Sometimes, even a TelePrompTer can't get a president through a long day of meetings, including the signing of the "Helping Families Save their Home Act.''
"it's a bill that builds on the housing plan we already put into action to stabilize the housing market and stem foreclosures,'' President Barack Obama said at the bill-signing today in the East Room.
"And because of that plan, all of you should know that interest rates are down, refinancings are up, and Americans who participate can save up to $2,000 a year -- in effect, a $2,000 pay cut per family...
"Tax cut -- excuse me,'' the president said, quickly catching himself. "They don't need pay cuts,'' he said to laughter in the room. "That wouldn't be a good bill.''

Give him a break... he was thinking about the "benefits" of his cap and trade kleptocratic program.

Countdown to Wingnut minions thinking they're going to score political points with talk of Teleprompters, Birth Certificates and Dijon Musturd.

refinancing is NOT a tax cut. Getting money back is NOT a tax cut. It may be money, but it is NOT a tax cut. If it were a tax cut, it would help me. This bill won't help me at all. Tax cuts help everyone.
God this guy is a liar.

Since us ninnies who are honest, purchase only as much house as we can afford, and pay our mortgages, are going to be taxed to bail out those don't, the "$2,000 pay cut" line strikes me as pretty correct.

Umm....you can't even refinance without a 740 credit score. So, what's the use? The banks are still hording the money. They even have the execuse of saying the high credit score is needed to reduce risk. Umm. . .yah, I believe that TARP money belongs to the taxpayers. So, what is the risk again?

I guess TOTUS is finally telling the truth

Well actually between his sky-high deficits, soon-to-be tax increases on all, cap-and-trade costs and all the other nonsense he is inflicting upon Americans and businesses, it's more like a $10,000 pay cut for all people.

in effect, a $2,000 pay cut per family... ~ The great Obama, Supreme Ruler
-----------------------------
Sure, he may have mis-spoke, but this is his true sentiment. You would have a hard time placing a $$$ figure on the Ream-Out Job that is to come. What will be the personal Obama Cost Premium when gasoline is at $4.75 per gal, $0.25 per kw-h for electricity, $8.00 per MM BTU for NG, +$1500 for the new lawn mower powered cars, higher taxes across the board for those 55% that pay taxes.
It's coming, so grab the ankles and assume the position. Resist and end up like Chrysler or G.M. This is "change" you can not only believe in but will also get to thoroughly experience. That's a physical kind of experience. If the democrats would just line up and have s*x with this guy maybe some of the rest of us could have been spared. Amerika n Transition.

"a $2,000 pay cut per family" ...
will be the net effect of his Cap and Tax policy.

Words have impact, fortunately the smart americans know what has already been stated, it is NOT a $2,000 tax cut! Tax cuts CONTINUE, this is a one time deal for some americans, not all americans.
Hey, unemployment figures show there was an INCREASE in continuing unemployment.
Obama has ruined this economy. It is his name that will go down in history for this mangling of the economy.
Man manipulating...it never works, stop this in 2010 by electing other candidates and in 2012 by electing someone other than Obama.
It hasn't even been 6 months and the Obama administration can keep running around and sticking their fingers in the dike while the public is being pelleted by water.
you can't fool the people, only the robots.

Oh gah, can you stop with the childish teleprompter baloney? It really feels like a schoolyard taunt. Not conversation for adults.

Beth, he said "Americans who participate" would have a tax cut. Once sentence, one point, but you and the rest of the Obama critics like to take the opportunity to regurgitate the right wing talking points. God, Beth is a liar. Oh, and John D and Gene and Paulo….. Talk about drones, why don't you guys go back to watching liars Hannity, O'Reilly, Beck and Fat boy Rush and then continue to spout their drivel in your daily posts on what ever subject strikes your fancy because most of you can’t stay on the subject matter of the fricken article.

And when President Obama proposed to trim the INCREASE in the Pentagon's budget, Republic Party enablers like yourself whined that Obama was cutting their budget and making America less safe. Your side has no foundation to stand on when it comes to telling the truth.
