President Barack Obama, celebrating the start of his administration with a $3 million-plus, cellebrity-studded fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Beverly Hills last night, told his audience that he "would put these first four months up against any prior administration since FDR.''
"I was gonna come out and sing, but my political advisers told me not to,'' Obama told the audience.
With an audience of Hollywood stars such as Kiefer Sutherland (pictured here definitely not butting heads with anyone), Jamie Foxx, Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, the president responded to a call from the hall of, "Yes, we can,'' by saying:
"We've made some progress, yes, we have.... But we've got more work to do. We can't rest on our laurels.
"We didn't ask for the challenges that we face, but we don't shrink from them either," Obama said. ""It won't be easy. There will be setbacks. It will take time."
Conceding some "fits and starts'' during his first four months in the White House, the president told his audience: "I've made some mistakes, and I guarantee you I'll make some more.''
And he promised, as The Hill notes of the evening's event, and as the Politico.com video above shows: "But I want you to know, Los Angeles, you ain't seen nothing yet."
Obama was introduced by Dreamworks CEO and Democratic donor Jeffrey Katzenberg, one of the co-hosts of the $30,400-per-couple dinner, along with fellow film producer Spielberg. Together with a $1,000-per-ticket concert with a larger audience for Jennifer Hudson and Earth, Wind and Fire, the party raised more than $3 million. Obama thanked his host, Katzenberg, by saying: "If it weren't for you, we would not be in the White House."

Seems we will hear the tired old attacks on "hollywood" here. What I can't understand is how those attacks come from the party who's president was the leader of the SAG.

Barack Obama is the premier example of the decline of fundamentalism in both religion and politics.

We already know that!...more bankruptcies, more home foreclosures, higher unemployment, printing money as fast as possible, nationalizing major private industries, higher taxes, hiring of tax cheats and unqualified people....you are right Mr. President.."we ain't seen nothing yet." You're just getting started!!! Enjoy your one term in office!!!!!

Let's not forget Obama, its the little people that put you into office. Not your multi-millionaire friends!. I think people are eventually going to see you for what you really are, and that's a liar in the first degree. Your wasteful spending, as well as the increase in taxes, and a number of flip-flops since you took office, are all going against what you ran on. The little people put you in and the little people can take you out of office,

Obama is absolutely correct when he says "You ain't seen nothing yet."
Record federal spending, record deficits, rising unemployment, record bankruptcies, everyone in the cabinet a tax cheat... Truly, you ain't seen nothing yet.
To give just one statistic not on the president's teleprompter: "The U.S. delinquency rate jumped to a seasonally adjusted 9.12 percent and the share of loans entering foreclosure rose to 1.37 percent, the Mortgage Bankers Association said today. Both figures are the highest in records going back to 1972. " (Bloomberg news)
And you ain't seen nothing yet.....

Are you referring to the time when Hollywood used to be PATRIOTIC? Remember those good ole days when Hollywood made movies that supported traditional American values....those times are long gone now...thanks to liberals like you bill r.

Another day, another Obama lie. From ABC News's Jake Tapper:
"Q&A: All right. Just to follow up, I looked at your "100 Days, 100 Projects" booklet yesterday, and the very first one says, quote, "Using $27 million of Recovery Act funding a public housing development in D.C., the Regency House, has undergone a green retrofit. As part of this upgrade, the building installed solar panels, green roof, rainwater collection system, energy-efficient lighting, as well as water-conserving toilets, showerheads and faucets." But when I called the D.C. Housing Authority, they said only $59,000 was spent of stimulus money, not $27 million, and of these seven things mentioned, only two of the seven were actually done --
[White House Press Secretary Robert] GIBBS: I think the mistake -- mistake in that one, as you blogged about earlier, took a series of different projects in a cut- and-paste into one.
TAPPER: OK. So it wasn't as clear and -- it wasn't as accurate as it could have been?
GIBBS: I -- I think that's accurate to say, yes."
Tell me again why anyone believes ANYTHING this man says?

And I thought with Bill Clintoon is was all about me and being narcistic, but I thought Obama really takes the cake. This guy's ego sure is the biggest of any president, that's for sure. And as far as what we've seen, well we've seen this: Rising unemployment, lots of flip flops, record deficits as far as the eye can see, the collapse of the U.S. auto industry, the collapse of the U.S. travel industry, the destruction of Las Vegas, record government hiring, record government spending, soon-to-be record government taxation, tax cheats galore in his Cabinet, reckless use of Air Force One, more time away from the White House than any president ever, and basically the beginning of the end of the greatness that was the USA.
