While President Barack Obama heads for South Bend, Ind., on Sunday to deliver the disputed commencement address at the University of Notre Dame, Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will be holding down the commencement front here in Washington.

George Washington University plans its commencement on the National Mall, with the Capitol as a backdrop and more than 25,000 people taking part in a ceremony that will include 5,000 undergraduate and graduate degree candidates.

Emanuel, chief of staff to Obama, will not only deliver the "keynote address,'' but also receive an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree, the school says.
