"With her direct access to the first couple and unparalleled connections to White House staff, as well as D.C. and Chicago power brokers, (Desiree) Rogers is considered by many to be the key to Brand Obama,'' the new, May issue of WSJ, the Wall Street Journal magainze, says of the subject of its cover story.
"She stands at the center of the careful marketing of the first family and an administration-wide effort to make the White House appear a hip and accessible abode.'' WSJ's Amy Chozik writes. "Mrs. Obama's press team manages a media blitz that includes cover shots on People, Vogue and Oprah's O magazine, among others, while Rogers controls the day-to-day development and execution of the brand.''
Rogers, who ran online social-networking at Allstate Financial, served as president of Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, a Chicago utility, and at age 31 led the Illinois State Lottery.
"Lady Luck,'' we've called her in these e-pages.
"Above all, Rogers is a world-class networker--the ultimate social engineer, not just planning White House dinner parties as well as her own intimate soirees but also connecting powerful people in her orbit,'' WSJ reports.
"She's been a social engineer from the beginning," says Shawnelle Richie, a friend and Chicago-based television executive for a division of CBS. "It's beyond parties, it's the way she connects with people."

I'm guessing that Bush lying about WMD's and Torture and then selling it to the public through friendly "media" outlets like Faux and Rush wasn't propaganda in your mind, right?

She ran the Illinois State Lottery? Then maybe she can explain why our school are broke - thought all that Lottery money was going to solve the problem. Problems are still there, only worse.

Flo, I like that name ~ Desiree'.
It is cosmic that u should pose that question. My p.L. friend, Camilla, is a new arrival from Mexico, via her sister, a naturalized citizen of the U.S. We do work on our mutually poor foreign language skills, or so goes that ruse, but there is also the requisite Fourier Transformation of radiant and convective heat that naturally occurs too, an engineering phenomena. My fundamental Latina weakness fascinates her to no end, a new thing for her, apparently, but one that she quickly learned to fully exploit for her entertainment and my detriment. Pure, unadulterated, situational "Torture". The resemblance to Ms. Rodgers really is quite remarkable ~ hair style and color, facial features, + green ojos and a most elegant nariz ("Torture" weapon no. 1).
