President Barack Obama has a couple of jumbo jets at his disposal -- including one deployed for a $327,000 photo shoot recently -- and he has a fleet of helicopters at his command -- though he has nixed a multibillion-dollar Defense budget to build a new fleet.
But Oprah Winfrey has her own private jet.
And oh, says the publisher of O, it's great to have.
The star of daytime TV gave the big speech at Duke University on Sunday, where she collected a Doctor of Humane Letters degree. She spoke of success, both material and personal, and she spoke of satisfaction in both dimensions.
"It's great to have a nice home. It's great to have nice homes! It's great to have a nice home that just escaped the fire in Santa Barbara," she said. "It's great to have a private jet. Anyone that tells you that having your own private jet isn't great is lying to you.
"You may achieve great things, but you haven't completed the circle of success until you help someone else move to a higher ground and get to a better place."
She dispensed some advice as well: "Trust your gut. You know what is right and what is wrong. Trust your gut and stand in your own shoes and you will be a huge success.''
She should know: The Wall Street Journal says Winfrey's "ride'' is a $42 million Global Express XRS custom-fittedt by Bombardier Aerospace. Bombardier calls the globe-trotting top of its corporate jet line "the most luxurious, most accomplished business aircraft ever built, accommodating the desires of the most sophisticated and demanding traveler with no compromises.''

At least Oprah does good things with her her private jet. She doesn't use it for Viagra fuled sex trips to the Domincan like Republican leader Druggy Rush does with his.
