alone "bankrolled" GOP campaigns. We all know it takes less time to lie than it does to find out the truth, but next time, "Teresa", could you try doing a little research before posting?

What's laughable is how you Republican whackjobs try to make Hollywood sound like some far away out of touch place and then you use angry rich multi-millionaire white guys like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Beck, "Coulter" and B-list actors like Chuck Norris and Wilford Brimley to do it with.
You wingnut clowns wouldn't know what hypocrasy is if it smacked you over the head with a beer bottle.
