We've heard of singing to the choir, but Barney Frank was just getting wound up this morning when harmony broke out in the visitor's gallery of the House.
It was not the angels calling him home.
The presiding officer struck up a little drum beat with his gavel -- oh, wait, he was attempting to call the gallery to order.
No such luck. The sergeants were summoned.
And Frank (D-Mass.) carried on.
Credit C-SPAN's video for the floor shots, but how about that choir, guys and gals? They didn't sound bad.

Cool! Gotta love non-violent demonstrations and civil disobedience! Ghandi,Thoreau, Joan Baez, Jane Fonda, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon and Bill Ayers would be so proud! It's like the 60's all over again! Of course, these guys WILL be responsible for the fines and such (but I assume they'll be reimbursed by whoever's backing them).
.
One question, though: back about, oh, a year to 8 years ago, didn't the Republican assorted talking heads denounce this sort of thing as crazed, un-American, traitorous and a product of the "worst generation"? I seem to recall certain individuals reveling in how foolish it made the demonstrators look -- wasn't the general term "Loon"? INTERESTING that now that's their modus operandi. Not saying it's a BAD thing, and certainly they've got a right to do whatever (well, "whatever" short of violency, anyway) pleases their little souls as long as they're willing to take all the consequences, but it DOES make one wonder about certain amounts of hypocrisy in play there.
.
Anyway -- hope these guys keep up the good work. The more they work solely as anti-Dems and anti-Obama, the more they keep in the public mind that they have NO ideas of their own and that they have NO leadership that's worth a hill of beans, the more they ensure Democratic victory in 2010 and 2012. You guys bring a tear of joy to my eye!
