Yes, "it's a weekend of ceremonies, parades and cookouts,'' says Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming, delivering his party's weekly radio and video address. "Memorial Day is a time to remember America's fallen heroes.''
But the GOP is talking about energy today.
"Republicans support a comprehensive energy plan, a plan that puts Americans to work,'' Barrasso says, maintaining that the energy plans which Democrats are promoting will only raise taxes. "They want to put a new tax on American energy, a new tax every time you turn on a light switch.
"We need to make America's energy as clean as we can, as fast as we can, without raising prices,'' Barrasso says, promoting the exploration of oil and gas resources and "clean coal.''
"Democrats have focused solely on what they call green jobs. Those are jobs from alternative energy sources,'' he says. "I support green jobs, but why discriminate? American energy means American jobs, which is why I support red, white and blue jobs.''

I am sure that the Oil Corps are thanking the " Republicans " for their great energy plan, that allowed them to pull-in, over 600 BILLION DOLLARS IN PROFITS, while the " Republicans " controlled the White House and Congress !! Their energy plans consists of gouging the consumer, burn more coal and pollute and destroy our environment !! Hopefully, these " Republicans " will come up, with some better solutions, than the same old " Republican " nonsense !! I doubt it, though, they are making out like bandits, with all of these " American " Corps !!
Now, they want to make war on us, citizens, with the Healthcare Corps and not even discuss s single-payer healthcare system. Kill the patients, with no health insurance, so the Healthcare Corps, can make their bloody profits. Thanks, " Republicans ", for your overwhelming concern for your own pockets, in stead of our health !!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE AND WHOLE. NOW.

Amen, Sen. Barrasso. A smart energy plan includes everything from green technologies to more coal development, offshore and ANWR oil drilling, oil shale development, more oil development within our own borders such as in North Dakota where 500 billion barrels is just waiting to be used, more natural gas development, and nuclear power. It has to be all of that. No more taxes on energy, no less energy production, and not a singular focus on just green, because just green won't cut it. It is part of the solution, but certainly not all.

Blago Bagger FITZ,
I would like to see some support for that $600 billion profit figure. Second, oil companies generally pay three times as much in taxes as they make in profits.
Oil compaies do not set oil prices, that is set on the world market. As big as you may think an Exxon-Mobil or BP is, they cannot manipulate market prices. The current price rise is mainly due to the drop in price of the dollar.
Finally, how is BO doing bring the troops home?

Nice to see the studious John D took Barrasso's bait and swallowed it whole. John, did you find the barb yet?
As for Barrasso....I wish these stupid pugs would quite trying to educate us all on what the dems are for.....we can easily see that they are working MULTIPLE fronts on the energy plan. It only makes the pugs look stupid and munipulating when they do this, and it makes their followers look like sheeple. Pugs, can you just put solutions together and put them on the plate please?......I didn't think so.
