Radio's Rush Linbaugh is a fine one to talk about men, myths and rhetorical magic.
But Limbaugh, joining Glenn Beck on the FOX News Channel today, suggested that there was something "eery," larger than life, perhaps, about President Barack Obama's address on national security today.
"It was eerie," the man with the golden mic said of the man with the bully pulpit - how's the National Archives, home of the Bill of Rights, for a stage to talk about terrorism and the rule of law?
"It's not what Obama says, it's how he says it that has the magical effect on people,'' the radio man said. In the great hall, Limbaugh said, the speech had "a God-like echo.''
Yet Obama is a mere mortal man, says the God of conservative talk radio - dropping a little street-fighting suggestion that some else is too.
.
"He's just a man who puts his pants on one leg at a time, like Hillary does," Limbaugh said.

If Republican party leader, Boss Limbaugh, and his trusty sidekick, Crying Glenn Beck, wonder why no one takes them seriously anymore they need look no farther than a mirror.
I'd call what the Republicans have now a "party", but that would be assuming that they exist in great numbers anywhere outside of the deep south and they don't.
What the Repugs have left now looks more like a "small gathering" rather than a political party and it's all thanks to their psycho "leaders" like Cheney, Limbaugh, Beck, Bush, O'Reilly, Drudge etc etc, who do a great job of turning people off to the repulsive Republican message every single day.

Druggy Rush wouldn't know what god looked or sounded like even if god walked up to him and smacked him across his fat face with a bottle of oxycontin.

There was a posting about sarcasm earlier which inspired this:
Keep talking Rush and Cheney, you're converting so many friends. And thanks for all your constructive thinking and suggestions!

""He's just a man who puts his pants on one leg at a time, like Hillary does," Limbaugh said."
At which Glenn cried like a little girl.

I just watched that speech on CSpan.
It was a great one.
Hope it is posted on WH web site for a long while.
Still in all, I can't agree with Prez that a Truth Commission is not needed and that the usual institutions can get to the bottom of things.
So far, that has not happened, has it?
Rather, CIA is taking pot shots at Speaker of the House.
And in doing so intimidating other elected officials who might question whatever CIA wants to do.
Nice thing about a Truth Commission is, presumably there are no office holders who have to run for re election.
Dr. Szell, er, Dick Cheney claims that the fruits of the "enhanced interrogation" have been held back and should be released to the public.
Bogus. He and his chief of staff Scooter Libby felt free to leak the identy of a covert agent, Ms. Plame, when it suited their purposes.
I doubt they would have hesitated to release any evidence of "dasterdly deeds forfended" on their watch.

I thought Limpbaugh was the man with the golden mic who has a magical effect on his sheeple. We do know Limpbaugh was the man with a suitcase full of viagra and condoms returning from the Dominican Republic with several other males.

Misdirection, party of two. Your table is ready.
Don't talk about what the speeches were about, talk about how they were presented. Use of torture, closing Gitmo? No let's talk, in extremely broad strokes, about the economic situation. Therse guys are the Joan and Melissa Rivers of American Politics. No talent, no ablility, but lots of opinion.

Rush Limbaugh is like the old vacuum tubes. Filled with a vacuum, they implode when whacked. McCain's mother thumped Limbaugh with her little finger and he imploded. .........

Well, when's the last time you saw Hillary in a skirt?
As Limbaugh often says, in order for a joke to work, there has to be an element of truth.

Hello?!!! Thousands of job are gone and industries closing. Not to mention the biggest economic backbone of this country; CAR MANUFACTURING are closing down big time! Hello Obama! Better do something about the ECONOMY. Or Rush Limbaugh's words will haunt you and the American people who voted for their pres. Enough of the suave and "good looks" front of Obama. That's not gonna work. Take note: Bush run this country progressively... Suddenly, when the Democrats took over the congress... it all went out of the window. Okay???

Well, it's true, one supposes, that Obama, Rush and even Clinton/Ms. put their pants on one leg at a time.
Only, if Obama or Clinton were ever to put on pants the size that Rush wears, they'd probably be able to fit both their legs in the same pant leg and make room for both of them in the same pair of pants. If that's what they chose, of course. Rush, on the other hand, would split a pair of either Obama's or Clinton's pants WIDE open if he ever tried to stuff himself into one of them.

As of 2006 the damage was already done. The false economy of Bush and the republicans was based upon false equity in their homes. People took equity lines and spent like crazy. This started with the cheap money and bad lending practices of the banks and no oversight by the government. The real estate buble burst at the end of 2005....before democrats were voted in. Now I'm sure you will bring up the debunked argument of CRA, but it is exactely that....bunk.

I love it when you folks bring up Rush's past drug use, but you have no problem supporting the former coke head BO.
BillyR,
And the house of cards that was made by the democrats thru forcing banks to loan money to people who couldn't afford to pay it back - the whoel thing collapsed - ask Brothel Barney and Chrissy Dodd about the details.

And Rush Limbaugh is just a druggie that screams into a microphone at his 20 million red neck fans everyday. Remember, Rush, the REPUBLICANS NEVER DO ANYTHING FOR THIS COUNTRY, THEY ONLY DO THINGS TO THIS COUNTRY. HISTORY WILL BEAR THAT OUT!! whiteagle38
